What's your reason for wanting to move abroad?
Effortlessly improved health and becoming part of a true community.
Escape racism!
The American culture and government is so toxic. I want to live where humanity is the focal point and money isn't glorified and treated as a prized possession. 🙏🏾
I’m EXHAUSTED here in America….Mentally, and Physically. Society is toxic, my job is toxic and it has taken a toll on me ladies!
Peace of mind ❤
The best life is having a life that you don’t need a vacation from. ♊️ 👩🏽 🐈⬛ 🐦⬛ 👽 🛸 🔮 🌷
I desire to have that kind of life....😕🤞🏾💗
You two have been the second Bible to me. I left my job on June 20th with 2 years of planning after watching guys. I'm set and ready for my second chapter which involves travel and living outside this troubled country. I can't explain what you guys have given me to make this move and change my life. I'm crying right now so I'll stop. Thank you!!!!!
@@ChosenGirl-zj4uz it’s possible outside of the U.S. South Africa 🇿🇦 is a good start.
👆🏾
My biggest challenge regarding "American life" is the isolation, greed, obscene expectations, and cutthroat comparisons. I've hung on for far too long in a one-sided relationship with the U.S.
That's exactly what it is, an unhealthy, dysfunctional relationship. It's like staying in a bad marriage because it's become a habit.
The isolation in the states is almost unbearable.
It’s me realizing that the struggle, microagressions and hustle is never ending. If I want change, I have to choose something different. I love the US but it doesn’t love me back😢
Maybe not the area you are in. I'm living abroad in the Caribbean made that move during covid. Looking now to head back to the states but not NYC which is home to me. I'm never living there again it's hard living. I'm looking for another place I can maybe call home for a bit.
@phylisiadaley5995 I agree! I was born and mostly raised in Denver, CO aka "White Wakanda"😒 and honey, with all the micraggressions on top of the blatant racism, I'm tired. I'm planning to move to Georgia for more Black community and easier way of living. I also want to travel but like Roshida I like having planted roots.
@@dionysus9876 exactly I'm cracking up @white wakanda 😂😂😂 but yes I'm looking at Georgia as well and maybe North Carolina. Somewhere affordable, I'm a nature person, yet want to be able to drive into the city from time to time. NY was so expensive for the ghetto lifestyle. Being in the Caribbean has changed me, slowed me down and realized what things make me happy.
My last day at my job was this past Friday. I’ve developed a stress related autoimmune disease, and I’m over the political and social environment here in the US. I’m 35 and I’ve decided I’m in early retirement. Thank you for this platform ladies ❤ feels good to have a safe space where I won’t be looked at sideways for my decision
@JJNotEvans We will not look 👀 at you sideways for leaving that job, we will embrace you! 🤗 Congratulations for putting that behind you. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
❤❤❤❤
I am so sorry that it got that bad. I also I was diagnosed with PTSD after leaving my job in academia as a black woman I now teach meditation and other methods to help heal illness and deal with our stress.
Sis. Go live your best life! You’re young. Go be great!!!!
Outstanding. 💪🏾💪🏾
I will no longer be a support person for the rich.
- Stephanie Perry, May 2024
Well said! Those same rich people are out here sabotaging us politically!🤨
I am so ready to go. I’ve been ready to go. I am looking forward to getting the hell out of the USA. It’s time. This is a Third World nation now for black women intelligent smart, educated, healthy, funny, loving, kind, ready to move on. I think they should leave the US not a good place for us mentally✊🏽🙏🏽
Freedom!🎉🎉🎉
That is all good for some.. most likely people who pack up and leave the U.S.,are taking themselves there, and they will be miserables. People shouldn't leave if they have issues that they haven't tried to come to terms with. Most people don't look at the big picture.
I'm in need of assistance on how to leave step by step I want to Live like I have never Lived before I have had 40 years of life struggles just working to pay bills smdh....
Omg!! Thank you Stephanie Perry for your story! Being single no kids and a stressful job. I’m tired. Tired of anxiety and depression. Working on my relationship with Christ and stepping out on faith! Love this!
Let's go Lady!! God created this whole world. Just because we were born in this country, He does not require us to stay here until, we leave for our permanent HOME. We must take the limits off of God! He wants us to see this Beautiful World😀❤
I absolutely love these ladies. I watch them so much, I feel like I know them. I know their focus is black women. I am black, but I am not a woman, but I enjoy them just the same. I lived abroad for many years, and I love traveling. I never thought that leaving your job would be a movement. I left my job in December and now I live in a $15.00 a night hotel in Chiquimula Guatemala. Life is good.
Thank you for this comment. I needed to hear this.
Awesome!! Name of hotel??!!
Don’t leave until you have a solid plan for how you’ll support yourself in old age. I’ve seen many of these free spirited people who didn’t save for retirement when they could really suffer in nursing homes. Living your best nomadic life is easy when you’re young, not so easy when you’re older unless you planned well.
Bless your heart. That happens in the US too, a lot.
@@Kozette88bless your heart too dear. Did I say it didn’t happen in the US? I’m not sure if you just made an assumption or didn’t comprehend my post.
This is a video about people who desire to leave the rat race and live a cheaper more independent lifestyle that may be nomadic. My post was geared to that audience. Not sure why that non-threatening piece of information triggered you but you’re in my prayers.
A plan is definitely a necessity. But I’ve seen far more people actually be able to create a plan for retirement after moving away from the US. I watched a recent video of a bw who switched from a tech career to become a pastry chef in France. The cost of living there is far more affordable and she gave a breakdown of her expenses. She only makes $30,000 annually, but is able to easily pay all of her bills and pay off her college loans in the hundreds each month. This wouldn’t not be possible in the US unless you lived in a very bad neighborhood. This woman had a beautiful apartment with full amenities. I’m sure that she will be in a good position for retirement if she keeps making smart financial choices while in France.
All of this takes serious planning and discipline, but it’s very encouraging to know that it is possible. From what I have seen neither of these ladies have told anyone to just quit without a plan. I remember Stephany said she saved up $14,000 before taking her first sabbatical. These ladies are strategists and I believe some of them offer mentorship through this program. 😊
LISTEN..I have thought about that too. But honestly- most folks in the US...ah "suffer in nursing homes," in old age. That's what we do. I know very few folks who were cared for lovingly at home...VERY FEW. Are you saying have money for a NICE nursing home?
So give more information, how to be nomamedic and live abroad. An age correctly and be ready to retire well
Her afro ❤
I was just telling my friend about you saying that leaving your job and the US stops you from supporting white supremacy. It really hit me deep. TRUTH!!!! I’m planning on going to Italy 🇮🇹 and further in October with any money I can possibly find. With the Lord’s blessing and mercy and free house sitting accommodations, I SHALL RISE!!!! 🙌🏾
@@jayrober4834Thanks for the suggestion but I have no interest in visiting Africa. We are all individuals with different life experiences and my experiences and desires lead me to Europe. 😊 BTW, there is not a country on the planet that doesn’t have a messy history. You have to find the mess you can live with. 😊
There are other troubles besides Racism you know, do your homework and look up videos of people living abroad especially in Africa, there are horrible stories out there.
@@annastasiabeverhaus Colombia was way better than i expected. Also, Portugal was great too. We were in Italy for a month ... no issues
"How much of a hippie do you want to become?" Frankly, this question fills me with delight!
Same!!
We’re moving to Jamaica next year too, I totally agree with these beautiful ladies ❤. We’re in the belly of the beast in the USA.
Moving to Jamaica ? hahahahaha
Congratulations ❤
Jamaica? Beautiful but dangerous. Especially if you're middle class and above. I only go on vacations there but never to live.
Exactly
Going to Jamaica to retire ? You are in the belly of the beast in the USA ? You are going to be in the mouth of the beast there with a target on your back
I’m so glad this video popped up for me. I am approaching 47 and I identified as a truck driver and my children are adults and I have one grandchild and one on the way but you all are speaking my language. I just did a CZcams video about me evolving at my age. I haven’t saved much but I have worked hard my whole life and my whole soul is tired. I must learn more and do more and I definitely want to go!!
Replay gang! Good morning ladies! Thank you for this upload. I’ve have been living abroad for a bit over a year and my life took a complete 180 for the best. The greatest change I have experienced thus far is the community I gained. Everything that I may have stressed about in the US I haven’t had to worry about now. My stress levels have dropped drastically resulting in over 20 lbs of weight loss. Nowhere is perfect but I have found more happiness with less than everything I had in the US. Keep up the great work ladies! Greetings from the Netherlands. 🇳🇱 ❤
Living a life that we love is the key! I'm planning on moving to a very small city in Egypt, hopefully by December. I visited there in 2021 for three weeks. I'm retired now, , very healthy and God willing, will continue on this amazing journey of life. Thank you ladies, for inspiration and encouragement.👍🏽👍🏽
I am that woman who has a husband who has heard me talk about this and since the pandemic. When I first started listening to Stephanie, Her videos were my Escape while trapped in what was my safe space from Covid scares. But blessings are real and my husband is on board! We are planning our scouting trips as we speak! 1st stop, Mexico!! I cannot wait to meet you both at one of the meet ups. Keep the beautiful content coming. I really do love you guys.❤
Congratulations 🎉
I am a black woman who has lived abroad for 3 years. It is nice being about to travel and meet new people but the fuckery is real. You WILL get taking advantage of because you are an American. Everyone thinks we are rich! Racism exists oversees too. You have to have a job with a 401k and a Plan and health care. People make it seem like moving oversees is the answer to everything!
Two divine Goddesses... that are living their best lives.. and funny as heck! Love you both...
Even if you’re married, especially if you’ve been married a long time, you have to learn to put yourself first. I’ve been married 28 years and I’ve decided to put myself first and that means moving abroad solo and my husband will join me later.
Yes same here. My husband isn’t onboard. I’m ready to go. But God I’m a newlywed.
@@AngieC1979 yes, that does make things a bit more complicated. If you can, Get him to listen to other couples who have made the move. He might not change his mind right away but maybe he’ll change it sooner than later. We have a podcast and this is one of the areas we talk about.
Love you guys. I’m 60 year old Social Worker. I’m pretty healthy and don’t want to wait until I turn 62. I have a small savings. I’m praying about me going solo to travel and get to know me even with a husband that loves to work.
Consider housesitting to get some some travel at a lower cost because the accommodations are taken care of and since you’re usually in a house or apartment, you can cook a lot of your food. When I quit teaching, depressed, PTSD, I managed by housesitting for like 8 months till I could get myself together.
Yesssss!!!! Go for it!
Stephanie Perry, I just love your facial expressions. Just. Don't. Care! Clank those glasses ladies. Celebrate your lives 😂
I am trying to achieve Stephanie's level idgaf @42:31 !!! I love it ❤😂
Total agree, black women, please listen to these ladies and try figure how to make some changes in living your best lives especially young ladies who are just starting out planning live will take you in a total direction . Once you start having kids
Your life is not your own. Trust a mother who is 73 years old.❤❤❤❤
Roshida i hear you!!! I was the ONLY one in the company in my role (Analyst), and the only BIPoC. Part of my role was trying to keep everyone else from making mistakes that would cost the whole company, and they constantly questioned my expertise and were increasingly condescending. Those folks had me on anxiety meds. 2 years in I lost my closest sister in a tragic accident, and they didn't bat an eye.
“What do you want to do? You wanna go get some snacks?”
At this grown grown age. This is me. I am the snack lady always trynna get some snacks 😅. Now im gonna just ask people outright if they wanna go get some snacks with me.
👋🏽😁😅
omg, Rashida I took care of my dad until his death. I have 6 other brothers and sisters, not one of them stepped up. Now that my father has passed away, I feel so lost in life. like i feel like im all alone in america. I am ready to go.
Im sorry for the misspelling of your name Roshida
small steps. It's so hard to find people that want to travel and hang out.
Your not alone. My fiance passed. I feel sad too. Everyday
Moment of Silence ~
You were a good daughter and you will be blessed for taking care of your dad.
The one paycheck comment got to me. I have been thinking about managing my life. I recently had a surgery for a second time. My oldest daughter was able to help me. But I had to rush back to work because I couldn’t pay my bills. I also have a family trip coming up. And my aunt who is coordinating the trip was asking me during my medical leave, when I was going to pay for this family vacation? I feel like I am the only one struggling. I also felt like I was going to become homeless. My current job is the only job I had that would allow me the time off and some pay.
Besides my daughters I know i don’t have a community. And I fear my daughter don’t have a community besides each other.
Help! I want out!! I know that I need to get out.
We want you to! follow the steps we outlined in the video.
Totally agree! Do you have a plan of action yet?
So much debt and hatred in America now i talk to young people who want to travel and find a country they like to move to.
I'm with you, I've been contemplating to do this for some time now. I stumbled on this; however, nothing happens by chance. This is confirmation👍🏾 YAASSSSSS!!!❤it!!
Discover other cultures, excitement, adventure, meeting the same mindset people. Being disenfranchised due to outside appearance.❤
Free to be me!!!😊😊😊
That's the part I was looking for... I just started law school as a non traditional student because I want to practice law internationally but these last two months the U.S. really has me shook
Ladies you are both so encouraging I'm going back to Costa Rica 🇨🇷 for the second time in November I'm excited, next will be Africa
OMG my taurus twin sis you really hit me when you spoke on being the caregiver for the parent when others are expecting me to carry on with the same while they go along with their lives. I was in west Africa just when the Plandemic kicked off and when I returned almost a month later my mother started having different joint issues. Now that a few years after my return her back and knee surgery curtailed my plans. I really don't understand siblings that don't simply step up. This video was valuable, thank you.
Greetings Stephanie & Rashida, I have been following you all for a year now. I previously worked out of the Country for a yr and half. I have some experience. One yr and a half until retirement. I am preparing, intentional to leave the U.S. The U.S. is imploding, false democracy, and being black in America, as a black woman, there is no sense of safety. I am not going to let the U.S. eat away my retirement. My life is my own and I get to choose and create my own sanctuary. Im considering Panama or Costa Rica. I am of Costa Rican Roots. I love La Purda Vida.
I am looking at Costa Rica as well. I am getting into wellness and heard that's the place to go.
Oh Definitely come to Panama 🇵🇦 and find out how you feel away from US. I feel safe and secure among black and brown people and love the sense of peace and freedom! ❤😊
I’m now 50 and very successful in my career. But also VERY unhappy. I want something different. I don’t want a day to day grind job any longer where I have no energy or balance. I DO NOT want to live in the US anymore. Figuring it out. Glad I found you both!
Hey, Fabulous Ladies!!! Sending love and vibes for your best vacation yet!
- L'Trentis
Thank you so much L'Trentis!! Hey! 👋🏾 💗
I need help leaving economically without being followed socially and technologically. Thankful for your channel. I was brought to the United States by my mother at age two. I never had a choice to chose a country. My Haitian family members did. They stated the United states was better than Haiti. But all of them are starting life from 0$ and I am starting off with 67,000+ unsubsidized interest and low paying job positions in the same county I went elementary, middle, college in. I am dealing with my resentment of being cast away economically and I am trying to do what you guys did. Pay them their money back and chose a better social/economic community.
To remove the resentment, try to look at it as they tried to do what they thought was best for you (and it technically was). They gave you a life of options you wouldn't have if you stayed in Haiti. It's unfortunate you have debt but you're privileged to be able to earn money in a currency that can get you far in many other countries. You can go somewhere with a low COL work online and be able to pay down your debt plus there's other ways to pay it down. Lots of great resources on CZcams on how to lower debt. Stay positive cause the life these ladies preach is within your means. Get a pen and paper and start creating a plan. You got this!
I am a single mom and I want to move abroad. I’m not sure where to begin. The US does not bring me joy. My job has a base in London so I could move there. I LOVE my job as an FA. Im just not sure I could be anywhere without working and I’m not sure I can afford to be anywhere
Does FA mean flight attendant? If you love your job, are you able to move somewhere that will allow you to keep that job? Do you like London?
@@denisenoles3159 yes that’s what it mean. I have only been to London as a child so I don’t remember it
I hope you take a trip to London (and wherever else you might like) to see how you like it. You have a benefit that a lot of other people don't have. Use it to your benefit Sis. Safe travels.
@@tisha812 being a single mom with virtually I help I don’t get to use it as often as I’d like yet but staying in for the long haul my children can use it more and I can use it more as I continue to work towards affording my own freedom outside of work 😩 as they get older I get to do it more and more
Ready or Not
HERE I COME!!! 🎉🎉🎉❤😅😊
The way things are going, I understand.
Whew! Sistrens are dropping gems here. So grateful for these words of encouragement.
So inspiring ladies! Do it for yourself ladies 💯 . The men will ALWAYS be there especially since currently there are more men then women worldwide 🌎
You both seemed so relaxed- this video was inspiring it was simple but heartfelt and covered all the points, nice to also see the two of you in the same room-- I think we did on the cruise too...Also loved when Roshida said "this is why I can't" change it to "how can I?" That's my mindset too...ask yourself the RIGHT QUESTIONS to get helpful answers.
Exactly! How?! I know it can be done. The question is how can i?
You two look so relaxed. I wish I could be on a plane tomorrow 😩 I hate it here. Everything is about money and I am sick of it. I am from the UK 🇬🇧 black ⚫ 🖤 menopausal woman who knows the truth. I have two girls on college and I cannot leave them alone yet and I am so ready to leave...
Remember: We were brought here to work. We are expected to work until we drop. We must love ourselves.
Mauritius is the one! I can't wait. Been living in the Caribbean (I'm from the US) but just moved back to Brazil with my 2 youth
42:32 “Listen, you can type it out if it’s going to make you feel better.” 💀💀💀🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I live in FL. Never seen snow in my life lol. Yes, you can live without Winter.
Thank you ladies a brother here i can relate been stress alot in this country when i leave America i always feel alot happier moving to Colombia soon been going there back and forth for over 15 years plan on moving either to the beach Cartagena or a mountain town seems like when i go there stress is lifted off of me.
Im going to subscribe to this channel now!!! I'm 56. I'll be 57 in October. 35 yrs gov employee. I would love to retire and travel. Oh did i say I'm single? Yesssss!!! I'm so glad I saw this. Don't know how you popped up on my feed but glad you did!! Peace and Blessings to you both!!!❤😘🥰
I love this , I need the blue print please, I work at the Railroad and I have eight years left for retirement and I will be 67 years old and the company is laying off and providing buyouts so there are no guarantees. Next chapter, please I am single no children and I have bought a condo and a lot of debt.
Just my 2 cents but as I read your comment....my immediate thought was:
1. Sell your condo
2. Take the surplus (if any) to pay off your debts
3 .Use your savings to begin to fund your new life abroad (its much cheaper to live in other countries
Yes...sell that condo. You sneeze and they go up on HOA fees. Blessings to you.
Rent your Condo out through property management company and move abroad for a year.
Do a remote job while living abroad.
Happy and Free.... What a concept 🤯 Thank you ladies for continuing to spread this message
I love Stephanie. She is so down to earth and humble ❤
Thanks for all of the inspiration!!! 💕💕💕💕

Good video Stephanie & Roshida, as usual! I have been watching Stephanie for several years; even before Exodus Summit. And have taken a few scouting trips in Africa since then. This video has rekindled my interest in in moving abroad; especially in the current political climate of the US and in my current state of residence, FL. I hope to make it back to South Africa for another scouting trip, before the end of 2024. Wishing success for all of us, as we seek to live our Best lives possible.

I love this for Y'all/Us!! Sharing w my Sistas
I would love to live abroad, but unfortunately, I'm contracted at my job until 2025 at the minimum. Until then, I have chosen two countries in Africa, Europe, Central America, and Asia. Then, I plan to narrow it down to one from those countries. I have time to save, pay off my school loans, vet these places, and make a final decision.
I'm going to co-sign with Roshida and Stephanie about men. Don't worry about being lonely or not finding a man in another country. As a former military member who lived overseas, men from other countries tried to shoot their shot. Don't let that be why you stay in the U.S. Men are men and they'll try whether you're in the US or not.
Hello Roshida and Stephanie! Great conversation.
Im in the process of finding out if I will be able to work during my 3 month stay in West Africa. I want to work for a 3 more years, but at the same time, I want to start visiting places outside of the US in search for my new home.
