Golden. I used to listen to this in the day...with my Pappy. I then listened to this with my son. Now...we listen to it with his son. Win-Win-Win.

I've commented before on several radio shows before that they are not for everyone. You must understand there were no flashy hi tech space age special effects with CGI and such so creative sounds, inflection, expression and a blend of music and audio effects would be used to weave a wonderful story in you mind. I love them and are so grateful for your hard work and effort to make the audio quality so good and have the awesome fireplace and other scenes. Please don't be upset when others who may not be in tune with these wonderful old shows so worthy of preservation and being heard find them uninteresting. There are legions of us like me that cherish each and every hour of your wonderful work to bring these marvelous old shows back to us in a fresh and exciting format and preserve them for generations to come to enjoy their excellence in acting and creative special effects!

Thanks for the encouragement! A jeweler doesn't make diamonds, they just polish them and put them in the best setting to be appreciated. If someone dislikes diamonds the jeweler isn't offended. But ultimately even if someone doesn't like a particular show there is usually a show that will appeal to them they just have to find it!😀

Been listening to a large range of these old programs. Quite a few are written by boring uninspired hacks while the players seemed to be just off a binder. On the other hand this one is fun, with a blend of excellent writing, acting, and music. Not many like this one.

Love Bob Bailey's voice. Slow, deep, seductive with a hint of no-nonsense shrewdness.
No woman gets over on him, no matter how alluring her perfume.

There was a PRIZE in the bottom of "The Midas Touch": buried in the cast list is ROLAND WINTERS, who was the last of the several Charlie Chans of cinema! From 1947 to 1949 Winters played the great detective in what would be the last six of a long line of "comedy-crime thrillers"; an unexpected treat to find him here as he was primarily a visual actor. Born in 1904, he did films well into the 1970s and also some television, very little radio.
I must credit Wikipedia not only for the precise points of what i did generally recall, but for something i hadn't known before: in a one-off appearance in 1968 on "Bewitched", Winters (maiden name Winternitz) embodied the theretofore (and thereafter) never-seen "McMann", other half of the despotic, megalomaniac team "McMann & Tate", for whose insinuous, voracioous ad agency the hapless Darrin Stevens toiled. I'm confident the former Charlie Chan saw through both of those psychos, and now that i have this trivium i ponder (after midnight, weak and weary) an alternate universe in which "McMann" opens his briefcase, announces he's sticking around, and introduces a guy he met on the plane: "Larry Tate, Darrin Stevens, meet Don Draper."
Scorpions in a bottle wouldn't begin to describe it. Needless to say, before swallowing "McMahon & Tate" into the then Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce combine, Donzy has met, bedded, boffed and bought Samantha Stevens.*
There's more, but i need Roland Winters here to do the storyboard.
    * Darrin is not left solo. He hooks up with SCDP's Sal Romano, and they get their own series on another network,
    "The Odd Couple".

Midas Touch …. Who wrote this one? It’s got plenty of twists & turns! Bob Bailey is the best JD….though at times he gets a bit arrogant. But great voice!

Mr H. Have you heard of Counter Spy? Or the Line Up? I just found them both. 'Counter Spy, is a ww2 espianoge bit, under cover. The 'line up' is made to seem as real events but I think it's fictitious. M.

The pacing of these old shows is different than what we are used to for sure! The music was a que that a scene changed or the mood changed, etc. This particular compilation features the shows that were in the nightly 15 minute format so the opening and closing music is more frequent. Thanks for the feedback!😀

@@HearthandHomeEntertainment wow... I was totally taken aback by that rude feedback. I mean it could’ve been said nicer and it amazes me that people are wound so tight that a few mins of music is throwing them out of joint? Why not just double tap to fast forward?
I have enjoyed listening as I take long drives and this for sure makes the time pass quickly.
