Layers and twists amd turns. One of the best Johnny Dollar's. Love when Johnny ends up showing that heart of gold. Lets not tell anybody he's such a great guy, our secret, lol.
Awesome episode but people from New Orleans don’t have that kind of accent. I’m from New Orleans and we mostly sound like we’re from Brooklyn if anything . LOL
They did make a TV pilot in the early 60s, but Bob Bailey was not in it. He was about 5 foot 9 and 150 pounds, so he did not meet the "heroic" stature that TV wanted
@@michaeldegen3850 Yes, I read that in the associated wiki article. I just thought specifically this episode was so well-written, well-acted, and had just the right mood and atmosphere to be a great film noir movie.
@@michaeldegen3850 But that voice of his! And he was nice looking. Sometimes I think that tv and movies take away some of the charm anyway. I prefer these radio programs just the way they are. Same way with a book. I’ve always preferred the book to the movie. One thing I love about these radio dramas is the descriptive language. Like the line about there sometimes being bumps in life. “Ever hear of Mt. Everest?” Doesn’t get better than that.
@@ruthmaryrose No one can explain how and why Hollywood does what it does. Tom Cruise, Michael Fox, Richard Dreyfuss are all under 5'7", and all were leading men for many years, Cruse is still a leading man. If we go back to the 30s we have Cagney and Edward G Robinson were short, and they were superstars. Bob Bailey was supposed to be a closet alcoholic, maybe this is why he did very little Movies/TV. I cannot speak for current actors because I don't watch much current Movies or TV Shows

Quite the story. I couldn't stop listening!
Best Johnny Dollar I’ve heard. So well written and as usual well acted. I forgot everything happening around me and was just mesmerized.
Been a J D fan for a couple years. Haven't found any better .
More great episodes of JD with Bob Bailey!
JD is the best.
Couldn't stop smiling at the end. I admit a part of me wished Johnny met her again, helped them out. But maybe it is better it ended the way it did.
Superb!
Thanks for this episode AWESOME !!!!
Good storyline. More twists than usual.
Thanks
Love JD

Maybe people from Brooklyn sound like they are from New Orleans.😂
Really twisty story! And the trains stopped running to the Keys after the ‘35 hurricane!
What a great episode. This episode of Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar could have been made into an excellent film noir movie.

Alan Ladd was shorter and considered a movie tough guy. Sometimes they should let the public decide.
