Don't forget Torbin went from Padawan to Knight to Master before he felt guilty enough to isolate himself
I strongly suspect Koril was the one who orchestrated the fire incident at Brendok. She has every incentive to take advantage of the Jedi presence to frame them as a culprits that can potentially ruin the Jedi Order's reputation in the future.
Hadn't thought of her, but it would fit what we've seen so far. I just don't believe the Witches died that night. Passed out from the smoke, yes. If Koril was behind it, using her magic, she could make it seem to the Jedi that everyone died. How the Jedi could be blamed for the fire, I'm not sure, since they weren't on the scene at the time. But, misdirection is Headlund's trade mark.
I am a Dad of Twins. The fighting was actually pretty spot on and made me smile.
I think it's more likely they committed a Jonestown with Bunta instead of flavor aide. Bunta has come up a couple times and mother Anisaya's ritual mentioned 'upon her death', so it feels like it's been telegraphed.
Maybe May is secretly straight and "tread-choked" all the lesbo witches then set the fire to cover up her crime
All the living things around the tree were also gone.
Oh..
Regardless of how it actually happened, let's just rejoice that these insufferable witches are gone.
Andor is loved NOW - its ratings were lower than low, and some popular online critics were attacking bricks. We may have loved it, but at the time, it wasn't loved
I think as they repeatedly strive to make Star Wars worse and worse, the fanbase gets beaten down, almost to the point of submission. As the plan progresses, it makes you appreciate that the things you hated, could have been much worse. Case in point, Jar Jar is making a resurgence.
@@thisonecanplay Who is the 'they'? If you mean the review bombers, yeah they're the worst
Yeah, I was one of the people who was absolutely delighted by Andor from the 1-3 premier, but it sure felt a bit lonely as Andor hate was everywhere. All the review bombing hate, the ridiculously complaints of it being "woke" or whatever, it being BORING.
And also the ridiculous glee with which everyone was sharing how Andor supposedly had low viewership ratings (with obviously impossible graphs), how it was the worst Star Wars ever, how it proved Disney Star Wars was the worst, and Kathleen Kennedy was about to get fired for Andor's failure ...
It was just awful.
There's still plenty of haters gleefully proclaiming that Andor's viewership ratings were in the toilet.
Now The Acolyte is getting more hate and review bombing from the haters than Andor did, but at least the amount of dumb misinformation is less.
I loved it at the time.
I feel like the prison episodes of Andor were pretty unifying. I can't remember anyone hating on the show by that point.
The problem is is that this is shown in a serial episode by episode form, but it set up like a movie where we don’t get answers quick enough and this damages the entire show
Exactly! Releasing episodes week by week is why these reviews are so harsh... This generation isnt patient enough to see a movie a week at a time. SW might need to go to the Netflix method and just released the series all at once and let everyone watch at their own pace that way the reviewers can judge the show for what it is in totality, not week by week. I think the show is really good. Its not suppose to make sense in the 3rd episode, we gotta keep watching. It is telling a story and will all make sense by episode 8, JUST, like Andor. I remember the first few episodes of Andor were boring to most, but by the end those same people were praising Andor as being a great story. These reviews are hilarious.
But even if you link the 3 episodes together as a single watch….the incongruous story telling, ridiculous story telling, clunky directing, and overt social commentary is still painful. Should I really tolerate any show that needs to get past hour two of content before it gets interesting or makes sense??
They can't do that. Because Leslie headland doesn't have a clue about what she writing. She using episode serial number to prolong the comedy of garbage 🗑
The Mandalorian did it better by showing a shorter story almost every episode that was linked to the greater storyarc. And they had Baby Yoda😻
Thats literally was serialized television is lol
Even back (or forward lol) in the prequels George was hinting the Jedi were NOT perfect and kind of 'full of themselves... not evil maybe, but not gods- which is why Qui-Gon Jinn was having issues. Even Yoda talks about it - YODA: Yes, yes. It's a flaw more and more common among Jedi. Too sure of themselves they are. Even the older, more experienced ones.
So they're human? Unlike the girl boss women in star wars who are good at everything straight out of the box and who are "Practically perfect in every way". Please give them an umbrella and send them to the Banks children. We all need a break.
Don't trust your eyes. They can be misleading. That is a huge theme to this show.
True that.
Most definitely. Master Tol makes sure to tell the younglings this. It's a hint tonus as well; all is not as shown
Sol told us that right off the bat....
What are you going to do, trust your lying eyes or what we tell you?
yeah dont bother watching at all
I keep thinking about how Fight Club was something the director was thinking about when putting together this series. You really and truly do NOT know what’s going on until the very end. I think the best line so far is the theme for this series: It’s not about Good or Bad, it’s about who is allowed to use power. Jedi believe their understanding is the ONLY way to understand the Force. These witches don’t strike me as “Dark Side” witches-they just use the Force in ways the Jedi don’t.
One thing about Torbin’s scar-how can you be sure Kalnacca gave him that scar?
We're not sure. It looks like it from the trailers, but it's really hard to say.
Considering the Force had existed before sentient beings, is it that hard to believe that others who've interpreted it differently than the Jedi have, inspired the Sith to use it to create life? I think not...
I don't want to be close minded because of my love for the eu but I hope they can make sense of everything. I kinda like the Acolyte 😅 the story writers suck for sure but I'm hoping it gets better.
It would be nice to know why it took 6 years for Torbin to decide to take the vow, if it related to what happened in episode 3. He'd been in a trance for 10 years, and the event he feels guilty about happened 16 years ago.
He may be in shock. He is young. As he continues his path as a Jedi, he may realize what happened was an exception. As people age they tend to reflect more on the past.
@@glennbrown2704 He's not in shock it's just terrible writing. Nobody but the mentally unbalanced, poisons themselves over the screw up of another, especially when that other gave them the poison in the first place. It's "Die For My Sins" malarky. And the Jedi wouldn't bring in someone that mentally off.
@@tw19771 Dont be mentally unbalanced yourself. There might be a totally different reason he drank the poison, we haven't seen the whole season yet.
@@nikolaimyhre1187 Again, nobody but the mentally unbalanced would drink any poison to kill themselves, and especially not a Jedi. I don't need to see the rest of the season to know that. The Jedi go to great lengths to make sure they are emotionally centered.
What I’m kinda suspicious about is how he became a Jedi Master so quickly but maybe that’s just how it was in the High Republic m
“Your eyes can be miss leading” look at the light in the window during the Torbin poisoning scenes in episode two, the scenes between the twins happen at completely different times. I still think they are two people in the one body
Anybody notice Osha’s sketchbook is pyramid shaped like a Sith holocron?
And what looks like a Jedi emblem on the front when she starts it on fire.
Yeah, sure… but I feel like it was more like a triangle. In fact, if you payed close attention, the coven’s village esthetic has triangles all over the place. And I think that circles back to their phrase: “The power of one! The power of two! The power of many!” Which also has 3 phrases, like a triangle has 3 sides; 3 edges
Illuminati confirmed
@@ThunderBZaper Similar to a three-sided pyramid as well.
@@JohnFourtyTwo Yeah, true
I plan on reserving judgment until the entire season has played out. I did the same for the Kenobi series and the last episode brought everything together (for me, at least.) I won’t make an impulsive decision on the series based off of one episode. For, only a Sith deals in absolutes. 😆
Two episodes of an a whole series is called failure.
@@aramisone7198 Only a Sith deals in absolutes.
Yeah I agree, final judgment when all is seen.
What happens on Brendock stays on Brendock.
Theory: maybe Darth Plagueis taught the witches how to create life through the Force in exchange for something and the Zabrak Sith is “the one he cared about” that he kept from dying. Maybe Osha and Mae are family to Plagueis
The only reason they’ve had to say that is because so many stupid people took it at face value and didn’t notice the episode just had one word in its title. Of course this is from Osha’s perspective. Stone doesn’t burn.
The Jedi temple burned. It’s made of stone too.
LAVA !
Something very wrong happened. I think the Jedi carried out a witch massacre because of the possible disorder and turmoil caused by the fire. And the first to draw his lightsaber was Torbin, killing several witches, provoking a reaction from the remnants and forcing the other Jedi to attack to protect him.
I know this show isn’t the best, but I just wanna thank you for actually talking about, and analyzing THE SHOW and not just talk about how bad it is, or how bad the hatters are.
Dear Meg,
I like your positive attitude.
(That's why) You're my fav CZcamsr SW channel.
Thanx!

This is the way….Sköl
I don't know what is going on but I've enjoyed this series, I had absolutely zero expectations before it started but I'm enjoying what I've seen
It's a mystery you don't know every thing
yet. That's my view. 🤷🏼♀️
Thanks Meg 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
People seem to forget that when this show was first announced, it was said that this show would show the Jedi as antagonists.
Lol, they weren't, though. Osha says how many times she doesn't want to join the cult? Then she seems pretty excited to join the jedi. Then they witches seem like the bad ones. They even strike first after saying no violence. So I bet when they go back to say they're taking one of the kids. They switch the torbin to bot and the wookie fights torbin. Causing the rest of the jedi to attack the cult.
@@-cgranty2954 Bot Kelnacca gets a dose of black eyes and attacks Sol & Torbin in the trailers
You should rewatch and stop yapping
From a certain point of view. From another point of view they are the heroes.
@@-cgranty2954bro, it’s only the 3rd episode. My god how old are you?
I think it would be cool if somehow the Sith stole this coven's ancient ritual for their own purposes
I didn’t think it was that terminal yet. Open to the possibility that we are being led down the garden path so to speak, and later episodes could give context. I do think the script is poor, and prejudiced comments from the cast have alienated the fan base.
I think the haters are starting to show their true colors more and more. Acolyte is not the best I've seen from SW and I would be disappointed if neither Yoda, Plagueis, Tenebrous, Plo Koon or any of the other characters alive in this era would appear, but the show is decent so far.
The dump I took this morning was decent too.
@ nico The truth sounds like hate for people who hate the truth..
When I saw episode 3, I knew I was going to see Osha's perspective. It was confirmed when we saw scenes like Osha being tested by the Jedi or when she talks to Mother Aniseya etc. Next we should see Mae's perspective. Also the exchange between Osha and Mae "What have you done"., makes sense. They each think that the other did something wrong. Right now, Osha thinks Mae caused the fire etc. Now the next question is ...What does Mae think Osha did? After Mae's perspective, who's perspective is next? Maybe the Jedi. I wonder if this has something to do with the Jedi Covenant. We will see.
I expect the third perspective will either be Sol's or Qimir's. But I kinda wish it will be Indara's, placed at the end of the series. I just feel like it would be an interesting symmetry between the opening scene and ending with Indara's story.
@@IsaacKuo I would love to see Indara's perspective. She was leading the other Jedi and Master Torbin was her Padawan.

I will stay positive, and I believe we will get the full circle, as you say. When we have seen all points of views of this important day.
Never have my thoughts and feelings been so accurately described when referring to this show. An excellent video that respects all true fans of star wars.
Just wanna point out that the witches chant includes the same humming that the ewoks do when they see 3PO. I know it's probably just an Easter egg but, if it's in the show it's real in Disney star wars lore, the witches and the ewoks have roots in the same core religion.
EVERYTHING is now measured against "ANDOR". Probably should have expected that might happen.
Yeah pretty crazy & MANY who bash the Acolyte & mention Andor forget that these 2x beautiful Live Act Star Wars shows should not be compared 🙂 First one is without Lightsabers, Jedis & Sit. I'm with you. Ten years ago, this would have been a reasonable response.
do you step in crap, stop and think about what you're stepping in and not proceed? or do you keep walking thru the crapfield without a care to only get to the end, and realize, damn that was a lot of crap?
@@Reziichu That’s an interesting analogy.
@Reziichu why do care if someone else walks through crap or not. What kind of narcissist are you to assume that everyone has to think like you.
I do think they have a good opportunity if they did just show an altered version of events. Though i don't think Sol or Andara were involved with slaughtering witches then went on their merry way. Torbin is a mystery. So if they dont resolve what tragic thing happened beyond the fire then its a missed opportunity. Maybe we see koril save Mae from falling.
I think it is silly for people to be mad about where the story is going now. It’s like reading a book and being mad about how it ends without reading more than the first few chapters.
It is silly for people to be mad, because they don't have to watch the show, and nothing that happens in it actually changes anything anyway. I was a big fan of the 1980s He-Man cartoon... What Kevin Smith did more recently is irrelevant, because I never saw it and even if I did, it doesn't change the 1980s He-Man I loved. Same with Star Wars. I was done after TFA, so let them keep hiring fan fic writers and idealogues. I've got my own canon, and I'm good with that.
Well said I agree I will watch the force awakens but not my favourite or the last jedi and I got bored half way through the rise of Skywalker for me my favourite is the original episode and the episode 1 2 and 3
I called this after the episode. I think the female zabrak was clearly jealous and not on the same page as Mother Anastasia about much at all at this point. Also, yes you are only seeing Oshsa point of view this was announced before the series began and actually is from one of the actual samurai films that inspired Star Wars in George Lucas when writing the original trilogy. We will now soon start seeing these same events from different points of view. So that the audience can decide the good from the bad by watching different accounts of the same events. I don't mean to bust your bubble. I'm not a huge fan of Leslie Headland although I do like Russian Doll season one. Headline can get quite the mouth when she's on her soapbox sometimes. Those incidents should be also taken with a grain of salt. This s someone whose strengths are behind the camera not out in front with a microphone. That's for sure. She was also Harvey Weinstein's assistant which isn't exactly a good thing in my eyes.
But still you're trashing her after three episodes but you don't even have your own facts right? And I love the nonsense things you say. When everyone else already knew. Stuff that's already been said BEFORE yesterday. They're good things too. I have no idea what she said yesterday but she doesn't need to explain anything. There's no damage control and the show is making money and becoming well received by the real audience. I find it ironic that you probably started this to try to get Disney and Lucas Films to make a better product and now all you do is bash it. That's not how treat something the you love. I don't think you like Star Wars at all. And very clearly don't even understand it. You don't know its origins. You don't know that Headline is taking lore from the original trilogy source materials. The things you're bitching about are obvious with just a little Star Wars knowledge. We knew from the start and again it was flat-out said it will be from multiple points of view. Where have you been the past 6 months??? If you look at the mystery Sith Lord too one thing that I noticed is the Sith is petite for a Sith Lord and especially you can see the Sith isn't very tall. So my new guess is that the female Zabrak you're bitching about is actually this new Sith, we don't know yet though. But if you're waiting for it to be Darth Plagueis, Darth Tanabriss or even Lord Venomous. If you even know who they are. If you do it's not them. If you know about Star Wars you know there are many many groups of force users out there besides Jedi and Sith ... In canon. There's nothing wrong with doing that either as I just said it happens over and over and over again in Star Wars. On screen, in comics, in graphic novels, in regular novels, among hundreds of other short stories and video game cut scenes. But I digress.
Unfortunately I'm going to have to unsubscribe because you clearly don't know much of Star Wars lore. You're just going off live action TV and animation. There is a lot of older Star Wars lore that Headline is drawing from in the Acolyte series. She's trying to bring it back to a more old school George Lucas approach and you can't recognize it. As this has also been done in many of the Star Wars series they've made like Ahsoka.
Look there are real reasons to criticize Disney. But people like you don't care about reality. There are a whole bunch of you that at one time did reviews or were actual critics that have turned into a bunch of hack shows. You don't know what you're talking about. You don't know your facts and you just sound silly and stupid to me. Simply trying to pick something controversial to talk about just for click bait. Now you are all worthless in my eyes.
Why didn't you mention such cool facts like in some of the trailers we got you can see the Wookie Jedi attacking Padawan Torben. If you looked now last episode when the Jedi are on their way back to Coursant. Now Torbin has that fresh slice where his scar is later in life. You can see it. Also notice the Wookie Jedi is not with them when Oshsa wakes up. That's a great fact for a real review. You're welcome people that had to watch this nonsense. You're completely off base and are part of this very loud yet extremely minor group of people online spitting hate and venom like you because you got a little power. But you must study and learn , young one, from a Master before you preach it and teach it. Otherwise all you've taught us is that you're a fool. Don't you think? Foolish child.
May the force be with you. As it is with me ... for I am Sith. ☠️ & UNSUBSCRIBING, lol.
One thing that has become abundantly clear is that over the last 4 odd years there has been a vast reduction in audience sophistication. The number of fans who seem to need simple, linear narratives and want all answers up front is frankly astonishing. Possibly the dominance of short form video and whole season drop has undercut attention spans? Even Meg has changed in this manner over the years.
Sol's throwaway line from Episode 1, "Don't trust your eyes, they can deceive you" might not be so throwaway. A lot of Rashmon is going on here.
It is just a shame that "fans" and others are so against this show. I have not seen anything that has upset me. Why some people see it as their mission to bad mouth and try to destroy it is beyond me.
I am giving it a chance, but there's definitely something to the vitriolic backlash - this show is pretty heavy in the DEI agenda, like REALLY heavy and it's simply Headland agenda that a lot of people don't want shoved into Star Wars
it’s the 180m dollar budget that frustrates me. here we have a Star Wars show that was given a budget of 180m! that’s on par with Game of Thrones and Stranger Things! disney can hire the very best writers, actors, everything in the entire industry. and after the 180m and 4 plus years - we got… this. it’s just incredibly frustrating. this should be a very very good show that we all could be excited for each week. a great show. This is where we’re at. “i’ve not seen anything that upsets me.” that’s how far star wars has fallen. that is just unacceptable. saying well i’ve not seen anything truly offensive yet, it hasn’t made me want to shoot myself in the face or anything. Star Wars on a 180m dollar budget through 4 years should be held to a far higher standard than “i haven’t seen anything that upsets me.” it’s just so frustrating.
Some of us haven’t read all the books. Some of us don’t care that much how this story breaks something that really doesn’t matter. I watch the show. I enjoy it for what it is. So far, it’s entertaining me and that’s all that’s important.
It's dogshit
You don’t have to read the books to understand the lore and world building that was established. The books that came after only added to the lore, respecting the rules of the world George created. Disney Star Wars on the other is dramatically breaking the lore/concepts. It’s fine if you enjoy what you’re watching but all of this stuff that is getting added, changed, and rearranged is causing what made Star Wars great to not matter at all. So, why invest in it if we can just throw mud on the wall, to see what sticks, and call it art. It does matter when the force is supposed to be based on mysticism. It connects all living things in the galaxy and provides extraordinary abilities to some beings. But now, its origin is based on puppet string magic? Give it a break.
@@unanimousarts Lucas broke “The Force” when he introduced miticlorians. The witches in Ahsoka also broke the force with their magic.
This magic is just another cultures name and description of the Force. It’s not actually breaking the force in any way other in name. They are certainly toying with dark-side themes with what the witches are doing.
@@yophotodude7693 You’re right. A scientific explanation of the force was not needed but we also didn’t need a replacement for the force and call it the origin of it.
So what do you enjoy cause this isn’t Star Wars lol
The most frustrating part about Disney right now (both on the Star Wars side and the Marvel side) is that they haven't seemed to learn how to do television well yet. They don't understand modern audiences in that modern viewers expect immediate payoffs, and form hardline opinions based on single episodes and are not willing to change their views later. Disney compounds this problem by leaving too many questions unanswered both from week to week AND season to season.aybe there is this great thread that ties everything together, and it will all be revealed...someday...but in the meantime, a lot of people are pissed off and we all have to listen to it every week. They need to either release an entire season all at once, or at least not be so vague about the new concepts they are introducing. The thing that the original movie did well was that it demonstrated that, for example, Obi-Wan's beliefs aboit the Force are just his beliefs. They did this by having a foil--Han Solo-- to offer a counter perspective. That grounding perspective is missing here. It's not a problem that a witch coven has a different take on the Force, or that they call it the Thread. That actually is a good thing and adds nuance. It's just that there is nothing happening within that perspective to temper that and demonstrate that this viewpoint is simply a similar take on the Force that is coming from "a certain point of view" if you will. And then the payoff for this is just way too far in the distant future. It's just not working. So, for me, it's not really about the plot or the new perspectives. It's really jist aboit the delivery and the format. It's not working for the modern audience and their very short attention span.
Plagues and Palpatine together tried to make the force bend to their will and the force created Anakin to fight back
I thought it way pretty obvious we didn't get any real answers in the last episode; both about what happened during the fire and how The twins were created.
I’m hoping Ep3 was some sort of misremembered fever dream type of recollection from Osha’s POV. When things went awry, they just spun out of control immediately and didn’t make any sense. Mae suddenly wants to kill her? Fire is burning rock? The entire coven is dead? Mae falls, Osha nearly does, but Sol physically catches her (instead of using the force, like Ep2)? Just way too many weird things to NOT be intentional.
Plus Osha wakes up wearing a mask as if she were knocked out but that never happened
I really dont see the hate. The pacings a bit off but ive always enjoyed the cursed logic of the jedi, its about time it was explored
i think the pacing might seem off because things could be happening in different timelines, sort of like season 1 of Westworld?
OMG isn't it awful that they make us wait a FULL WEEK for an episode. We are Millenials and we get what we want when we want and it MUST be good or we will have a temper tantrum. That is the vibe I get, sorry "old" 52 year old Legends guy, yet again.😈😈😈
hahaha perfect!!!
How can Grogu lift a Rhino to save Mando after not using the force after 20 years but OSHA can’t use it to grab her drone to save herself after not using the force in way less the time?
The way some were talking I was expecting a HUGE problem but IMHO the "issue" was a BIG nothing burger. I thought this was the best episode so far but I thought the ending was rushed and overly janky to keep the mystery going.
**Starboys Games**
**The Mystery?**
So far, the show billed as a mystery has failed to deliver any genuine suspense, a point that critics have eagerly pounced upon. However, I believe this was intentional. The show aims to provoke a calculated outrage, creating misdirection in both the plot and among the audience. The real mystery may still unfold, with the initial episodes designed to deceive and mislead. The ultimate purpose? A grand "GOTCHA" moment.
**The Clues**
- All the witches were found dead in one spot.
- The fire didn’t kill them.
- There is no evidence that the Jedi battled them.
- They were poisoned by the yellow Bunta Tree.
- The fire spread too quickly for just one lantern.
- Was there another in the garden?
- Koril was meeting with someone else in the outer garden, leading to her timely discovery of the girls.
- What drives the Jedi to such guilt that they contemplate self-destruction?
- Are the twins truly Mother Aniseya's?
- Did Mother Koril secretly train Mae?
- Is Mother Koril collaborating with a Sith?
- Did that Sith actually mate with Koril?
- Is the masked figure Koril, or a Sith Lord?
I suspect the show is baiting the fandom into a premature reaction, only to pivot in future episodes and reveal a different reality. Critics should tread carefully; the creators may be setting up a "Gotcha" moment to expose the fandom and content creators as reactionary and unwilling to give the show a fair chance.
- Destroy the Concept of the Force
- Create children from the Force before Anakin.
- Portray the Jedi as genocidal murderers, only to later reveal this is not the case.
**Why Such Guilt?**
The show may reveal that all the Jedi failed for various reasons, only to later disclose that the mission was sabotaged by Koril or the masked figure.
**Their Crimes as Taught to Mae:**
- Master Sol (Squid Games) entices Osha to leave.
- The final fight with Mae will be hand-to-hand with Sol, who disarmed himself when he first met the twins and has shown superior hand-to-hand combat skills, which Mae must master to satisfy her own teacher.
- Master Torbin, likely a medical specialist, took samples of the twins on the ship. He was supposed to synthesize a sedative from the tree, but the dosage was tampered with. His poisoned death at Mae's hands is poetic justice.
- Master Indara (Trinity) killed Mother Aniseya. Finding her coven dead, she retaliated only to be killed while unarmed. The blade to the heart from Mae serves as poetic justice.
- I am uncertain about Master Joonas Suotamo’s (Wookie) crimes, but he was repairing the speeder, suggesting he is an engineer. He was supposed to shut down a generator, which then exploded, likely due to sabotage. He will probably die in a future episode by explosion.
This analysis could be entirely wrong, and the show might simply be poorly executed with an uninspired creative team. However, I believe some of these points will be validated in future episodes if viewers continue to watch.
Meg, the mother said it about power, it took me back to when Aniken refused to become God! The story is told from the force's prospective, power hates a vacuum , the force hates Aniken and the girls are born. I giddy as a school with anticipation. As a child Osha said, she saw a flame that consumed everything in it path. Order 66 never sat right with me, so I hope this start the whole thing over and she destroys the Jedi and the sith, now bring in star killer only to destroyed Osha and her sister whom is not dead because one manifest the other.
I’m absolutely loving this show and can’t wait for the next episode ❤
How did Torbin become a Master only 16 years after being a padawan? 10 of which were in a trance without speech.
The fandom, much less critics, have been displeased with anything and everything. Take it for what it is, something we didn’t have before this month.
People taking things not adding up in a mystery show as writing flaws is so rediculous that it feels like a fever dream.
The series is rife absolutely non-sensical things, that have nothing to do with evolving plot, or "we'll have to see how this plays out." There are just a bunch of things completely contradict what was said 2 minutes earlier in the same episode by the same person, continuity problems, etc. I'm fine with "not having all the answers to everything" early on in a series, but that's not what the problem with this is.
Unless you know what quality of writer Headland is... After the last episode, see how many of your questions have been satisfactorily answered.
@@bsmithhammer they are supposed to contradict eachother because it makes you as the viewer ask questions.

@@TJ347 Oh? And what quality writing projects in Headland's past would you point me too, then?
I think that the masked sith character is definitely the mother with the head horns.
Mae didn't die but was burned badly so she hides her deformities under the Sith disguise. Osha, out of guilt splits her personality and one side becomes Mae.
I really am enjoying the show. To each his own, I’m looking forward to the next episode.
she going to make the jedi look even worst then Disney has....thats the twist...watch
We don't know that plague is too young at this point, he could have already been extending his life by this point. This could have been a preliminary experiment leading up to the creation of Anakin
In the trailer we see all witches have black eyes and Kelnacca. I think it was a witch who took control, too. 👌🏼
Anyone notice during the accession the mother was flanked by two hooded figures not armed with bows and swords like the guards they weren't participating in the ritual ether just there hooded and faceless but in the shot after its announced the jedi will arrive imminently they vanish and arent seen again
Hello 👋 Meg.
I think 🤔 the mother witches is a Abeloth cult. The sith mask with the big alien mouth screams Abeloth. I think 🤔 Brendok is/was an ancient prison for Abeloth. The twins were created to free her maybe?
Btw , Koril has the mark of a Mandalorian heart on the forehead!!!
I look forward to the next episode.
If u listen in on episode 3, there was some kind of explosion where all the witches were, which prob wasn’t maes involvement…the dude in the watto gift shop 2.0 is sketchy too
-“ooh tee nee”
I hope the sith is neither quimir or the witch.
If you have to tell the fans to hold on, be patient, and keep watching then you have produced a good product or story.
It's amazing people will gladly accept anything.
Additionally in the promo they kinda ruined it that qymir isn’t the site acolyte because the character says the Jedi will pay for their crime of killing my sisters
Im really disappointed, but not surprised by all the hate watchers for this show lol its really not that bad. My friends and i were speculating about episode 3!! Really got us thinking about how this coven is related to the Nightsisters and Mountain Clan on Dathomir. Its got our attention for sure!
Well the Jedi ahowed up demanding people's kids. Didnt work out peacefully at all. THAT is the guilt. And it's warranted. Also Kymere is not your sith. You may however have nailed ir on one of the Witches tho. Maybe the mother herself. We shall see
I thought the episode was good and I stand by my opinion. It's perfectly okay to have a different opinion, as long as you don't attack others with it right away or threaten them. The Acolyte shows us what a broken world we unfortunately live in
I agree Disney is running out of steam… so they back fill; but after ep3 I want to watch the first two episodes again and 2nd watch the movie Phantom Menace! 1st the mother mother may of used the floating Jedi to kill peoples in fire or the real Mae(the Mae that went through the event… and have Sol with his line of she didn’t have mark on forehead; why have him say that)((the real Jedi to be trained)(ohs went behind Mae right?))made the floating Jedi kill the witches? 2nd Mother mother could she be related to Anakin’s Mom? O and guy in the helmet could related to Gollum!
During the first two episodes, though i liked the action in them, i started to have doubts about the plot, but i also started to wonder about the dark jedi behind all of this...now it gives answers be questions and verifies theories that existed for years. I love the plot and now i'm waiting for the big turn of the events.
Meg, the girls remind me of a sword and shield. Osha is the sword, which must be single- minded and oshi, many as she blocks the mother with this power.
I love Star Wars, I always have.
The Acolyte is new, a different take and a way of looking at things.
Is it the best, in the first instance maybe not…., but it’s a flowing storyline that needs to roll out and I’m prepared to do so.
What annoys me more than anything is that this was set up to fail before it premiered by an assembled mass.
IMO, watch it for what it is, be open and see where the ride takes it!
Did that already with the sequels, turns out people were right from the start.
@@Martin-ve9exJust because a few couple of people were right about the failure of an entire trilogy doesn’t mean they will always be right. Because Disney has had some successes along with some failures, so you can’t always just believe what people say is right. After all, our world is fueled with misinformation, especially on the internet. The only way to know for sure is to experience it for yourself and let yourself decide what you think
No, thank you.....I ran out of barf bags in the middle of episode three....
That one guy in ep 2 thats working with mae said something to be jedi about dont do that memory wipe thing or whatever you do whay if oshas memory was altered by the jedi after whatever traumatic event happened similar to how revans mind was reprogrammed in KOTOR and the jedi gave her a new memory of what happened
I genuinely don't think the Jedi killed the witches, at least not on purpose or with intention to massacre them.
When we see Osha's escape sequence, there's a moment when she hears numerous witches all cry out at once. The bodies are way too neatly piled up to have perished in a chaotic confrontation. It's almost like they all died at once, and that's not something I think the Jedi could do if they wanted to, unless they did something without knowing what they did.
Certainly there was some kind of conflict in the fortress, but things aren't adding up.
There's another thing that caught my attention: the vows that Mei took during the ascension. Mei vowed on Mother Anaseya's DEATH. She vowed her death to keep the secrets of the coven. I wonder if there is some sort of witch magic that made this vow binding and played a role in the death of the witches.
Those Jedi information pamphlets are exceedingly flammable, aren't they?
The dark sider isn’t a Sith, the rule of two exists at this point because of Darth Bane who is canon, at this point in time Plageius and Teneborus are alive who are also canon. So who ever is holding the red lightsaber isn’t a sith.
Folks who need immediate answers are the young who have no idea of patience, story building, character introduction, etc. They're part of the instant gratification generation.
Patience. Enjoy the adventure.
As someone that has followed your channels since the Mandalorian first season, you have a pattern. You're always hyped for each show and seemingly let down for a myriad of reasons. We always have nostalgia for our childhood Star Wars and the impressions it's left upon us. If we really analyze the science behind it all much of it doesn't make sense. Personally the way The Acolyte is unfolding is very interestingly, I don't believe anything is as it appears. We are being tricked and it's likely not divisive at all and well thought out. We may still be left with a mystery of which perspective to believe, it's great that this show is challenging.
I think that grinning Sith helmet might fit over Koril's horns. 🤔
But she is die
@@gabrieleguasti5503Her body was not among the dead witches.
@@user-zl9sh9mz6h it's not the first corpse?
Yep, because "Power of one, power of two, power of manyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy" (cringe)
I was wondering if Zabraks could wear helmets…
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but morgan elsbeth in ahsoka calls the force “the threads of fate” multiple times. Cool little witch connection
I’m waiting for the scene of the Witch Coven planning to sacrifice and eat the children…with the Jedi coming in at the right time to save Mae and OSHA. Yet a Dark forced (Sith?) Witch using dark force to possess the Jedi to start the fire and kill the Coven witches seems plausible
So glad that you brought up the format.
It’s been an issue from the beginning, with most of the content on Disney +.
It is very hard to appreciate a 3-5hr story, when the story is questionably chopped up into 8 pieces, and you only get one/wk.
Sure, some of the content would be awful regardless of how they dropped it, but the current format is doing neither the show, nor the fan base, any favors.
Like many others, I will wait until the end to make an informed opinion.
The only way to save this story is a twist that the sith figure is the girls real father, and they weren't conceived by the force. They've stomped all over the original Canon and made Anakin's origin meaningless.
Or cancel it.
Not all it makes Plagueis and Sidious creating Anakin through he force cannon.
100 years is not a long time, considering everything that is happening and how close we are to the TPM events. We also dont know what the prophecy actually is? nobody has ever stated the prophecy... we just know pieces.. that a chosen one would come to bring balance to the force. it is implicated that this chosen one would be a virgance in the force.... it just means that the chosen one would be a virgance not that there couldnt be other virgances... also Obi thinks that Anakin didnt do it right... you were supposed to bring balance to the force not put it in darkness... so if all the jedi where alive during this moment to discuss they would just say.. ok well this isnt the one... we will have to wait for the real chosen one.. the twins if they are virgance in the force just arent the real ones.
I am an older guy, 54. I watched the first movie in the cinema in 1977. I dislike parts 7,8 and 9, because they are written without any logic or continuity. But I like Rouge One and Solo. This story is more complex than the movies I personally dislike. The Acolyte has in my view a sense of continuity, character building and suspense. The thing is with Star Wars we all have our expectations and ideas, and we, the consumers have to distance ourselves from our own presumptions. You need to watch every sequel or spinoff blanco.
I'm a 70 y.o. guy and I wholeheartedly agree with you.
Im 57 and absolutely agree.
I'm a 420 year old man and think Solo sucked.
50 here. I’m with ya Bruvs. lol to the solo comment. Sköl
Everybody say “thank you Dave Filoni”
The show is called the Acolyte, Mae vowed to be an acolyte. I feel the Jedi showed up in the wrong place at the wrong time and witnessed or had to kill all the witches and did not want Osha to know the truth.
2:24 Non Flesh & Yes Potatoes or Steamed Rutabaga 🙂
LOL!--Episode 3 is not divisive. Too many fans are simply sensitive and impatient...CALM DOWN.
All will be revealed in time. I believe the showrunners are doing excellent allowing the story to unfold, while giving us water-cooler material from week to week.
I'm sorry ppl, but after Mando and Andor, this is the 3rd best SW series, till this point. I think we are searching for things to hate and nitpick. Also, a lot of people that is complaining are not really watching the show. In RT many comments are the same copied and pasted. This is the first time that I think a group of the fans are really toxic.
No
Disney should concentrate on Disney and let Faloni handle Star Wars.I wanna see Master yoda.
Dave filoni does control star wars. Nothing gets made now that doesn't get checked over by him and by association Geroge. It has been this way for two years
I thought that you "Super fans" hated Faloni too. You like you have hated everyone and everything remotely involved with Lucasfilm for the last few decades.
They have to atleast include plagueis eventually as hes mentioned in revenge of the sith. It may not be in the acolyte since it takes place a century prior to the clone wars but they cant outright get rid of plagueis as hes implied in ROTS to be Palpatines sith master
Might have been too soon for that Huge L for Darth Plagieus vid…the show deserves to at least tell the complete story before it’s judged by anyone. Give it a chance, ffs.
And the Forbes article was a complete pile of shit.
Thank you for the video and your assessment. I'm sure that the series keeps misleading us with its jumps in time and perspective. In particular, many who remain in the echo chamber of anger and rage and forget to actually watch the series are lured onto the wrong track ;-) You have to pay very, very close attention to every detail. That's why the series piqued my interest. For example, Torbin's wound on his left eye in the Jedi spaceship's infirmary. Or the witch mark on Mae's forehead (which Osha doesn't have), which will probably soon tell us whether Mae and Osha are really two different adult individuals or just one person who has a split personality or is being manipulated. Unfortunately, it's always hidden by the hairstyle. Episode 3 is certainly full of mysteries and clues.
Regarding Mother Koril, I am now very sure that she is one of the Sith. She is impatient, envious, aggressive, overly strict and she is driven by fear, rage and ambition. She seems like someone who is consumed by the dark side. I have the impression that her eye colour is also slowly changing from green-brown to yellow-orange. Maybe I'm wrong about that. But she's the No. 1 candidate for me.
Whether we'll hear from Plagueis, Tenebrous or Venamis remains to be seen - as does their gender, age and species, which as far as I know are not currently canon.
I think Koril caused the incident after growing jelealous and framed the jedi. I also believe that she joined the Night Sisters afterwards and at some point became an apprentice.
People keep assuming that the Sith had to be involved in the immaculate conception and Plagueis had to have shown them. This could be how Anakin's creator, Plagueis or Palps, learned to do it, by studying old witch clans that the Jedi hid from the records. This could be the source of that knowledge that the Jedi found to be...unnatural.
There is only ONE way Mae is alive and harboring hate against Jedi. That’s if Coral is the Sith Master, she is the only one who can reliably say and convince Mae of the events of that night. Because if Mae was the one who started the fire than there’s no reason to go hunting Jedi.
