  • Putting a rear rack on my mini bike. The Coleman BT200x. The rack is the rks200a that comes on some ct200u mini bikes. The second method shown late in the video can be used to install the rack on the ct200u-ex and the exr mini bikes from Coleman.
    Possibly the best mod over done to my mini bike to date. Will have some more performance mods coming up with the predator engine and the tillotson 212r. Hope to get a homemade small engine Dyno in the works here soon.
    Have a great day!

    i saw one the bt models at wally world i was considering buying it but decided against it because after sitting on it i felt cramped up ..i did eventually settle on the ct 200 u ex though i like that one it fits me better im 5ft. 11in . although admittedly the ct 200 u ex isnt really suited for trail riding the handle bars need a support rod and the foot pegs are too far forward ... but these are all mods that can be done fairly inexpensively

      @@GeorgiaRidgerunner Yea, I went into a swamp and used it like a quad with its fat tires, went through some tall grass and what do you know I snapped the spring in my clutch. Didnt notice at first then eventually it wouldn't slow down and it started moving on its own, Had to killswitch it to stop one time and now I'm going to P.A to buy a new clutch. I recommend using that bike on dirt roads or paved roads, Gravel is iffy but drivable. You can go on trails are long as there well maintained and not too over grown

    Like others on here, I also have the coleman ct200u ex and I cannot find the full assembly for this rear rack anywhere. I'm considering just fabricating one and having it welded or bolted onto the frame. Any suggestions or tips for this method? Oh while I'm here I also have this issue with my bike where the bike does not want to stay in idle and well move forward on its own and start to accelerate, does anyone know how to fix this issue it gets increasingly worse.

      @megoingfast  Před 4 lety

      If making your own, you can sometimes find extended rear axle bolts at home depot and the supports going to axle are key. Otherwise, gopowersports has individually: the axle, support rods, and rack right now. Needs spacers, they do not have a kit I've seen. I have not seen the kits recently, but a couple sellers have just the rear rack on amazon at higher prices.

    • @megoingfast
      @megoingfast  Před 4 lety +1

      If your idle is high, you will want to lower the idle with the idle screw - counter clockwise. Also, make sure your clutch is properly oiled so it is not the culprit and starting to bind.

      @@megoingfast Well I figured out what happened, the spring in my clutch had snapped just a little bit and got increasingly worse over time. Hence why I couldn't slow down. Sometime in the middle of aug, I'm going to P.A to buy a new clutch.

    Gonna have to make my own rack for my ex. The kit on the coleman website is only $39.99. Get this...shipping to Hawaii is $119.28. What a rip off.

    • @megoingfast
      @megoingfast  Před 3 lety

      I've seen a couple people cnvert motorcycle rear racks that cost about $20 off amazon. Might be a place to look into. Either that, or conduit and a vise to clamp the edges and welding (but without galvanized zinc poisoning - needs special care) and it goes fast. I've made a few similar like that.

    Hello this is very helpful. I have the CT200u-ex coleman which is camo. Do you think this back rack could fit on in the same way? The metal tube behind the seat for mounting is a bit different than the BT200.

    • @jcargentum
      @jcargentum Před 4 lety

      Also did you have to use a different rear axle bolt, as i can only find the back rack itself online currently and not the kit with the two supports and attaching hardware.

    • @megoingfast
      @megoingfast  Před 4 lety +1

      People have used very similar to the second method I showed quickly towards the end of the video for the ex. You should not put it on the frame, but can put it on the fender bracket/holder.
      The bolt and extra spacers came in the kit. The axle/bolt is about 13" long. Axle bolt that came with bike is 11 1/2".

      @@megoingfast Thanks, I dont know why people are selling the rear rack all by itself online, I will have to look for the kit. That rear axle bolt and spacers seems critical.

      I am also trying to install on a CT200u-ex and did not find the kit. If I get the 13 in bolt/axle how big of spacers will I need?

  • @ForrestZX

    I’m trying to do this same install. My bt200x doesn’t have the 2 spaces on the outside and it seems like the rear axle bolt is too short. There’s not enough thread for the rack support bracket. Am I missing something? Do I need the rear axle bolt from the ct200?

    • @ForrestZX
      @ForrestZX Před 4 lety

      I think that is what I need since I had to buy the parts separately.

    • @megoingfast
      @megoingfast  Před 4 lety +2

      Yes, the new bolt is 13" (that comes with the full kit) and the stock one is 11". You also need two additional spacers the same as the stock ones. Sorry for late reply, CZcams stopped giving notifications this week.

    • @ForrestZX
      @ForrestZX Před 4 lety +1

      You good. Thanks though I appreciate it! I couldn’t find a full kit in stock or the 13 inch axle with spaces. Most likely because of part shortages due to the pandemic. However, I was able to run one support bracket onto the rear rack and still run the bike. It’s holding up well at the moment until I can get the other parts in the future.

      @@megoingfast just wanted to double check before ordering the new bolt. Your new bolt that came with kit is 13” long including the head of the bolt, correct?
      Wondering if it’s spec is in line with this Chinese aftermarket bolt.

    What size are the inner spacers (closest to wheel/smaller ones) on yours from the video? I just used both my normal spacers from mine and what came in kit so theyre both the same size. Works but causing some minor issues where I need to keep adjusting chain tension/axle/etc.
