Man, I have to come back and thank you. All your tips are instant game changer, especially looking at the middle blocker. I just watch this video a few days ago, today in my game I got more points than I ever have. Thank you, keep up the good work~
Hey! Thanks for coming back and sharing your experiences! So happy it's helped you and you've been able to see results! Keep working hard! 🙏
for newer players i think it’s important to explain how to jump diagonally at the ball and not just vertically. this was a massive problem for me when i first started and it made me constantly look very awkward, hit net, and just get blocked.
hmm, sounds intersting, do you mean jumping sideways as in your going towards the net through the air once you jump?
I think he’s talking about broad jumping up and forward towards the ball
Yeah, unsure what jumping diagonally means... Sorry. I'm thinking you're talking about approaching on an angle?
Which is a very important tip!
@@coachartieI think he means broad jumping
@@coachartie i believe he means jumping into the ball instead of just straight up just behind the ball (of course not directly into the ball)
For a while I struggled a lot with hitting, then I tried out the 4 step approached and I've greatly improved my spiking since in such a short amount of time.
Thank you coach.
This really broadened my perspective of what is the spike actually about, especially the part about what we’re lookin at and tools of how to use that information.
I’m still struggling with the 4-steps due to playing open gym only with inconsistent sets but thanks to you I discovered I have a lot of other things to learn.
I appreciate your work a lot.
Wish you merry Christmas and a happy New Year + countless volleyball games in good health ❤️🍀🍀
Wow, just wow! I can't wait to share this with my daughter, best spiking video I've seen and I've watched them all, thank you!
Wow, thank you! Very high praise! Hope your daughter learns a bunch 😊
You are one of the best Coaches ever 👍
Wow High Praise! Thanks for your support!
Good advice, thanks coach!
Thank you so much for the advice you keep up the good work man
Kia ora from USA... Good stuff. Going to try 4 step
This is a video I've been waiting for and it was full of great info and mindset points. Thank you Artie you're videos are amazing.
Wow you're words are so kind 🥲
I'll keep working hard! 🙏🙏🙏
Artie! Thank you! My biggest weakness is hitting/scoring points. I am a quick defender, a good serve passer. But my attack lacks...something. You opened my eyes. I thought I have to hit hard and fast but the "Toolbox" tip was just amazing. Thanks bro!
Thank you only been playing for about 3 months and im learning spiking this was very helpful
Good luck in your vball journey! Excited for you 🙏
Ty for all the tips.
I going to work and see the results.
Hope it helps 😊
Coach, My 13 year old is loving your videos, thanks for continuing to make these videos!
That is awesome! Hope theyre helping!
Grrrreaaaaaaat!!!!!!
Thaaaanks coach Artie!!! 😊
Glad I could help!
thanks from California, coach Artie!
Thanks for watching!
Gotta try it the next time, thanks for the Tipps
Keep me updated! Keen to hear how the tips go for you! 🙏
Thank you
Siempre que encontraba sus videos alcanzaba a entender lo que comprendo debido al lenguaje pero gracias a que CZcams pone subtítulos en español de una mejor manera entiendo mas al entrenador y fue de mucha utilidad, gracias 👍👍
So glad CZcams can do that! I wish I could do subtitles myself... But Im not even good at English 😂
Hey man just wanted to say thank you for all the tips, as u said in the video we don't want to be just some mediocre hitters. See ya when im gonna be playing for my national team italy❤
this guy is awesome
That’s some helpful information to grow above mediocre!!
Hope it helps 😊
Thanks coach, very cool.
Welcome
damn your tips really open my minds on a lot of dubts that i had on the block reading
Hope it helps
Nice video! helps to learn a lot!! Could you make a video of master the block? Telling us how to close the block and when to close and open the line? etc... Thanks coach!!
Great idea! You spitting fax with that video title aswell! Master the Block!
I'm putting it on the ideas list thanks 🙏
Finally, something valuable and free. Have you thought of doing game analysis of national teams?
For a long time I struggled with volleyball. Then I got old and now I really struggle!
Thanks!
Thanks for supporting the channel with your super thanks 🙏 Very appreciative ☺️
Bro u help me a lott
I appreciate it brother
This makes me happy! I'm rooting for you bro 🙏
damn i learn a lot love you
So happy to help 😊 🙏
I watched this earlier at 2am and when i got to school i tried to do the tips cause i dont know how to spike properly and all of the tips worked
thank you very much now my teammates wont get mad at me
ps: i only played volleyball last year and im subscribing to you now 💜💙💜💚
So glad it helped! Continue to work hard!!
I personally like to use side steps after an attack as it is also resting time, not only for the legs, but more importantly for the brain being swushed around in your skull. Turning all the time gives me just a slight hint of vertigo which weakens my approach significantly!
Thanks Coach Artie for the help. I love your energy and your wisdom. "If you don't fail you will never learn... Force yourself to be uncomfortable because if you don't you will stay mediocre." Love it. I will continue to work hard.
thanks coach, any tips on how to practice spiking alone? without a setter?
Thank you for this coach aaaarrrrtieeeeee
Thank you 🙏 🥲
Thank you Coach Artie, as someone who’s been struggling to even know how to approach once I know the ball was up for me, this cleared some problems I could do, now the next step is to actually implement it in practice to perfect it 😂 if as a fan, I was wondering, along with this video, do you have a video of “how to hit harder?” Or to generate more force against the ball, I’m confused and arguing with myself with the arm swing I should do, how should I do it, where should I contact the ball, how should I contact the ball, etc etc but even searching it up doesn’t make enough sense to me and you’re the best at explaining things so I hope if you know how to clear that up in a video or a previous video you’ve already done, I would love to check it out to see. Thank you and God bless
Thanks sir for your kind information and tips ❤
@Coach Artie - any tips for teaching players actually HOW to be more explosive during the approach? Specific cues that you find useful? Thanks!
Im just watching this
So i could practice, since i havent played an actual game for a long time and my skills have become rusty and so im watching this because i have a non official match next month
So thank you for the reminding me of these tips
So glad I could help! 😊
you're so cool coach artie
Im doing my best 😊
I'm playing tonight. You got 10 mins max 🤪 Self-taugh here. Thanks for the video. It's the small details that take us to the next level.
Hope the vid helped 🙏
@@coachartie Very helpful. Now, I just need to process the info, assimilate it, try it, fail, try it some more, fail some more, and then boom, master spiker it is😉
hi coach i wanted to ask if you can do a video how to do a good jump serve or a float serve etc. Also I learned a lot thanks coach!
Great idea it's going on the ideas list.
Also thanks for your kind words 🙏😊
I've always been doing the 4 step approach, I just feel more in synch w the setter when I do it
Me too!
Such a useful video, I will try them, also, what camera do you use to record your videos? because I would like to record my trainings but I dont have a good camera so I'm planning to buy one I just dont know which one
Thanks for your support! I use to just use my phone but recently was able to save up enough for the Fuji Film Xs-20. But thats cause I've also gotten into photography recently so I wanted a hybrid. Theyres so many good cams out there
Coach can you make a video on land because when I land after a boom jump my legs start hurting and I can't keep on the boom ..
I can jump 327 cm while spiking and 307 cm while blocking
This awesome but i keep hitting my ball wrong like i hit it with my wrist and with only my fingers got any tips i am also a bit short so hiw do i jump higher
Hay coach when i starts to hitting the toss, i felt like a pain around my elbow... do you have any suggestion for me?
I’m a middle and please, would you please make a video about middles for hitting, blocking and everything else that good to know for a middle 😅. I’ve played volleyball for around 5 years however havent got very good. Likely because I’m less athletic, the whole time of course i havent been practicing, my first like 3 years I wasn’t learning much as I was in primary and it I wasn’t as serious but I know that tips and techniques can improve my game a lot so please 😅, could you make a video for middles so I can become a better middle and player for my team 😊. (Also any tips for how to hit better for a less athletic player with low hops😅)
I'm rooting for you!
Ill going to try and run through most positions with 5 tips for each. So I will get to it!
Middle tips and smarter plays for shorter hops! It's on the to do list 😀 🙏
sorry new to this sport (basketball player) but do you need a high vertical in order to spike the ball? I have a low vertical not even above average
Could you make a video about tips for every position? Would help me a ton!
Agreed!
This is a great idea! Writing it down on my ideas list right now
i am 175 cm or 5'9 and whenever i played volleyball at school i was always decent partly cuz of being a sprinter and being athletic with a good jump, i was better than most simply cuz of that. But now i am gaining in interest in switching sports to volleyball i am almost 19, am i too late or not tall enough cuz according to google the avg height for volleyball pro is 6'8.
Yes, a more explosive approach can make a hit harder, but I find that slowing it down a little bit and messing with the timing can really fake out blockers and give me a better analysis of the blockers and defenders. Power isnt the only important part of the hit, assessing the court and ball placement is just as important.
I agree! You’re doing that intentional which is great. I think a lot of people are doing it without thinking about it which is the real problem.
i naturally jump with my left foot then right but im right handed so how do i fix my approach without it feeling unnatural
Coach Artie, do u think u can make a video about what coaches are looking for during state team tryouts?
Its going on the to do list 🙏
Aunthie🌟😂
Lol your my actual coach in Brisbane. I had no clue you had a CZcams channel. See you next season
WHO???
Can teach me how to do jump float serve
this vid was more of a pep talk then a toturial
nah i’ve had such an explosive approach that i got a cramp i give my explosiveness a 10/10
4:00 Genuine ostrich!!! 😂
This guy gets it!!! 🤣
Well said, a lot of these videos are all about just empty techniques, but this guy gives the secret sauce of life to the game.
Aww man! Super High Prase! Thanks! Hope it helps 😊
I strggle with blocking, was wondering if you'd do a video on blocking?
Its on ym to do list, but havent recorded yet. Will come eventually 😊
Any tips on how to not close eyes when blocking and hitting. Any drills?
I use to struggle with this! I honestly think it's just exposure therapy! Expose yourself as much as possible 😁 sorry it's not super helpful lol
Great video! I have a question for you related to spiking. I'm an agressive player and, of course, sometimes I'm in the backlane cause of rotation. Then I'm never sure when I can spike in the attack zone. I know that when I jump above the zone I can hit the ball, but when I'm in the attack zone can i just jump in place and attack the ball or do I have to come from behind the attack zone?
When in the backcourt you can't jump in the frontcourt to attack. You can still hit the ball but you can't jump and spike. Behind the attack line however you can jump and hit however you like.
If you start in the back court as long as you jump from the back court you can hit. It's about your starting rotation on court. That's what dictates where you can hit.
It's also where you jump. If you're back court and jump from back court all good.
You might see some pros jump from back court and spike pretty much on the net cause they crazy. Totally legal at this time.in the game.
As an OH i must say after seeing this video, i feel like i need to go shopping for my toolbox
Can't wait to hear how it goes 😁
Artie ❤
🙏🙏🙏
Have you done a video on jump setting
Not yet! Still trying to figure out the tips I want to share for jump setting.
I learnt it quite naturally and I find the things I learnt naturally the hardest to teach. So we'll see how we go!
hey there, are there 4 steps also when you hit on the right?
Hell yeah!
bro this went from a simple tips and tricks video to one of the best motivation videos i have seen in a while. great job. just one question was this scripted or not ?
Wow thanks so much for your kind words! I love trying to add in more than the game!
All these videos I wrote down the skills I want to share, then click record and pretend I'm coaching the camera like I'd coach a player.
Again thanks for the support and kind words 😊
Torso rotation
I need to remember I’m a setter😂. YOUARE A SETTER LANDON
R u from oojh and currently freshman in Niles North high school located in smoke il?
LIVE!
How can I avoid the opposing team's blocks?
Either you spike the ball to their fingure tips or do Asahi boom spike
I got a second degree sprain on the ankle and its gonna be 2 months without playing, it is really frustrating and I’m looking for any tips or experiences, I’m following the recovering plan that my doctor and physiotherapist, but I want to recover asap and I still can’t run or jump :(
I feel you I sprain or twist stuff every 5 minutes (joint problems) spend this time working on hand form like sets
I'm a 11 year old volleyball player I already know everything but still thanks for the tips and W vid
I'm glad it's up to your standard 🙏
Thanks for your kind words ☺️
Muchas gracias por tu contenido, es realmente valioso lo que compartes, me gustaría ver más contenido enfocado a los entrenadores, metodologías o algo por el estilo, enseñanza en niñas por ejemplo, saludos desde Veracruz, México
Hi coach,i am 5 10 with a decent vert i can spike but its just so so can you give some tips for short spikers to improve their spiking
I'm 5'7'' so you know. If you believe your vertical is already very good, I would watch some arm swing technique videos. There is a lot that can be adjusted there to improve your spiking ability. Also, being physically trained can help too. It took me years to improve my spiking technique as I'm self-taugh and I still see plenty to improve. A little bit of self reflection, watching videos and trying what you learn during league games or practices go a long way.
Don't be shy to fail while trying new stuff because it's part of the process to learn and improve.
Good luck on your path to improvement. 💪
Time
Tips for my short king! 👑 Putting it on my ideas list! 🙏
if my coach see im turning around to get away from the net for the spike i think he's wanna punsh me or something because "you can not look at the ball when turning around." hahaha
Tell him to give it a go! Open minds learn more! 🙏🙏🙏
Im a libero watching others spike, who knew it also worked for me after watching it
Hell yeah 😁
I do serve floaters but hey i can at least play as a left hitte now :D
@@coachartie

I'm so beginner I stopped watching past the 2 minute mark😭. I'll come back when I can sync up my 4 step with the set
It might be alright to still have thewse things in mind when you grow as a player
david gogan ahh speach
Do you have setter drills with no balls?
I read "skiping tips" at first, and now I'm really disapointed
Womp womp
not quite beginner tips honestly, guess I'll return to the video when I can spike consistently
It is called spike like a pro
mate you literally took 7 steps and said "4 steps back"
Counting is hard
