Bruce Brown for OKC's #12 Pick. They have the cap space to not have to trade a player back
Why do OKC do that though? The more realistic movement would be Poeltl for #12
@@e1ic1 What are the chances a #12 would be anywhere close to Poeltl
@@keithmoriyama5421 Ya its an interesting situation.. poetl is 29 and in his big man prime and is a solid center.. but are the raptors ready to push for playoffs? and apparently poetl wants to be on a competing team not a rebuilding team.. so do you try to make playoffs this year with this roster or trade poetl now?
Okc not trading the 11th pick for an expiring contract
@@Wrestle_Kingdom Maybe we can add one of our 2024 picks
I keep telling you guys no matter how Brown plays with us his value is going to remain. Why ? We were crap with no direction so teams are taking that into consideration. Also Brown said he was playing injured which is only going to help us move him. Brown already built his reputation on the biggest stage in the game. Believe it or not he was a key glue guy that helped Denver win the championships and that makes him highly valuable to a team that believes they’re right there. I won’t be surprise if a team like Memphis shows interest because they were right there before all their injuries and they don’t have time to waste with Ja showing superstar potential. Any of these teams in the playoffs right now can use Bruce Brown.
The real reason why he's valuable is he's on an expiring contract.
@@S1MONPHOEN1Xit’s not just because of that. Teams don’t just offer up first round picks just because you’re on a expiring contract. I don’t think Raptors fans understand how good Brown was on both ends of the floor during Denver’s championship run. Denver wanted him back desperately but the Pacers gave him a big contract. Brown proved himself on the biggest stage and was a factor on that team that won championship. He wasn’t just a passenger on the ride like Lin was with us. He was actually a factor. Teams are going to look at the Raptors situations and say it was a dysfunctional situation which likely impacted his game, or it was his injury. Hell they might say he wasn’t motivated because he didn’t want to be there. Their thinking will be well we know what he can do in a winning situation on a contender and “we’re a contender” Masai likely always knew his value would still be there at the end of the season. The problem is a lot raptors never saw Brown in the playoffs when Denver won the championship and just think he was never good. Brown had an impact for them similar to what Norm had for us in the playoffs.
@mikeyjames I know I know lol. Wasn't implying he's a scrub or anything, he's a type of player winning teams need. But if his contract had 3 more guaranteed years on it, he wouldn't have been included in the Pascal trade js.
If the Raptors end up getting a 1st and filler for Brown it makes the Siakam deal a little better: they end up with 3 1st round picks, Nwora and Agbaji. Not a bad haul and quite good if 2-3 of them become anything decent.
No trade is coming. Who ya'll fooling.
I have a QUESTION for my FAVORITE RAPTORS REPORTER from an ole Knick foe. My man i have a question was O.G injury prone through your years with him ? Since we got him he has been been tremendous but you see how short these runs are until something always seems to go wrong, Common or no ?
Very injury prone, great player but struggles staying on the court
@@RaptorsDigest Yea that sucks man. He's such a talent maybe they can get him better conditioned in the offseason as you know Thibs demands high minutes, this can be a problem. I wish u well my brother Quickly will be a main stay for you i hope along with R.J. 🙏
@@RaptorsDigest You're liked amongst Knicks fans we have room for you if you would like to join the party
Yes very common with OG unfortunately. Precious is almost as good defensively tho, only real drop off is the 3 point shooting and their IQ's
Yes he misses a quarter of a season every season.. he didnt even play when the raptors won the championship
Teams will be coming for Brown especially in after the lottery top 14 picks because they say this is a weak draft year
This team needs people that can put the ball in the bucket--consistently!!! Is it too much to ask that we find people who can do that and play some defense (doesn't have to be a lockdown defender)? Other teams seem to be able to find these guys, why can't we!?!! Also, how about a big that can sink the 3 ball at a +35% rate. I'm not asking necessarily for snipers. Hell... I'd be happy for league average. With Darko's system creating so many open shots, Scottie could easily average 15+ assists/game with all his excellent passing if his freaking teammates could actually put the ball in the damn basket!!! Let's get back to the type of basketball that the Raptors played in the first 8 games of last season. We the North!!!
First it was get a big at all, from no big to an actual big. We did that, he hasn't had an environment to help lead us anywhere either. That combined with how few bigs can actually shoot are so few.. and many of them are very flawed so we got one thats more valuable than a lot that shoot even 33%. Just saying, weird to be so desperate for a 3 shooting center like our current C has been some drag on our franchise. You don't need 5 out to win, but you certainly need 4. 5 is icing on the cake if said 5 can also legitemately anchor a defence and we also haven't had 4 out realistically in awhile except kind of this season but while also being small (we need a floor spacing 4 far more than a 5, Kelly is a back up to the 4/5 already, great 3rd big). All that said, sure.. get us Chet Holmgren, or Wembenyama. Sounds sweet to me, but back to reality.. lets steal a Patrivk Williams instead and draft a young big to develop under the current roster and wait till this dream actually becomes a reality. Unless Claxton decides to show up and somehow retains/improves his 3 (again, these guys don't grow off trees right now. Over time more will show up in the NBA)
FIRST of all, Tim Hortons? huge statement.. the boy wants the awesome canadian life baby, we got that steamwhistle, got the tims, the kush, got all the cute girls .. he knows what's up..
Anyhoo... Brown for Edey (pick swap) let's go!
YES !!!!!!!!!
Bruce brown for #9 grizzlies pick
@@calebkeener9812 not likely with grizzlies greatest need being a 7 ft defensive rim protecting center.
@@giovanni-ed7zq then if that's their desire Poetl for #9. Brown for another selection in the first round.
@giovanni-ed7zq it's going to be jac for the 9th pic
Am not expecting anything rather than just a couple picks
Patrick Brown is headed to the Toronto Raptors
2025 1st. Make it happen.
Brown to Knicks for Knicks 1st in 2024 and Bogan. Imagine Brown and Hart defebsively together.
Let me guess Brown and 1st to San Antonio😂 wonder what bad contract we have to take back for him
Another thing that bothers me is our core is young, young enough that you don't need to trade a proven asset for another pick in the weakest reported draft I can remember. There is a reason teams would throw a pick in the 9-12 range from a guy like brown. Moves like this make no sense to me, it's not like we need the cap space we never sign any key players through free agency, he's better than Trent Jr and our team is already young.
IQ needs $, GTJ won't be free and even if its only 12 mil, that still inches us closer to the cap + Scottie will need a big fat contract next year with not a ton of cap space being opened up that year (15 mil, boucher mcdaniels). So yea, we do need some flexibility going forward, especially at our current stage in development and facilitating trades becomes easier. Not saying what you said is outlandish either.. all depends on what Masai is cooking
I like it alot.. Moving him is the right move. Resign Trent For cheap and trade him in the very near future because he is not consistent at all
Bruce brown for 1st overall draft pick😮
im 50/50 on gary rn.
Trade him to the thunder for the clippers or jazz pick next year
Brown is a glue guy put him on a good team and he’ll pick up the slack. Put him on a bad team and his deficiencies are glaring. Having a 22 million dollar expiring contract is sometimes appealing to teams that are looking to make some space heading into 2025. No one wants to be messing with that 2nd apron now with all those new restrictions.
It’s time to move on from the honey pot that is GTJ. Just close the door completely on the old roster. Move GTJ, move Boucher. Get it done. No more games with GTJ. He is over paid there’s always a debate as to whether he starts or come off the bench because he always struggles off the bench. He can’t finish at the rim and if he gets fouled he will struggle to make free throws…..there so many other players that can shoot and are bigger more athletic. Grady Dick if he works hard enough this off-season will do everything Gary does better in just his second season. Let Gary go. He’s not got any better in how many seasons?? His age means nothing. Sometimes a spade is a spade.
This guy put Bruce brown on every 30 teams
The Raptors should trade Bruce Brown to OKC for Giddy, Aaron Wiggins, Jaylin Williams, Kenrich Williams or Cason Wallace & 2 seconds
Why would they give up that much..
Aaron Wiggins for sure
Trade all that for one year of bruce…? Man our fanbase need a reality check best we could probs do is get a earlier first this year
...plus 3 first round draft picks 😅
Bro r u for real.no way OKC give that much up for a one year contract
Bruce Brown, Chris Boucher for Andrew Wiggins, Filler... make it happen.
Poeltl, Barnes, Wiggins, RJ, IQ. Olynyk, #19, Agbaji, GTJ, CoJo (F/A).
No fucking Wiggins!
@@CCEx6ixfacts
Patrick Williams or Wiggins and Saric.
Fuck off with that trade
warriors would have to give like a 2026 unprotected or top 2 protected pick for raptors to trade to warriors that can go into a rebuild at any time. no one is taking warriors pick with moderate protections knowing they are close to a rebuild. if the warriors willing to do that then its fine. if you accept a warriors pick with moderate protections and they go into a rebuild, basically you looking at two 2nd rounders within a year or two because they owe alot of picks to other teams.
Why are people obsessed with getting more picks in this draft. Wouldn't Brown hold more value by picking up the option and seeing if he can turn things around. Gary Trent Jr should be moved or let go. He kills the movement on the court, gets the ball and pass isn't in his vocabulary. Move Trent keep brown.
Because the team is likely going to be bad again next season. The 2025 draft is also expected to have a lot of talent so if you can get a first round pick for Brown in what’s expected to be a stacked 2025 draft you take it and run. too many people think this is going to be a quick rebuild when we have no real bench assets. This team really has no young players on cheap deals. when Scottie and Quickley sign their big contracts along with RJ’s already big contract then we need to start getting creative. Most good upcoming teams like OKC have lots of young players they drafted on cheap rookie deals and they still have cap space. When the raptors were an upcoming team we had lot’s of young players on cheap deals. Fred, Norm, OG, and Pascal. Now we have a lot of young players but on big deals which make’s it harder to put talent around them and stay under the cap.
its likely bruce brown is traded.
we're getting close to nothing
😂😂😂😂
@ben rogers the grizzlies do not need bruce brown, their greatest need is a big 7 ft defensive rim protecting center. and you are not getting the 9th pick for bruce brown even if you give the grizzlies the 19th pick.
the only team that would want bruce brown at 23 million expiring is golden state who needs to shed the 200 million in luxury tax they paying. you are looking at boucher and brown for wiggins and the warriors 2026 lightly or unprotected pick because of the risk the warriors can to into a rebuild at any time. no one is gonna take warriors picks with them close to a rebuild that has moderate protections because if they go into a rebuild, you wont see the pick.
The Raptors will never take Wiggins, his contract is toxic. Masai and Bobby made it clear they are not handcuffing themselves with bad contracts going forward. The restrictions are too severe in the apron.
Ok say raptors do that trade.. and then poetl for okc's 12 pick and then draft collier at 12 and edey or missi at 19 and a backup center at pick #31..... Quickley, Barret, Wiggins, Barnes, edey/missi... Collier, dick, agjabi, olynk, #31 pick (center)
Could that team push for playoffs?
