The Inmotion V13 EUC (Electric Unicycle) has become a popular choice among EUC enthusiasts who prioritize safety and quality. The overall design of the V13 makes it the most refined EUC we have reviewed on the channel.
In this review, we’ll take a closer look at what we love and hate about the Inmotion V13 Challenger, and examine why it’s considered one of the safest wheels on the market.

quick and easy disassembly. while at times a little more time consuming than other particular wheels, the additional time spent is from the engineering and build quality that reflects on it.. it's not hard to take apart and very intuitive to take apart.. even without the mass of InMotion videos that have been published. lol.
balls to the walls, I haven't seen under 30 miles of range. I can get maybe 38 or so miles hauling my 200lb butt.. still waiting to go even faster. lol.
    thanks for the shoutout! 🥰

I got the V13 and am loving it. I'm a 240-lb guy who rode it for 50+ miles in a rain/snow storm this past weekend. I do wish it had a seat and more disposable/modular bumpers, but Clarkpads has an awesome system available for both. Coming from a V12 and Mten4, it's a big adjustment - like riding a horse. But I love it, and it's definitely my new commuter wheel in Boston.

Hi guys, there is a seat and kickstand for V13. It depends on your dealer. Some are providing seat and kickstand included. The seat is nice, just the perfect size, and is does not cover the handle. Instead the handle fold over a central notch on the seat. The kickstand is good too. Not the foldable system but fixed. I had my fears about it because I do not like these foot too low, exposing to be hit by rocks etc. This is just right. Solid, easy to install, stable and high to prevent interfering. Then, inevitably the vehicle has to leans back a lot, making harder to get to the charging ports (unless connecting the charger before tilting back). My V13 has in-built spikes on the pedals, not screws. The lower section of the suspension slider, has four threaded holes where to easily attach 3D printed pieces or even metal fenders if desired. The rebound adjustment is easy once knowing how to. Just screw it gently to the end and on turn back (counterclockwise) one turn for cruising, two for multipurpose and three for frequent obstacles (rally/offroading). No clics, so you can set in between levels as desired. The tool, just a 5mm drill on the front of the seat and there you can insert it to keep it handy when needed.
What I have noticed is that many are using it with >35PSI on the tire "as usual" and no surprise they experience wobbles. It is a similar tire than Cordial for V12HT. It is not a common tire, but made to be used with very low pressure (maximum 40PSI for 180kg on top). I wish you could tell us your opinion about how it behaves when changing the pedal's height and angle. I prefer middle height and stock side angle. What about your the settings? I like it with pedal sensitivity at 20%, power assist with accelerate at 75% and brake at 30%. Well calibrated, I set it at 1º forward. Your video shows a V13 with the tire being swapped; was is worth and would you recommend to do it? What I do miss for V13 is a 12A portable charger. Adjustable chargers Battis-style, are too big and heavy. V13 is fast even at low battery levels, but it does not mean we have to ride it a these high speeds (decreasing range and exposing us to severe injuries).
It is nice to see mature and responsible riders. We need you guys. Thanks so much for sharing.

Thanks for your thoughts fellas! All good points. I'm expecting my range to be on the higher end due to my riding environment. Not a lot of places that I can really open it up for extended periods of time. Here in Australia the place I ordered my V13 from (E-Riderz) was kind enough to include the official stand and seat with my order for free. The seat is great! The stand however, even though it's stable, solid and does the job, interferes with the mudguard when in use. Good to have nonetheless. Thanks for the content!

The trolley handle hinge broke on my V12-HT I think because in a tumble the trolley handle can catch on something and torque against the metal frame and break the hinges off. Does the V13 rollbar look like it could prevent the trolley handle from breaking off in a tumble?
OH, at least it looks like the trolley handle hinge plate on the V13 can screw off and easily be replaced when damaged, design looks improved to me! Damn, I wish my V12 had the handle design like that. Now I have to spend a lot of money to replace the whole top part of the EUC. >.>

I am an owner of a v12ht. I always see the ultra speeds and quick ridings. But what is the range on a normal speed?
Also I am afraid that the « speed demons » running at 50+mph past pedestrians will get euc banned as this is a stupid and dangerous move. As you guys said: a smart euc dies not replace your brain.
The v12ht has currently no issues for me. Ihad an issue. But I have figured out that when I plug it in immediately after riding, it gives a battery error sometimes as it is not ready. Waiting 1 minute from my ride, no errors.

Inmotion never said that it won’t have cutoffs, they want to achieve it from the hardware side of things, like putting 42 fets, 18 caps, 2 halls, etc. so from this side the margin of parts failing gets narrower, but the cutoff most of the times is because user fault or overpowering the device and all of euc’s will cutoff because of this, we don’t have and will never have unlimited battery power.

@begodecrashtestdummy Kingsong 16x or 18xl, Inmotion v11 (suspension) or v12 (non-susp.)... I have (2) 16x models and love them. If it's your first wheel, buy the cheapest working "used" wheel you can find.

    • @grb1969
      @grb1969 Před rokem

@begodecrashtestdummy I know that there are a select number of determined individuals that can learn and thrive on an advanced/heavier wheel but far more people try EUCs and end up quitting from frustration. In the downhill skiing industry, more than 90% of newcomers quit skiing for a lifetime after trying only once... and the industry has suffered and is almost inaccessible to the average person as a result.
In order to organically grow as a sport or viable transportation substitute, the EUC industry must attract a retain as many individuals as possible; to me, this means guiding people into the best options for beginning their lifetime addiction to EUCs, which means small reliable learning wheels that have a broad performance range yet are more easily adopted. For this reason I tend to encourage inexperienced newcomers to learn on the smallest wheel that is viable for their mission or perceived goal. 10" to 14" wheels are great to learn on but people tend to upgrade within the year to a 16" to 18" intermediate level wheel, so I'd encourage a newcomer to learn on the smallest option possible, as the increasing weight of the EUC can make the learning cure insurmountable to many.
I've watched plenty of enthusiastic people go for an oversized wheel only to have considerable regrets, even if they are determined to pick up the skill at any cost. But. for me, I think that the community is practically self-sabotaging the growth rate of this PEV segment when we don't explicitly say that new users should "slow their roll" and forego those sexy new wheels and focus on learning on a smaller/lighter unit. I'm not saying that learning to ride cannot be done on a heavy wheel but the attrition rate is undesirable to both manufacturers and the broader community.
Inmotion has recognized this problem and is now focusing on improving their small wheel offerings by developing 14" & 16" suspension, just like LeaperKim who is bringing the Patton model to market soon. I hope that Kingsong will upgrade the 16x to suspension soon too, but I haven't heard rumors to that effect yet.

I would be 100% down to get a EUC, but I'm really concerned they will be made illegal soon. Have you guys looked into the long term legality of these vs ebikes? My thought is that ebikes can be "hidden" while in use better than EUC's so as a long term investment they are a safer bet.

I have to somewhat disagree. I was one of the first to receive the production s22. I was expecting a better end result due to the fact they canceled the original release and did a live prototype test with riders around the world for feedback to make improvements before manufacturing. The release was rocky it did piss me off beyond belief. I had to send it back 2 days later due to errors all over the place right out of the box. Then, I sent it back for temperature sensor failure, and a motor swap was available. The downtime was frustrating. I doubt I will buy another kingsong again.
However, after the motor swap and repairs 3k km's and just last week I installed the Hou Ningning 8 ceramic bearing kit, and I got to say there is no gyrowheel on the market that comes anywhere in the same neighborhood as the s22. For this reason, it is hands down the most fun to ride, extremely plush it gives you endless confidence to take stairs, jumps, trails, and it does well on the streets.
I wouldn't say it was overhyped, but rather, our expectations were high. You have to realize it was also the first 126 volt wheel to this was seen as progress to the industry. Nearly one year later, with ironman pedals and the suspension upgrade, it provides an amazing experience better than I expected, provided if you wish to ride as I described above. However , if your thing is long-range cruising and on the streets, then get a Sherman-S.
In closing, imo this industry needs to be better for what we pay for these devices. Like we shouldn't have to spend additional money on ferrings, pads, suspension upgrades, and most of all good pedals, Sherman-S is a perfect example, gross, burn the mold for those peddles and piss on the ashes.

I've seen 3 low speed cutouts on CZcams and reddit so far. All hit a bump going fairly slow and it cutout kinda like the v11s were doing

Low speed cutouts and bolts are failing like crazy. Also the range was much worse than expected. Kinda disappointed

bolt issue ON DEMO wheels was corrected immediately by Inmotion. And new bolts were either installed prior to shipping or sent to customers who received their wheels. And zero low speed cutouts lol the ONE guy who CRASHED his v13 was because of stupidity and inexperience. He f*cked around, and found out. Wanted to be a hero pushing the wheel wayyyy too hard...yes, EVERY single wheel ever made has limits. You win most ignorant comment award.

Balls to the walls will kill any euc range. Riding moderately helps quite a bit.
