  • I did it. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a purchase that I want to be proud of. And while I'm a happy customer who spent a lot of money on the worlds fastest, and HEAVIEST electric unicycle on the market, there are definitely some things that I noticed which haven't gotten a lot of attention in many of the review videos out right now.
    So, in this video, I'll cover 6 things that nobody told you about the Inmotion V13 Challenger - one of the fastest EUC's money can by. But, is it worth the price? Are you strong enough to handle the weight? Are you experienced enough to get the most out of it?
    This video will help you answer all of those questions so that you can make your purchase confidently (or not!) and keep that stoke full while you're out on the trails!
    Subscribe for more great EUC content and comment below with any questions you might have. I respond to every one of them!

    Hello, I am also a 40 yr old V13 rider here who has thousands of miles ridden.. Hearing that you came from the wheels you did does make a little bit of sense that you're not used to such a larger wheel and struggling a bit at the beginning.
    It takes a little bit getting used to.. but if you're on social media, there are smaller and lighter riders than us that are handling the V13 easily. Strength is only a small factor in mounting smoother.
    For the pads, I'm not sure what you mean by "all the way to the front".. Pad placement should cater to the rider and very specifically foot placement. As in, lowering the pads enough to have it fit snuggly against the top of your feet.
    Also, I ride with 2° forward for comfort.. for the times I really want to push it, there were times I hook my foot into the pads and then lean even past the top pads.
    Taming the V13 and getting used to it is very satisfying and I describe it sometimes as weight training.. Riding even the heaviest of the 20" wheels nowadays are absolutely effortless for me now. Enjoy the ride. 🙂

    The comparison to the 1L motorcycle is exactly what I was thinking after I tried my V14. My first wheel was the KS16X, and I didn’t realize how different the experience would be. Both are 16 inches, but the power behind the V14 is just dangerous. I was down in the first 10 minutes on the wheel, riding at 5 mph on an uneven surface (I was “preparing” to cross the street). The wheel suddenly turned right, and my body weight shifted to the right side, causing me to push the front of the right pedal slightly more. On any wheel with around a 2000-2500 watt motor, nothing would have happened, but with the 16” 4000 watts one of the most torquey wheel, I was shot off like from a slingshot, in front of a car. I was lucky that the car had room to stop, but my ribs and my right wrist weren’t that lucky. It’s been 3 weeks, and I still can’t do much (even though I had wrist guards on, they were too loose, I think)

    I've never rode the v13, but I did went from the V11 to the EX20, and that wheel is more than half my weight.
    I agree that heavy wheels are in a class of their own, and this is definitely harder for lighter riders.
    Heavy riders can rely more of their weight to torque the wheel, lighter riders must rely on technique.
    And if you're anxious, you're gonna tense up your muscles even more which leads to early fatigue.
    That said, I'm saving up for a master Pro because I love long distance travel. There's definitely a learning curve once again but the EX20s prepared me well. :)

    The price for the Inmotion V13 is good right now. I don't need another EUC, but the V13 rides a lot different from my current six EUC. I have tried the V13 and to me it's only fun at 30-45 mph, because it is very sluggish at lower speeds. The V13 is a high speed wheel. My Veteran Abrams is very wide, but very fast at 0-40 mph. So it's lots of fun in that speed range. My Begode EX30 is also a torque wheel, but at 20inch it rides very different at 40 mph. I also think the V13 is great for seated riding at the higher speed. Seated riding really saves your legs.

    I am a similar rider to you, late 40's, have previously crashed my v12 and don't want to race/jump like the young people. I'm glad to hear about the range when ridden moderately, as i don't go over 40km/h very often at all, i most commute/cruise and range is one of the most important things for me, as I do not own a car. The v13pro apparently has 15% more range again, so i think you have just sealed the deal for me to get one of those next. Also, a bit off topic, but what is the rain jacket you are wearing there? The best way to get rid of speed wobbles is to have good power pads to lean into.
    The invisible chair braking technique is extremely effective, as it gets your center of gravity down substantially and cancels wobbles immediately. Looks like you’re sitting down in a chair, but your legs are still locked into the pads to prevent you from falling off the back.

    V13 range was amazing for me until I grew into it more.
    Nowadays If i am cruising around 25-30 i can expect 38ish miles. I can stretch and reach into the low 40s if i am riding deep into the low battery mode which chokes your speed aggressively.
    At the extreme high end of consumption i did a ride where i was at 25% battery after 25 miles. However I have never managed to get more than the high 40s in range.
    I love my v13 but riding with my friend on his master pro and watching him zoom away while my wheel beeped at me made me a little jelly not gonna lie.

    i wonder whether there's a wrist guard which was designed with no concern given to dexterity. if there isn't one there should be. sure a lot of people will be turned off because they want to use their smartphone or camera while riding, but maybe a couple people are like me and don't want to hold anything other than the occasional bar of chocolate. could be very rigid and even combine 4 fingers like a winter glove. almost like a casting, but from some composite material that's very strong.

    About the range, v13 range is limited compared to other high performance wheels. That is why you hear so much complaints about the battery size. • @4RT1LL3RY
      @4RT1LL3RY Před 2 měsíci

      Yeah there is a reason the V13 wasn't a hit. Its so much wheel that it loses out on a lot of the convenience parts of an EUC. I wouldn't believe the stuff with the Begode Falcon until they have prototypes being tested. Suspension requires things to get beefed up to keep things square so I doubt the weight will stay 55lbs. And if its heavier you are +$300 from a V11Y.

    • @ADadSupreme
      @ADadSupreme Před 2 měsíci

      @@4RT1LL3RY That's how I found about them. I've seen videos of Falcon prototypes being tested and vetted by veteran EUC riders. The combo of price point ($1500), weight (55 my limit), suspension (older back/knees than yours), range/speed (perfect for me as a hobbyist) are perfect. As always, the devil is in the details though so it was worth a pre-order.

    No offense but buying a wheel that is 2/3 of your body is ridiculous. This is the tail wagging the dog. Also the range aspect is another point of questionable decision making unless you are going to use at least 50% of that range on a regular basis. You gain by lowering the weight for less range that you won't be using anyway. This is like buying a high performance truck when you need modest sedan.

      @@SimulatorSandbox I have four wheels, (in buying order) KS18XL (52 lbs), Mten3 (22 lbs), V10 (44lbs), and a V11 (59.5 lbs). I weigh 200 which puts me about 20 over where I should be. The KS18XL was a mistake for a first wheel because it is too heavy, has way more range than what I needed for commuting and overall made it harder than necessary to learn on because of the weight.
      The Mten3 was also bought for learning but it also has a good filler profile for jumping off and on public transport. The V10 because it became a better option than the KS18XL. I should have gotten the KS18L (47.6 lbs) instead with the less range and that would have been an ideal wheel because of the lower weight.
      If I got the V10 at the start that would have largely perfect. Relatively light weight and enough range for commute and then some.
      Lastly I got the V11 because at that point I wanted to try a suspension wheel, it was on sale and the KS S18 (55 lbs) suspension wheel but it was having too many technical issues at the time.
      The problem with the EUC industry that they have kept inflating wheel stats to the point of absurdity. For some people this is okay but if you are trying to get causal users and commuters interested they are going in the wrong direction.
      Most of us just don't need these massive wheels that have so much weight/momentum to them that they become a foe to being a nimble wheel you can push around.
