    Navigating the world of recruiting events can feel like treading through an endless maze. The array of travel ball organizations, tournaments, showcases, and camps, each with its own merits, may leave you feeling overwhelmed. We're here to help declutter this space, making your journey toward securing the best college spot for your son a smoother ride.
    1. Summer Travel Ball: A fantastic avenue for honing skills amidst fierce competition. However, the massiveness of tournaments has diluted the scope for exposure and recruiting. The reality is the chances of college coaches spotting your son are slim.
    2. Fall Travel Ball: The return on investment dwindles further in fall. Our advice? Shift focus to showcases, camps, or even other sports. Meanwhile, a compelling recruiting video can keep your son on the radar.
    3. Showcases: These events, organized by third-parties, usher in college coaches to scout talent. We recommend showcases where the participating schools are known beforehand, ensuring a worthwhile engagement. Emphasis on prostyle showcases with actual games over a full day or two, as this setup mirrors a true evaluation environment for college coaches.
    4. School Camps: These are tailored to specific schools, making them a golden opportunity if they align with your son’s athletic and academic aspirations, and if they're recruiting for his position. Like with showcases, camps with gameplay yield more genuine evaluations.
    The bombardment of camp invites in your inbox is real, and while many are impersonal mass emails, personal invites do come through. Even a generic invite might be worth considering if the camp aligns well with your son's prospects.

      Love hearing this. Tournaments are overrated.

      Is that program kind of region specific? Ive never heard of that showcase company and my son gets pretty much all the invites from I95 (New Jersey) to Junior Day to PBR/PG, and several others.

    I was just about to comment on your previous video asking about this. My son is a Junior and was going to spend next summer going to camps instead of travel ball. Been looking more for the camps where they will play a short scrimmage in the afternoon after the workouts. He also went to a showcase by Own Your Exposure, seemed pretty good and had a bunch of coaches out there, still alot of kids (100) so youd have to really stand out to be noticed. He did one called "Junior Day" and that was just a mess, they had the kids running last and there was at least 150 kids out there. No game or simulated game and an all day event in July in GA. Been looking for and have received a showcase that will be DII and lower colleges showing up so hoping that will turn out well.
    There is a PBR showcase that kids who get the invite to should probably really take an interest in, the future games or upper class games. This year the future games showcase and tournament had 300+ coaches out there in GA watching the kids play. Its PBR essentially gathering up a ton of kids from across the country and holding a tournament in one location for all these coaches to come see at once. GA tech gathered up about 24 kids and invited to a more private camp the day after the tournament ended and got a few to commit.
    Lastly, since PBR and PG dont rank everyone that comes to their showcases or plays in their tournaments, do you think getting a ranking actually means anything to the college coaches?

      Good perspective here! The PBR Futures Showcase is the best showcase in the country. The only downside is its invite only. So if you aren’t invited look for the qualities of a good showcase. Lastly, no college coaches do not care about your PBR and PG ranking.

    Summer ball/high school baseball are great for updating video highlights. People may not be showing up to the games but you can bring your highlight video to them. If you're going to be a part of a program where you don't play then that means no highlights which means no exposure.

      Good point here! Playing is important and a chance to get quality video. You just don’t have to travel around the country to do it. Some organizations out there pressure kids and parents.

    Alex, love the channel! I have a question as to why is it a college coach will no respond to an email? We have sent out dozens of emails to D1 colleges all across the south, small to mid major. He is a 2024 RHP, 6" 1" 219 lbs, very athletic, F.B. 90, curve 77-79, C.U. 79-82, cutter 76-79. No kidding these are the real numbers, we can not get a college coach to reply to us for nothing! Any help would be apriciated. We will be going to Purdue U. Sunday for a camp. Thank You Dan

      We do include a pitching video. He actually had Belmont and Xavier reply back to him this week. Pitched at Purdue Camp Sunday and hit 91 three times on the fast ball. They really like him...hoping for a response from them.@@RecruitingwithAlex

    If coaches personally invite players to their camp, do they usually pay the cost or is it still out of pocket for families like everyone else?

    • @RecruitingwithAlex
      @RecruitingwithAlex  Před 9 měsíci +1

      They can’t pay the cost. Against NCAA rules. Everyone pays the same.
