Great video. Loved the instructions being thrown in the trash as item 1 on the checklist.
It’s easy connecting the fixing kit when the basin is on the workbench but harder doing it from underneath when you’re replacing a mixer tap. It would have been a good opportunity to show folks how to assemble the fixing kit on the tap then drop it through from the top. The fixings are crescent shaped for that very purpose.

Did this a couple of weeks ago felt guilty using so much silicon instead of the useless orings. Now I feel better about it, thanks again bud 🤣

Tube spanners! That's what I needed! Installed a tap myself and even though I'm small it was so tricky getting my hand to where I needed to be. Vowed to just pay a plumber next time but I'll definitely put that on hold until I try tube spanners

Thanks Bill, I prefer to use plumber puff instead of silicon and also I am ending use this pop up waste got the one call universal 40mm pop up plug waste, you can tight from inside with screwdriver instead of traditional lock nut . Also I like the way you throw the rubber seal away same as me :)

Plumbers puddy so much easier for the drain. Cleaner and no need to apply to the underside if applied correctly.

Did this same job recently but find the plug often gets stuck closed and won’t pop-up. Have you had this issue or any tips on what I can do? Looks like the same plug as yours from Hammerbarn.

If the pop up waste is not installed exactly centered it will cause the plug to become stuck👍

I did the same a year ago with silicon and now I have black mould around pop on a top. Literally it’s impossible to remove the good quality silicon or it takes a heavy effort to remove it, instead I use a plumber putty that what that purpose for.
