The thing that people seem to not know is that the warriors have already been speaking to KD (trying to recruit him) before the playoffs even started. The enticement the warriors promised to Kevin was there from the start, before the 73 wins, before the playoff loss. The thing is that the only thing that would've kept KD from joining the warriors would be if they won the championship that year. When they lost to the warriors, KD knew how bad the press and fans would react to his practically already-made decision, but that's where KD and lebrons Miami choice share similarities. Both guys met up with other all stars who were also in their primes, just to get together to form a potential dynasty. Everybody knew with BOTH decisions that the league would be shook, but both guys set aside all the shame and hate they'd get just to win a ring.

Quiet as kept, the Lakers and Celtics were stacked super teams in the 80's. Players left other teams tho join them, be it Kareem from Milwaukee to LA or Dennis Johnson from Seattle to Boston. KD was free agent & he's playing in a much better system for him.

KD joining the Warriors is not the same as Lebron joining the Heat. Ray Allen was 35 years old when he went to the heat and the Celtics were already talking about trading him because of his decline. Chris Bosh was nowhere near as good as Klay Thompson, or Steph Curry, or Kevin Durant. Defensively Draymond is way better than Bosh. And D Wade was already starting to show his decline by the time Lebron got there. Kevin Durant joined not only a 73 win team that beat him, but he also joined a team of young players at their core with no decline. To top that off, the Warriors have the best coach in the league, if not 2nd best to Popovich. Eric Spolestra is not even close to Steve Kerr's coaching level.

My condolences, Stephen A. Smith, after losing your biggest inspiration, but you need to let this go already. Kevin Durant has stepped it up and taken his game to another level regardless of all the criticism he's endured. His team is looking to pass him the ball; he is not coasting whatsoever. He's earned his right to stay on the Golden State Warriors.
Not really. KD is playing the same as he always has, he's just on a better team, with better shooters that moves the ball better and doesn't allow him to be double-teamed.

I was critical of the move myself at first (been a KD fan since Montrose Christian days).. but basically, it was the best move for him and his career. While also being an indictment against Russell Westbrook, by KD basically saying that he couldn't win with him.. or, he just got tired of playing with him. And wanted to play for a team that had the most unselfish collection of superstars. Plus he's shown that he's still *The Man* as well.
