The 4 BACK EXERCISES in my PULL DAY

- Alright here are the 4 back exercises that I do during my pull workout. I always start with some heavy t bar rows using the wide grip handles getting a big stretch at the bottom and a nice squeeze at the top to work primarily my traps and rhomboids. If you don’t have this machine, any chest supported horizontal row will do just fine. Then after that I’ll do some vertical pulldowns for the teres muscles and a bit of lats, and if for some reason you don’t have that, then regular pull ups will be a similar alternative. Then to train the lumbar or lower lat, I’ll do some single arm lat pulldowns, making sure to keep my body upright so that my arm is actually pulling in front of me and not overhead. And finally I’ll finish off with some barbell rows, because they are extremely fun. I know it is a little bit redundant, since I’m already doing a horizontal row, but the pump afterwards is insane.

When it comes to choosing exercises for your back, here are a some of the things I look to include.
- 1 horizontal rowing variant (trap/rhomboid bias)
- 1 vertical pulling movement (teres bias)
- 1 or 2 lat isolation movements (lat bias)
- 1 rear delt fly (rear delt bias)
Although it wasn't included in the video, I always do a rear delt fly on my pull day (after my barbell rows). Then I do 2 bicep exercises and call it a day 👍
Edit: I also meant to say iliac lats, NOT lumbar. Iliac is the lower division, and lumbar is the middle!

My back workout is Deadlift, Barbell Rows, Pull Up, Chin Ups & Cabled face pulls because I don’t have that type of machine to target the rhomboids.

I do T-Bar Rows, Lat Pulldowns, Seated Cable Rows, Shrugs, and Face Pulls for rear delts
Face pulls aren't that good for hypertrophy as far as I know.

I don't have a T bar so at my gym I just get a bench and put it at high enough incline to where the dumbbells just barely touch the ground when I get a stretch at the bottom and I'll generally warm up for 2 sets and then I'll do 4-5 sets and try to go "failure" on my last set

My gym doesn’t have any chest supported row and the benches are too low to the ground to row from there, it’s all good though, we’re all gonna make it brahs

My back training is only weighted Pull-up specialization and Row for volume and some heavy pull for the ground

Hey man you prob won’t see this but I really wouldn’t user the wrist straps on all those exercises.
If you’re going for a 1RM it’s okay but over reliance of wrist straps (especially for any movement hinging at the elbows) will most likely cause tendonitis. It happened to me.

Barbell rows actually aren’t too redundant here, if you were to focus on your lats on the next pull day it shouldn’t be a problem. So keep doing them. 🎂👀

damn, doing slow release pull exercises huh, thats hard af. though great for having greater pull ups later on though not necessary, the most important part is squeezing the damn whole back.
