Within the first 4 minutes, black reminded me of someone who has an opening that they will play regardless of what the opponent does. I thought the knight move to remove the bishop was to free up F5, continuing the Philidor.

I had a similar game where I missed a move that could’ve blocked my opponent from blowing open my position. I don’t remember exactly what happened but I basically had my king chased into what I saw as an inescapable mate. Fortunately I was able to bait something away with an “oh no my knight” play and them getting greedy was all I needed to bring the game back from a dead lost position.
