- In this episode of Budget Build Garage, Nick makes progress on the Pro Street Drag Racing El Camino and welds in the S&W Race Car four link Custom Frame. The plan is to turn this classic 1968 Chevy into a pro street race car. This pro street build will consist of back halving the car. Watch as we remove all of the floor and factory frame from the trans cross member on back. Then we'll install race type frame and flooring that will accept 4-links systems for the upgraded suspension. We will also add a roll cage for safety. Stay tuned as we upgrade to a bigger block engine and install a Pro Charger.

I had an El Camino of the same style. I owned a glass shop back then and had a piece of "Greylite-14" beveled 1-1/2 all around and tempered and it looked great.
Cool project. Love El Caminos. Nothing more American.
Enjoy sharing you sharing your insight while performing a task most of us dream about !.
Those tires look pretty awesome in there!
I am really happy with them!
Thanks for sharing the work. I bought a 73 with the same intentions. Great job
Thanks! Let me know how your build goes.
Great job bro 👏
Great video especially filming it alone.
Thanks!
Cool dude
Thanks man!
It would be cool to watch time lapse videos of you working.
I spoke too soon
Hahaha.
I was curious if you are able to keep the frame rails under the bed? I’m thinking about doing this in my Chevy Colorado but wanna be able to still use the bed for drag and drive events
I like the way you back half that even though it was a full frame didn't know those kits come like that hope that's not an SS car.
Does any one else have a project they just cant seem to find time to work on? Let me know what you have!
I'm not sure if they are projects or just lawn art at this point.
@@shawnpeterson6812 Ha! I know the feeling!
I’m averaging 4 hours a week with my mustang between work and kid :)
@@marcuscrammer4317 It is tough to get stuff done like that but its worth it.
Yeah, I've got a 79 el camino. It's a driving project.
I'm working on an 85 Monte and was wondering where you measured from to get it square?
I want to do the same thing with my 1969 El Camino. My builder insists its a frame off job. It looks like you got around that by cutting the bed out?
What welder are you using looks great
What tires and wheels do you have on there?
I am interested in doing my pick up back hey is there any pointers you can give me on my budget Build
Thank for your videos. Your ideas have helped me through my 67 Chevelle back half. I would like to bolt my rear bumper on as well. My question to you is do your CE rails meet the same height as your old frame at the bumper? I have noticed with mine if i do that the front cross member of the CE rails won't be vertical. If i make it vertical then the back end of the CE rails are way higher. Does it matter?
I was thinking about their 24" 4 link for my street/strip 416 sb2.2 3 gen camaro with their 9" rear housing. You're not worried about welding slag burning bald spots in your hair? 😹
Could you get another one out of the 69 Mustang
I would like to do another series on the Mustang. I would like to upgrade it a bit and put it against the Camaro soon.
