"focus less on the engineering" is the best tip. sooo many producers overe overemphasize technical detaiest. nice vid!
amen. cheers mate :) great to see you here too
Totally agree! So much music today is I’ve engineered! I love the Y2K maximalist period! Today it’s all about minimalism.
This is the tutorial I wish came out during the rise of ambient DnB, around the "Sewerslvt" era. This is much more involved and by extension, more interesting than merely using a pad from the Jungle Jungle pack
rise of ambient dnb was in the 90s mate
@@killjxmes7882 that's like jungle and intelligent DnB. I'm talking about the recent ambient DnB, the stuff that gets mistaken for breakcore
You just heard my prayers, your tutorial series opened the door to the first electronic records I heard. Thank you.
do oyu belive in Jesus?
"It's not for everyone" WELL IT SHOULD BE
lets GOOOOOOOOO
So true 😂
so i guess: again, there are 2 types of people😅
8:48 "Be very liberal with your effects."
Well, that actually means that you should lots use of effects, liberal meaning "generous" or "ample."
Cheers mate, good catch. my brain was fried when I made this
Great tutorial. It seems like my problem was simple - not enough layers! 🤷♂
Thank you, still amazed at the timing of all of this, like life itself is one big giant algorithme.
What you do suddenly pops up everywhere, not only with ambient jungle / int.dnb but even the tutorials about it.
Its a confirmation for me to keep pursuing.
I found my genre of music (creation wise), this is it.
Im not good technically unfortunately, maybe even below average since i nvr had a mentor or money to finance my dreams, but im having fun creating it at least, and proud if i can at least make something ambient.
These videos will surely help allot😊
Thanks kensley! It's a great feeling to find a sound / genre and make the decision to pursue that specific sound fully, and give it your all. With that focus you can then dive twice as deep. Keep at it & have fun during the process, you will constantly improve the more you put into it
Wa shaving trouble with this last night. As is standard procedure, Thought-forms activated his mind reading capabilities and jumped straight on the case.
🔮 hope it helped! happy producing
Aural Imbalance vibes. Keep these coming.
Also thanks for making a point about the progression of the arrangement. I've heard far too many people have great ideas fall flat over the course of a tune because they couldn't build momentum out beyond a core pad.
one of the GOATS!
Thank you for another great tutorial. A lot of the comments already touched on this, but your stuff is really right up my alley for what I'm trying to make these days. My current track isn't working because the pad is exactly that "sustained note" kind of thing with no call and response at all. I am going to try this technique and see if it improves things (spoiler: I think it will :D)
Also, to your point about using your ears - I've been reading a lot about the early days of this music (Renegade Snares is a great book) and the spirit of these tunes is definitely about just going for vibes and doing what felt right. A lot of the great tracks were just people trying to make something they vibed with and I'm certain they were not doing any fancy engineering, just creating a vibe.
Cheers mate! This should help for sure. Will check the book out too. All about the vibe and just making something that sounds good, imo... :)
wow, a tutorial where the wanted sound is explained clear and concise +1 sub 🙌🏾
cheers pete! thank you
This is the sound that got me into dnb, will probably rewatch this, so thanks for the nice tutorial.
Thanks for the listening recommendations - wasn’t familiar with either artist you mention here.
Cheers, two of the best for this sound!
These sounds remind me very much of Final Fantasy X and the likes of that same period. Would be cool to see you dwelve into those soundscapes. Another artist I'd love to see here is Dallas Superstars and JS16 (Darude, Bomfunk Mc's, Mighty 44) and especially their soft synths.
You know, I never put much time into FFX but did recently grab it on PS2 - been wanting to dive into it for a while. Will be some good research to play through. Thanks for the other artist suggestions too, will check em out!
Just wanted to say - quality knowledge you’re dropping here!
much appreciated, dylan!
This reminds me of the Space Night series! I love you man!
haha love it! was just hunting for some of the space night dvd / vhs' on discogs a few weeks ago
Super cool, once again. Thought Forms on a roll with sooo much goodness as of lately. And so usable as always. Thanks dude!!
cheers friend! thanks for the kind words and support
your so underrated. learning so much from your vids.
thanks recursoo! stoked to hear you're learning a bunch 🤝 keep it up
Looking forward to put your tips into practice! Always loved these lush pads and recently redescovering the intelligent dnb movement
Let's GOOOO. The movement is strong, no better time to jump back in and master the lush pad sound
Your channel is amazing! I just got into vaporwave/electronica recently but come from a more organic background in writing music. But i love experimenting with ethereal and alien-like pads with smooth movements like this example.
Thanks bjorn! Always good to approach these genres from a different background, that inspiration & experience can often help shape a unique sound. Have fun :)
smooth tutorial thanks!
Hope you keep making these sorts of videos - thanks
Thank you for everything you do! Love your videos so much
thanks man :)
Thanks for showing this information
I remember using Bryce in grade school 🙌✨ I may still have some 3D renders from computer lab! 🖥️💾 Cool tutorial ✌️
Love it, release those old renders! Bryce has seen a bit of a "resurgence" over the past few years, still such a fun program to use
This is a great tutorial. It would be helpful if you could steer us towards some of the Korg Triton presets used and also mention some of the chords you've used. You said a couple of times that you were triggering Triton presets as a single note, yet they sound decidedly like chords to my ear, unless the chord is already baked into the preset which is often the case. A little more context would be helpful here.
Thanks jobe, appreciate the feedback, will focus a bit more on that additional context next time. cheers!
@@Thought-Formsthis would be very helpful!
@@Thought-Formsdo you think the triton vst is quite close to the hardware ?
@@saren6538 it’s spot on, I tested both side by side and could barely tell a difference
You have the best recipes👍🏻🍰 that take me to a different planet. As always great video and great teachings 🙏🏻
🧑🍳 cheers friend, thanks for the comment!
great vid brother subscribed
thanks man!
Damn you just keep helping me 🎉❤ this is exactly what I’m working on for my next tracks 😊 thanks again!
Hey is that you from VT's server?
thanks man, that was inspiring.
cheers :)
great as always, thank you.
these tutorials give me inspiration to make new cool stuff every day.
keep grinding luna, appreciate you hanging out!

More great videos mate. From one Omni artist (Wilsh) to another 👍🏼 keep em coming.
Thanks friend! Omni crew
Challenge: make a similar patch using only stock plugins, without using samples.
Challenge accepted
This is a cool challenge, but I don’t think it’s too hard. Doing things the way they did in the 90s takes much more effort 😂
@@VanillaSoulexactly - hardware all the way
@@VanillaSoul Show off your own stock-plugin jungle pads then ;)
Not always a need to make your own!
nice
what i learned is
step 1: get a korg triton
step 2: profit
hehehe, that will help for sure ;)

Love me some bleeps and burbles lol
Hi, thanks for the video. I'm sorry for being dim, but why are you sampling your Korgs rather than just using multiple instances of them? I mean, assuming you have the Korg Collection.
All good! I have a physical Korg Triton I was sampling from because it has the EXB-MOSS card (which the VST doesnt have) as well as a bunch of presets in sysex format, which the VST cant ingest either
I usually do something similar using granular synthesis im uvi falcon and phase plant
awesome! uvi falcon seems pretty slick, need to give it a try
@@Thought-Forms it is like everything about it
Can you please teach to KORG Users and me how to Create a PROGRAM from SCRATCH on Triton VST KORG COLLECTION ? Thanks !
what chords are that first pad playing in the sampler?
c# minor 9
What Triton patches are you using?
Which daw you use bro in this video?
