Thank you!!! Just got done modding mine and went to boot my first game and had this happen. Every old forum post said to replace it but just had to push that cable in the tiniest bit.
This is gonna be very helpful, i dropped my ps2 the other day and it still works but memory card port 1 doesn't work anymore, so im getting a replacement part and hoping for the best
if anyone is seeing this get the entire port it usually comes with a new ribbon cable incase it was the ribbon. Buy just the cable, you may have to buy twice like me
I was playing a couple ps2 games and charging my tablet I unplugged it from my system and both the top and bottom one broke some now still works totally fine for a 23 year old system
Where do they sell those 3 little pins (with the 3 tiny holes) in the controller ports? The "pins" as its called. My ps2 port 1 is missing those so my player 2 port is the only thing i can use for the time being. (Doesn’t help that many games require you to be in the player 1 port slot). How can i repair that or where can i pick up those 3 controller "pins" ?
The player 1 port and memory card slots are the most commonly broke ports on the system unfortunately I have only ever replaced both together but understand this is now becoming more expensive sorry I can't help.
If that little ribbon black plastic piece came off is it broken? It seems like it can go back on I’m just struggling to get it back on and go snap shut.
Ive been pushing the ribbon back into the slot but it wont stay in. It fell out on its own and the tab seems pretty firm and im scared ill break it. Please help!
And I DID snap that little bit off so ribbon won't clip in. I took apart to clean because disks weren't reading and just created a whole new problem. Lol
I have ordered one previously from ebay, a lot of people will also sell off old playstation 2's that are broke so can be cannibalized that you might be able to pick up cheap.
@Like A Dragon: Yakuza Series Generation Official I haven't had much experience with corrupted memory cards, Here is a video I came across with a quick search though hopefully this helps: czcams.com/video/neY9cqVF6UI/video.html

Hopefully it works, console is brilliant even after all these years and It's good to see people still playing them.

it's obviously cheaper too get a new PlayStation it's only the changing port that is broken
?
@@Brandon-lv9yh Apologise been away for a while the port is much cheaper to swap out if you can get the part.

Thanks. Hello from Brasil
No problem, Hello from UK.

Not always if it snapped yes but if just slipped off some times can clip back on It is really flimsy.

there is a little plastic lift at the end that clips it down in place, it is very flimsy though be careful when clipping it back on.
What do you do if the plastic breaks I broke two PS2s this way🤬🤬🤬
The part that holds my ps2 controller popped out years ago. What is it called and is there a replacement?
When you say popped out do you mean the port itself came off? Most replacements can be found on ebay.
And I DID snap that little bit off so ribbon won't clip in. I took apart to clean because disks weren't reading and just created a whole new problem. Lol
Do you recommend a certain website to get the port replacement that comes with the ribbon

Yeah I watched the video as you described it and my cards still are not loading.
@@nstc2020 Have you tried cleaning the memory card you tried to load sometimes the contacts get dirty.

@@bmtgg543Sir how can I fix my controller port 1 not working :(
If my memory card is registered on the Home Screen, but is not being read when I play games, what should I do?
Do you mean it won't save games? Is it an original memory card or a 3rd part memory card?
@@bmtgg543yeah, there is problem in loading saved games like RE4 and GOW2
Is there a way to fix memory card slot 1 without taking apart console
Unfortunately none that I know of, have you made sure the issue is not with the memory card first as fixing a memory card is a lot easier.
Make a tutorial for ps2 slim, cause I have ps2 slim and it has the same problem like yours, is that the same way to fix it?
Unfortunately I sold my Slim a while back so am unable to make a video for it, I imagine so if not registering anything it could also be dirt inside.
My PS2 will read the memory card but when I go to play a game it' tells me there is no memory card there
Are you using a PS2 slim? if so sometimes this is caused by the lid being slightly open.
my ribbon got a cut how can i solve that?
You can just buy a new ribbon to replace it. You have to take part in the whole system.
connector swap
