Wow this 67 year old woman had no trouble following your video. Thanks so much plumbers wanted too much!
I’m glad you found the video helpful and that you were able to save some money! Thank you for watching!
Curious: how much did the plumbers want?
This saved me so much money! Toilet had been running for months, and my water bill was through the roof! Thank you!
Glad it helped! Thank you for watching and please consider giving the video a thumbs up if you haven't already! Thank you!
I had to use vise grips and a steak knife to saw off the old nut. And then I DID IT! I installed my Korky! It works perfectly! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You saved me from calling a plumber. I just had to think about how to get the old part off because a hacksaw would not fit in the space, but an old steak knife did. Don't worry, I was careful. LOL. You are amazing and thanks for this video!
Eve Paludan thank you for the compliment! Please give the video a thumbs up if you found it helpful! Thank you! I’m glad you were able to get it off!
@@5MinuteFixit Thumbs up! And thanks again!
A steak knife...you're an animal!! I'm surprised by the # of ladies watching these types of videos, but when I give it a second thought, it makes sense. I'm also surprised/impressed that you know what vise grips are. Does my lovely wife know all of this stuff as well, & simply feigns inability, knowing full well it'll trigger my white-knight hard wiring so that I'll take care of all of this culturally masculine stuff? Or does she pretend she can't do this stuff in order to feed my ego? You're not going to tell me, are you?
Usually i check multiple videos to compare for my needs. Yours was all i needed! very rare that happens. Excellent job sir, thank you! 👊🏿
That’s great! Thank you for the compliment! Thank you for watching!
I had an old fill valve that didn't want to "regulate" the final water level in the tank accurately, so I decided to try the Korky. I'm now "sold" on this brand. Easier to install and adjust than the other brands.
I agree it is an easy install! Thank you for watching!
Both toilets just broke. Wish me luck . Thank you for this video as I watched some others who pulled the tank and I was not up for that challenge .
Good luck, thank you for watching and be sure to let us know how everything goes!
@@5MinuteFixit ThAnk you so much the Korky was so easy to install . I was quoted 188$ from a plumber nope no way . I’m so happy . Thank you again for sharing such valuable information .
@@Hell5150 that’s great, glad you were able to save the money and do it yourself! Thank you for watching and please consider giving the video a thumbs up if you haven’t already! Thank you!
I had a nearly new toilet (4 years old) and the valve suddenly started to make loud filling noise. I bought the Korky and it's extremely silent compared to the other one. Would definitely recommend!
Bruno Villeneuve thank you for your insight! Please consider giving the video a thumbs up if you haven’t already! Thank you for watching!
Well done video! Thank you!
I wish I had watched this BEFORE installing my Korky repair kit. The instructions with the Korky were overall very good as instructions go (nowadays); butI had some leakage at the end of my install. Turns out I had not gotten the tank LEVEL; left to right or front to back and had possibly overtightened the bolts. So basically, I started over, used a level, did not tighten the bottom bolts too tightly, and now have a dry toilet (at least for today). I do have a portable water leak detector I put under the toilet that will tell me if there is any leakage.
I hope you do not mind if I share something with you. On one other video I saw today, the man doing it was a certified plumber. He used a small amount of plumbers putty beneath the rubber washer that goes inside the tank. On the outside of the tank, he used another rubber washer, then a metal washer, and then the nut. He snugly tightened them. THEN he place the tank onto the bowl, and then used one more rubber washer, then a metal washer and finally a WING NUT that you just tighten by hand, no tools so it is hard to over-tighten it.
Between his video and yours, I do not need to look at anything else!!!! I am now a "pro" toilet repair kit installer! LOL!! If I experience any leakage in the near future, I"ll head to the hardware store to pick up the spare rubber and metal washers plus a couple of wing nuts and do it like a pro plumber would.
Thank you for the great tip from the other video and for the kind words about my video! Thank you for watching and please consider giving the video a thumbs up if you haven’t already! Thank you!
Lost the instructions to my kit. Your video was perfect. Thanks. The only difference in my install is that I use an old sponge and bucket to get the final water out of the bottom of the tank vs. the wet/dry vac.
Thank you for watching, I'm glad it was helpful! Please consider giving the video a thumbs up if you haven't already! Thank You!
God Bless You! Thank you, from a home repair novice.
Thank you for watching! I’m glad it helped you out!
Don't mean to nit pick but that water level is too high. Need to twist the valve to unlock and lower it a notch or 2.
Great video thank you. I did have to return my valve as it was leaking slightly from the assembly. It went in very easily. Again thanks

This is the second one for the basement bat. czcams.com/users/postUgkxOuLt8IL_GxhhaK8DBuKEL-zV0UJVpWZn , works great
Thank you for watching!
I Teflon tape the threads where the nut goes and where the water pipe connects
in the directions, it says specifically to turn the down spout AWAY from the fill valve....
Thnx! Very nice to have as an aid
thank you sir. was helpful.
Glad you found it helpful! Thanks for watching!
Thanks very helpful take care.

As it fills should there be water coming from underneath the white cap as well?
Yes there should be water coming from that area as well. Thank you for watching!
my toilet has stopped flushing...the water goes down and comes back up (to a small point) but it won't flush. Is this the part I need to replace? thank you.
Ours was not like that. We have to hold the flusher fro several seconds before it will flush.. what’s wrong with ours? We hired someone to install it.
Hi, I had this fill valve installed only a few months ago and it's been fine. But the past week or so, what happens after it's flushed, you can hear a hissing sound like water is building up inside the tank and then it will shut off. It has something to do with the water level at that little window, I think. But I don't know if it means it's getting too much or too little water. Could you by any chance suggest what I might try to fix this so I don't have to get the plumber back out here? Sure would appreciate it. Thanks!
There maybe some water leaking past the flapper valve causing the full valve to periodically be triggered to fill the tank again.
What if you fill valve makes a squeak sound when turning in and off?
Thank you!
Thank you for watching and please consider giving the video a thumbs up if you haven’t already! Thank you!
I just installed my second kit they last bout 10 years though can't understand why after all the different adjustments I made on this kit why the water fills up to normal height in water bowl but just as the valve shuts off the water goes down in the bowl bout inch or so, only thing I did with this new kit is installed a 3" flapper by korkys not sure if that has anything to do with it?
I don't think the flapper would be causing this...that's kind of a mystery as to why it would be doing that.
you over filled the tank into the over fill tube
I agree. He did not adjusted the water level.
I'm missing the white locknut that goes underneath I'm wondering if the existing locknut from old valve will work? I didnt want to start replacement until I knew whether the old one would fit. Anyone know?
Yes it should work as long as it threads onto the shaft, hopefully this helps! Thank you for watching! Please consider giving the video a thumbs up if you haven't already! Thank you!
@@5MinuteFixit thx a bunch you were correct it did fit it installed easily the only issue I ended up with is a tiny bit of leak underneath not enough to drip even so I'm thinking the plumbers putty or other stuff around the treads will do the trick? After sitting awhile it stayed dry today but it was definitely damp right after so I don't want to take a chance on a long weekend and come home to a mess. Ty again!
Yo tengo uno igual á ése pero no sé Español y necesito por favor que sea en Español para poder entender, yo soy de Cuba pero me lo compraron en Estados Unidos y no é podido terminar de graduarle el agua, Saludos
I installed the repair kit but water is still leaking through the new flapper. It's like the flapper isn't landing quite right over the opening. Any suggestions?
I would clean the area that the flapper rests on. Sometimes there can be a build up there. Hopefully this helps, thank you for watching!
What if the water keeps running
Lower the valve
Bruno Villeneuve I had returned that one. My next one worked fine as it should
Another video on korkey universal didn’t cut the tube on the flush valve
It depends on your specific setup whether or not it needs to be cut. Thank you for watching!
Show how to flush water heater
The flapper btw is trash. Keep your old one or just buy one separately. The ball on the flap is too narrow to hold water. My experience just now.
Necesito sea en Español por favor
Crap do not use
This thing is JUNK! I won't buy another one. This was one (really 3) items I'll regret buying from Home Depot. All of them failed in about 7 months ... at the same time! It's garbage 🗑! 🤬
