9:30 I think why it does this is because the game's logic wants you to glide with the power up, but you also have the propeller box, so the propeller box takes priority before the gliding.

2 things you missed:
1. you can hold R to make jr go further and not teleport back
2. If fury bowser is being too much of a pain, you can go to any loading zone to reset fury bowser, making him instantly go back to sleep
9:27 It's bc although you cant use the propeller while crouching, you can still flutter. While fluttering, you *can* use the propeller.
Nathaniel is a freaking Legend.
Honestly, this was a dope run, it's rare to see teamwork like that even possible in these games so it was kinda cool.
The reason why it makes you use the propeller box is because the game makes you have the hover for the tanooki leaf, but also senses that you have the box so it makes you propeller since it turns into a normal falling animation instead of a crouched one. It goes like this: Mario: power up: tanooki leaf: jump: hover: is Mario wearing propeller box: yes: use propeller box. And that’s how it works.
Here’s an explanation for why the propeller box works with the tanooki suit but not with other power ups (while crouch jumping): when you use the suit, you’ll cancel out of the crouch jump into the floating, and that will allow the box to work. I know this because it’s the same with long jumps.

If you ever want to try to max% it while crouching: you could theoretically get on plessie and then make her dissapear by going into the goop. That technically wouldn't count as a jump, and it would open a lot more possibilities for cat shines...
The reason you can use the propeller while crouching with the tanooki is because when you hold a with tanooki, you start floating, meaning you are no longer crouched, so you can propel

You know what I learned? Playing as Bowser Jr. and holding crouch not in mid air would keep Jr still. So there is a tip.

I just finished bowsers fury without jumping today and it was incredibly fun, you should try it, you have to do a ton of thinking outside the box and there's just barely enough possible shines to finish the game

The Summoning Salt music at the end made me have some nostalgia.
Technically, Mario can still roll and still be crouching as long as you continue to hold the button to crouch when Mario is rolling. So, you could still technically roll in the challenge, but that's just what I think.

I know exactly why the Leaf + Propeller works. If you hold crouch jump while in the air, you start fluttering. When paired with a Propeller, it propels you on the same frame if not paired.
To save you all from the long waste of 20 minutes, yes, yes you can, with the exception of key missions of course. I’ve done this challenge the day the game came out and yeah it’s really simple to do.
It got so le-epic dramatic at 20:06!! And it started at 0:00, also ended at 22:52
