    The only part of this riffle that is questionable. Please make in next versions full length pikatini rail with 20moa tilt. It would be perfection.

    I'd be interested to know what issues in current scope mounting systems this new scope mount was developed to address.

      1. Mounting rings directly to S20 is 0 MOA. The Optilock base can be purchased with a 20 MOA incline which is better for long range precision shooters.
      2. Scope position is limited mounting directly because of the limited rails. The Optilock base option allows more flexibility in scope position.
      I've been using a Zeiss Conquest V4 6-24x50 with 30mm Warne Maxima Medium (214M) rings mounted directly to my Sako S20 300 Win Mag with good results, The bell of the scope is 3/16" above the barrel which is good (maybe a tad close). My primary issue is scope position -- I'd like to pull the scope back a little, but I can't because the S20 rail is so limited. So I bought the 20 MOA Optilock S20 base and Medium 30mm Optilock Rings (sold in pairs off Beretta USA's website). This configuration should be ideal for my Zeiss with 50mm objective, and also have just enough clearance for a 56mm objective if I choose to do that in the future. And I gain more elevation clicks with the 20 MOA base.

      @richardharris8273 thanks for the explanation. I just bought the S20 in 7 mag and was wondering about this. I'm going to be using it for hunting so I'm going to try to just use the 0 MOA that's built in since I won't be shooting over 500 yards if a coyote is crossing a field.

      Hallo!

      Hello! I then decided on a different rifle scope. Leica Prs 5-30x56, with a 36 center tube diameter. Then I got the medium rings from Sako, and they fit perfectly, even the thermal image attachment is perfect, (Night Pearl 35 Elite) so that there is still enough air space between runs. I'm satisfied with the stability, high quality, and everything related to assembly. Lg

      According to the Sako instructions that came with my S20 Optilock base and rings:
      Attachment Screw Torque Settings
      Recoil Stopper = 11 in-lbs [1,2 Nm]
      Lower Ring = 26 in-lbs [2,9 Nm]
      Base = 50 in-lbs [5,7 Nm]
      Upper Ring = 15 in-lbs [1,7 Nm]
