  • In this video we inspect the E010 which is a close replica of the Blade Inductrix, have a bit of line of site to check out the agility and add a camera to fpv around the house.
    **Please note at this time the solder pads for the red and blue motor wires are mislabeled on the board. (9.1.2016) ***

    The small transmitter is the biggest hurdle for me. I pinch when I fly, the small transmitter and stiff springs make it difficult for me to fly the E010 precisely. Hopefully the deviationtx team will identifiy the protocol and include it in the deviationtx software.
    The E010 is a viable option for your indoor flying. Durability may also be in its favor as the struts appear thicker and generally frame uses more material to connect the inductors/hoops.
    Does the Inductrix FC fit the E010, yes, but only three of the four screw holes line up. Should work fine with foam tape or other mounting options.

    I have a couple of these on the way. I guess i need to prder up some spintechs.
    Yeah it looks like modding the battery connector is easy peasy if you solder.
    It looks from here like you could simply solder the connector on the top side, or replace it with whichever connector suits.
    I'm going try my hand at FPVing it too. I guess many of us are there or are headed there.
    I also look forward to flying these with my Devo

    micro losi batteries fit on these connectors. You have to cut the little nibs of plastic on the losi and it will fit right in. Also you can solder a second connector on the flight controller. You solder it on the top on the fc and dont remove the original one. They both will work.

    awesome Nick. Thanks for the review. I couldn't decide between red and green so I ordered both. still waiting for them. I plan on modding the battery for sure. I'd like to get a 380mah in it, we will see.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  Před 8 lety

      I would calculate the x mah against x gram to find the tipping point between mah and weight. two is good. I tend to "rest" my brushed quads between flights. Not sure its needed or not, gives me piece of mind.

    • @jeffbrewster4024
      @jeffbrewster4024 Před 8 lety

      +Nick Burns I will have to look up the ratio of weight to mah. I'm not sure what it is. I fly 5 batteries one right after he other through my micro brushed quads haven't burnt a motor yet. I have a dromida vista that burnt motors after very little flight and the replacements were crap too. I won't buy dromida again.

    Nick, what are the dimensions of the receiver board? Would it be possible to take that out and fit in a Scisky instead?

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  Před 8 lety +1

      scisky won't fit natively, the corners stick out about 4mm. The stock inductrix board will fit, so the bee brain should fit too. There are actually mounting holes for the stock inductrix and bee brain. Stock board dimensions: nose is 6mm the middle is 22mm and tail is 8.5mm. The gaps are consistent, but the board measurement front and back are different.

    • @bytesabre
      @bytesabre Před 8 lety

      Beebrain should fit, it was designed for the stock inductrix after all. The problem will be whether any of the screw holes line up.

    Question: If I get two of these (so my son and I can fly alongside in the living room), would they work or would we have interference issues with the signals and the controllers? Thanks for your answer.

    • @NickBurnsFPV

      Two or more can fly at the same time. If you put fpv cameras on them change the channels so not to interfere with each others video signal.

    Only flew my E010 once....... Before slapping a cam on it ! :)
    I used one of the Eachine EF-01 all in ones (Because I had it handy) and I'm amazed that those tiny motors can still get that lot off the ground. I've ordered a few better (200mAh) cells and some Chaoli CL-615 motors to try to get back some of the limited punch this little quad had...... I just hope the board can take the extra current these'll pull through it (Ordered a spare just in case. :) ).
    As stock (For the money) These are an amazingly good little quad. I'm blown away with mine.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  Před 8 lety

      yes, Eachine did make some improvements. I think the struts will hold up better too. What batteries did you get?

    • @scottbingham1907
      @scottbingham1907 Před 8 lety

      Just the ones branded as "Eachine 3.7V 200mah 30C Lipo Upgrade Battery for Blade Inductrix" on BangGood. God knows if they're any good, But the folks reviewing them seem to like 'um, So we'll see.
      I'm going to have to trim the end of the battery holder on the E010, de-solder the power plug and reconnect it on a couple of short wires to get these cells to fit , But that shouldn't be an issue.
      Apart from this and the motors, I doubt I'll upgrade much else on my "Cheapskate whoop" as I've also got a QX90 (And some blade guards) coming soon to cater for my indoor FPV amusement needs. :)

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  Před 8 lety

      I like the name "Cheapskate whoop". Have you tried the 205mah or 175 mylipos? www.mylipo.us/Lipo-205mAh-37V-1S-25C-50C They are what I use. They also have a warehouse at mylipo.de

    • @scottbingham1907
      @scottbingham1907 Před 8 lety

      I'd never even heard of them before you linked to their site.
      But as I said, I've already ordered the BangGood ones, and don't intend to spend much more on the E010. It was really only ment to be a stop gap while waiting for the QX90 to come back into stock, But I REALLY wasn't expecting it to be as good as it is. Part of the reason for going for the QX90 was because I've already got a metric shedload of suitable cells to use on it. I used to be heavily into E-Cigs, And made several chunky multi LiPo based "Box mods" for people, That was before the market caught up and suddenly you couldn't move for high powered devices. Despite trying to use them on everything I can (My backup FS i6 TX now runs a parallel pair, And even my old beard trimmer's had the pathetic little set of duff Ni-Mh cells replaced with a single LiPo and 5V charging board...... From 2.4 to 4.2V..... It goes like the clappers now ! LOL !) I still have a big LiPo safe bag full of these little Turnigy nano-tech cells.
      I've saved the link to my browser and if I need any cells in the future I'll have another look to compare prices.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  Před 8 lety

      sounds like your set for batteries for awhile. If you want to explore you might also consider micro-motor-warehouse.com/collections/batteries/products/mylipo-480mah-40c-1s-battery-3-7v Its the best battery I have tried on micros. I have fallen out of favor with HK 1S batteries.

    Wow! This video brings back some memories for sure. It's amazing how quickly this hobby is progressing. You've always been an inspiring pilot. Even back then. I have one question. I remember when you first flew through your treadmill and I nearly jumped out of my chair with excitement! Now you zip through it with ease every time you fly indoors. Is that the same treadmill? Is it just an expensive and nostalgic race gate or does somebody actually use it for it's intended purposes? I know it's a stupid question but I'm just curious.

    • @NickBurnsFPV

      scisky won't natively fit. The corners just poke out to much. With some creativity I suspect it can be done. I added link to the E010 parts in the description. goo.gl/CfSDUT I think getting just the frame $2.89 to attempt the mod is a wise choice.

    LOL... the battery connector that comes on this quad is the same as the "High-Performance Upgrade" or "PowerWhoop" connector. Folks pay $3-6 to upgrade to this connector so they can use better batteries and not be saddled with the stock NanoQX power connector which is a POS and causes premature LVC.
    This Quad is available now for $13.99... as a cheap buildup with a NQX FC or aftermarket FuriBee/F3 Brushed FC, plus it comes with 2X props, battery and free upgrade parts... it's a no-brainer, man.
    That is if you can stop yourself from leaving it stock and just throwing it in your dufflebag for a quickie at lunchtime. :p

  • @tradingthetrendwithstrongw1123

    Uses same battery connector as Blade QX 3D and WLtoys V911, I have both of those but the batteries all have the connector attach to the battery with no lead, looks like best option will be to solider a connector with lead, I see no reason to remove the old connector, just solider on other side of board , but then again as you said stock batteries are cheap

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  Před 7 lety

      yep. I did add a led to the top and left the original in place here. czcams.com/video/0IFja3D7_UUS/video.htmleemed to be logical to leave the original connector in place. Its not in the way of the batteries or anything.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  Před 7 lety

      This might be from the small transmitter. The stick movements have to be so small to get a smoothish move its really hard. You can extend the pads higher with nylon standoffs or anything that will fit on the nub and in the hole of the pad, that should help get that finer control. I don't think your unit is defective, a failure or defect would likely be more dramatic, like if its spinning like a top or one motor won't spin or can't get the quad off the ground.

      Not natively, it would have to go above or below the inductors/whoops (best above). The scisky corners poke out to much. Adding the scisky will take some light modding, or small 3d print parts.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  Před 8 lety

      That's amazing. I had never noticed the film, I just thought it was my crappy lighting. Scale film has been officially removed. :) As to your question. I don't feel much of a difference in flight. I happen to have a stock inductrix I put a cam on, flying them both with the devo 7e, I don't notice much difference. I do think the inductrix might be slightly more stable. I can't say I am sure on that. I have recalibrated the E010 a time or two, but if there is a difference its minimal. When I fly my upgraded (motors) inductrix I notice the difference but that's not fair. I have left the E010 with stock motors for now.

    That's fantastic indoor range on both the TX and VTX. I have the same camera on a Syma X11 and couldn't go nearly as far indoors before image and controls were gone. Did you mod that tiny controller and are you using a diversity VRX?

    What fpv goggles are you using? I'm looking for a good beginner option but I've flown for years. Just never fpv.... So I'm ok spending a little more on something that will last me a while. Not really interested in racing... Just a solid fpv device.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  Před 7 lety +1

      The market is really split into halves. the $100 or sub $100 and the $500 market. Now having used the FatShark HD3 goggles for a few weeks, I don't think I would purchase again. Especially as I have to send them back to get the right optic fixed (defect). If I were purchasing again, I would likely start with the Furibee VR01 or the KDS Vision goggles. The KDS goggles have been rebranded a time or two...JJRC sells them as well. I would go the VR01 only due to the simplicity, nearly and battery with jst can power it and the reception, screen and comfort are just as good if not better (comfort) to the KDS goggles. My knock on the KDS goggles is the power button, its stand by not off. So I either had to continue to unplug the battery or add another button. So I added the button as the plug is a bit of a pain. Neither has a dvr but that can be added (KDS) or rather simple to add (VR01). Some find the KDS nose piece isn't big enough, I find it fine.

      @mikefas5406 Před 7 lety

      Nick Burns thank you sir! I will take a look at both. I thought fat shark was the best but I didn't think 500 Goggles should be my first set.(my wife will agree but I didn't ask her! Lol) I'm totally new to this stuff. Seems like the only place to buy is online. My local hobby shops aren't into it.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  Před 7 lety

      I saved up and my wife saw how much I fly and knew I lusted after them, they are sexy, but not economical. I think the primary "feature" of fatshark goggles is portability. The image is no better than the other models I mentioned and FatShark batteries are $25 each unless you make your own. My local hobby shop is so overpriced and has only very commercial quads. I called and asked a question once, they had no idea what I was talking about. A "drone" store opened up recently, they are building stock. I think its a group of racers, I will likely buy from them when I can but the micro stuff will surely be online.

      I think its close. We always look for better/best. Some might want more yaw with one or roll with the other. The nice bit, its close enough to the same for both it should impact race performance much if at all. Then we have the benefit of new flight controllers to put in these and change how they fly to suit our needs.

      Exactly. The bigger battery in the video will fit if the front of the battery tray is removed. It would still require a battery connection mod as that batter doesn't use the mcpx connection. The camera (fx798t or other) is added, just like in the case of a "tiny whoop".

    How long the engines lasts ???? How many flights???
    this are brushed engines , so tiny that can't be repaired.
    I had the Sima x4 I liked the quad but the engines had very short life only a few flights ( 8 - 10 flights )
    Brushless is much much better, much longer life span.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  Před 7 lety

      True, brushless tend to run longer. There are many variables in motor life, flight style, motor impacts, severity of impacts etc. In the case of my brushed micros the number of flights hasn't been short enough to remember the flight count. I would estimate 40+ flights.

    • @stelic9515
      @stelic9515 Před 7 lety

      Thanks for your replay
      Perhaps the engines to syma x4 is bad or because I was very beginer and I crushed many times.
      I changed the engines a few times and the same.
      An engine that is brushed( have some tiny wires that touch the collector at very high RPM )
      will not last long.
      Brushless are better by far in my opinion.
      I like alot the quad E010 and hope thy will make a brushless version.

    Thanks for the video, I'm getting one. I think I might put a spare Nano QX board in this, with Spintech or MMW fast motors. So much cheaper than an "official" Tiny Whoop

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  Před 8 lety

      yep yep. I think Blade should have iterated faster to capitalize. I still wonder why no 7mm or 8mm motor variants yet. Well there are those options in 3D print or heavy options.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  Před 8 lety

      I have it seems pretty good. Doesn't it have a section that is CF? Seems like that is the section everything would attach to, otherwise the motors would rip it apart. That might be fun, but only once.

    • @kekagiso
      @kekagiso Před 7 lety

      Yes it's stock E010, it just feels like something's wrong with it since it can never auto balance. I've seen a couple of videos where people seem to control it seemlessly, it always goes off at some direction when I try to fly it

    Stupid that they did the battery the way they did. They should've known people would want to Whoop it, and you have to modify it to get a lead off for a micro cam. I'm gonna put a Losi connector on it and use the Floureon 150mah 30C batteries that I already have ten of. They're awesome little packs, you can get 5 of them on Gearbest for a couple bucks a pop

    • @NickBurnsFPV

      I got a red one that actually had the all in one camera/Vtx that came with it. $90 bucks back then..I literally burnt the motors up the first week I had it. And killed many packs! And was on Ebay/Amazon buying more motors in bulk until Newbeedrone motors come out. I learned the fundamentals of flying with this little quad. And then Adam Douglas sold me my first Tomoquad 2.5. build. And from there after many crashes I learned to fly acro! And the rest is history now after thousands of dollars hundreds of builds I still get excited to fly😀 Only fun a old man that is 50 years old can have thats got family children and a company to run. Good times with FPV
