- William Green, author of the highly rated book "The Great Minds of Investing", will speak about the most important lessons he has learned in two decades of studying, interviewing, and writing about many of the world's best investors. He will discuss how you can become more successful - both as an investor and in other areas of life - by reverse-engineering the greatest investors and figuring out how they stack the odds of success in their favor. The goal: to become richer, wiser, and happier.
William has written for many publications, including Time, The New Yorker, Fortune, Forbes, Barron's, Money, Worth, Bloomberg Markets, and The Economist. He was the Editor of the European, Middle Eastern, African, and Asian editions of Time. As a co-author, he worked closely with Guy Spier, helping him to write his memoir, The Education of a Value Investor. William has interviewed many remarkable investors, such as Sir John Templeton, Joel Greenblatt, Howard Marks, Bill Ackman, Seth Klarman, Bill Miller, Tom Russo, Marty Whitman, Bill Nygren, Donald Yacktman, Mohnish Pabrai, Jean-Marie Eveillard, Peter Lynch, Bill Ruane, and Michael Price.

Great way to have start a talk about investing "My Google stock is the only one over the last year that has done really well"
Great
William Green really is spot on with this talk. Every investor should at the very least watch this and I intend to buy his book. Great Stuff!!!
my reason for commenting is to encourage all those behind these talks, that we are very happy with such initiatives,in which solutions to common global challenges are raised.
Great work done.

Great sharing about the book, really looking forward to reading it in details. Thanks
There are a few lessons which I have found really good in this talk like being insensitive to the stock quotes when you know you are right and having humility.
Congratulations 👏👏

one of the best talk on investing
Love the phrase "defy gravity" at 00:05:00. My big aha was - "investing is life itself, to live is to invest"

Fantastic talk, fabulous book!
"A man can only take this much pain." Bill Miller.
Thats epic.
It is great to see your journey taking off William!

Excellent review of what it takes intellectually and emotionally to be a great investor.
Amazing talk.
Mohnish Pabrai too is Warren Buffett disciple 👍
The very important point "The ability to take pain". From Bill Miller.
All investors (both current and those wannabe) must bear this in mind.
Yes, all of you out there must bear this is mind.
Re-read this as often as you can.

Excellent!!
good video.
Wow! Brilliant!
Brilliant talk, thanks for sharing.
Market survivors are prone to survivorship bias. there are millions that failed and you better learn what NOT to do instead of WHAT to do. I am pretty sure, part of them didnt follow the crowd and still failed.
Still watching this !!
This guy sure rambled on but what was the specific investing strategies from his speech? What was his invest advise: be a contrarian? Sure you could be extremely lucky to purchase a great company early, but you also would benefit greatly by simply purchasing Index Funds or the FAANG companies over the last 10 years. He also seems to be a bit too impressed with fancy offices and private jets.
First, great investor has an extreme patience..
I have no idea how I ended up here when I wrote how to pronounce Maserati in British English !!!
every person has but 1 life, chasing money should not be the priority we busy ourselves with.
When the cameraman hates you! 36:13
Is this out of print or what? Only seeing used copies on amazon for $60+. No Kindle or Nook versions.
Hi. Thanks for your question. The book is available on Amazon and is still in print. There's no Kindle or Nook edition because it's an oversized book with remarkable photos by Michael O'Brien; it's beautifully designed and feels like more of a collector's item than something you'd typically want to read on a device. The publisher priced it at $75; Amazon is selling new copies for about $73, including shipping, so I think they have it about right. If you want to check out some of the profiles, Barron's and observer.com both ran excerpts that are available online. Thanks again. Best wishes, William
wow, 7 minutes struck home for me.
44:17 You find Ashok

Its all luck...people often confuse with skill.....if you aren't lucky you aren't going to make money..as simple as that...forecasting is useless....future is unknown...being pessimistic...is okay changes of making mistake is less....overoptimistic is bad.....
Lucky or Not. You gotta buy a ticket.
Dog and pony shows, Google talks is such crap and so are the robotic mindless employees. It's just a search algorithm and our support of it gives it value. **DO NOT RECOMMEND CHANNEL **
Major Crimes!
Awesome thanks
