It sounds reasonable for sure, the Problem is they have amazing chain cc if timed properly which makes merc considerably worse since they can stack cc and that's why even mercs won't save you. If that's the case in a Game I personally prefer going Edge of Night + Maw. It feels awful to play against that as a Mage.

Hey! I was thinking about playing qiyana for a while and I am really enjoying your content, and i have a question, how strong is qiyana in teamfightes especially in mid to late games.

That's what's best about her Kit. You rely on her Ulti a lot meaning if you miss it in a bad way you can lose the entire Teamight for your team. If you hit, it's almost impossible to lose a Teamfight, that's why Qiyana scales with the Experience/Skill of a Player.
