- In this video we show the unique sprinting form of 20 of the best females sprinters throughout the years including FloJo, Merlene Ottey, Allyson Felix, Elaine Thompson and more
Sprinters who were not included but also worthy of a spot are:
Marlies Gohr, Silke Moller, Juliet Cuthbert, Inger Miller, Torie Bowie.

Evelyn Ashford was always my favourite female sprinter growing up and I remember watching that race against Marita Koch in the 1979 World Cup (with Ron Pickering commentating), it is my all time favourite race. In European track and field in the 70s and 80s we were used to the muscular east Europeans with their mechanical dynamics, dominating. By contrast, Evelyn Ashford, a slip of a girl from Shreveport Louisiana with a preternatural ability to run fast, ran like a 'natural woman'. Koch, Goer, Drechsler, Wockel, she beat them all when they were in their PED pomp. In that race in Montreal, Pickering, used to years of watching the East German powerhouse cruising home, had to change tact as Ashford ran her down, forcing her to lose all form. Thanks for posting this celebration.
I feel ya. Evelyn is my favorite also. She was clean!
Ashlyn was perhaps the best of that era and the only one of them who I would ever believe was doing it clean, before her countrywoman along with the Europeans surpassed her with needles.
There have been so many great performances in the women's 200 in the last couple of seasons

Clean, smooth running style belongs to Flo Jo.. She is the only woman to hold 2 athletics world records for more than 35 years. There are people in our world who can do admirable things without any doping. Thanks to FloJo. REST IN PEACE❤

Watching all of these sprinters throughout the years the two most iconic to me were FloJo, Evelyn Ashford, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Alyson Felix, and Carmelita Jeter. FloJo reminded me so much of RB Eric Dickerson in that it didn't appear they were running so fast because of their form, but oh my goodness! Outside of FloJo, Jeter's form was so beautiful and powerful. Ashford just showed grit and determination to me. Felix was just silk to me watching her glide in her sprints. JJK was so poised she never put herself out of race contention in her prime...pure gold. However, the standard was FloJo...blessings.

It's a shame to see how far Germany haven fallen behind in women's sprinting having dominated for a couple of decades
They were on drugs. It is obvious. After they became stricter with the anti-doping tests, European runners started to decline. It is not a coincidence at all.
It just goes to show you how much of a difference peds make.
