The Strange World of Cancelled Fighting Games

Fighting games are great... Most of them at least! But what about those that for various reasons never see the light of day?
From the East to the West, studios around the world develop so many fighting games all the time, so it makes sense that some will be cancelled every now and then.

A pretty interesting inversion of this is “Daraku Tenshi: The Fallen Angels,” a 1998 fighting game that-if I understand correctly-was unceremoniously released to Japanese arcades in a playable but relatively unfinished state.

Never heard of Psi-Fy before. It looked like a really cool, experimental game and it would've interesting to see another crack at the arena fighter genre. Shame it never really got finished.

I still want CFAS: Code Holder to leak, ngl. Especially now that we have 246 emulation. Wish they'd just do what Sega did with Golden Axe and just release the beta for free on PC or something.

Doa being a ninja gaiden action game makes sense as Kasumi and Ayane were used in several Ninja Gaiden games. Also characters like Rachel and Momiji were added to doa fighting games.
As if they just took assets from the action games and added it to ninja gaiden.

that was really interesting, while i've heard a lot about fighting all stars and tekken x sf, i didn't know about any of the others besides code chronos
like i'm even a huge sega fan and i've never EVER heard of psy-phi, it's certainly an interesting concept, but seems like it could be too simple or monotonous.
now since i'm a huge doa fan, i've already heard of code chronos, but was always wondering what progressive was, from the concept art, maybe it was turned into nioh? i get a kinda similar vibe from it
one thing i could say with that itagaki quote, is that he could've been messing around saying that if they wanna disprove him saying it was a rogue game then they'd have to tell the truth
the story was definitely gonna be about kasumi and ayane's lives before the series, and it's speculated that the intro to doa2 ultimate was a glimpse and possibly a teaser for chronos, considering we see ayane and kasumi as children, and a lot of their backstory
i think it was gonna be a action game, considering team ninja did ninja gaiden and that kasumi and ayane's lives don't really suit a fighting game with how few characters are there for a roster

I'm working on improving the audio in future. My editing software is weird with audio sometimes so even though it sounds fine to me when I'm making the video, it gets weird once rendered/uploaded
