I just found one of these for 10$ on a flea market, at around 09:45 you say that the cable-holder isn't factory, but mine has one aswell, albeit in a different color.

I am servicing a TP 600A. The electrical tape on the motor mounting plate is factory installed. I am the first person to open this unit up.

I never touch my stylus with my fingers due to oils I use a stylus brush to gently rub to see if there is sound but that's just me to each his own

Nice and very usable video! I have same model and seems that arm lift has no resistance at all while down arm at record-platter. Is there some tip how to fix that? Thanks

Maybe a silly question cuz they are plastic and cheap, but if you come across an ATLP60? I just think it would interesting to see a modern “beginner” turntable

When I get a used TT. For me if it came from the maker with grease I clean it and use a Synthetic grease. I mean it worked for 30 years with what it came with why not use it again lol. But everyone uses what they think works for them. I use oil to on some parts.

I have the same turntable, but it is spinning slower than it should.
    What could be the problem?

Belt, motor, spindle - it could be a multitude of reasons.

Or what about only going for Direct Drive Turntables like the REVOX B975 or the PIONEER Direct Drive Turntable maybe I am wrong.

It's an AC motor. It's driven off line frequency.

  • @Poppinwheeeeellllllieeeeez

Nice vid. You have had a run of shite tables lately. You should buy a 5.5 mm nice to have. Did you ever taste the bearing grease? Synthetic grease is nice. Bar and chain oil. You should chill out a bit about the oil. Some guys say grease attracts dirt.....sure in 45 years when it needs servicing again. 99% electronics grade isopropyl alcohol removes old belt instantly. Can't do much about the speed......it is what it is. I refuse to service them.

That 5.5 is on my list of things to buy, if I ever remember...

Scratching Sanyo of my list, too complicated to maintain. Denon and Yamaha are much simpler.

If I had left the protective film on the chrome of the mat for 50 years, and a tech like you peeled it off I would be livid, and sue your ass. It’s not your turntable so leave it alone.
