  • I'll show you how you can easily run RealFlight Evolution RC flight simulator on an Apple MAC. It's an easy process to get it working but there are a few tips I'll share which may catch you out. I'll also show how to download extra Aircraft and Airports for FREE!
    The process I follow is:
    1. Download emulation software
    2. Install Windows 11
    3. Install Steam
    4. Download RealFlight
    5. Make sure your emulation software is detecting the transmitter
    6. Run RealFlight!

    Good luck with your sim practice! I used the Aerofly sim for IMAC practice and it really helped me get up to speed for those early spring flights (and learn new maneuvers). The advantage of Aerofly over Realflight is the grid that helps with alignment to the runway. Last I checked the RF grid is a dome, which is useless. The AF grid is straight and parallel to the runway.

      Hi. Thanks for the tips. I’ve already started practicing the IMAC basic schedule , on the sim. It’s really helping me remember each manoeuvre and line up for the following one.
      Interesting to know about Aerofly, I might have to give that a go too! Cheers.

    Incredibly helpful - thanks! I’m wondering if you’ve had success with the wireless dongle (Spektrum WS2000) on a Mac through parallels? I can’t seem to get the calibration to work with my NX8 - I can’t get the sticks and switches to do what I want them to…

      Hi, I've not tried the wireless dongle but as long as the MAC OS can see it then Parallels should too. As long as you have pressed the USB setting in parallels to allow it to pass through from Mac to Windows.
      Does RealFlight not detect the TX at all?

    Is your Mac a M1 (ARM Processor I mean)? Or a Intel one? I have a ARM one and just would like to make sure it works too before buying the game. Thank you for the great content!

      Hi, it’s an M1 Mac. If it was intel I would have used bootcamp rather than emulation software. However this setup is still working well for me. Thanks for the feedback.

    Do you know if this Interlink you have works directly with Aerofly RC for Mac or only with Real Flight?

      Hi, sorry I don’t know if it would work or not. I’ve looked for a free trial of Aerofly to try it but couldn’t find one

    I have been a Mac guy for 21yr. Definitely not doing all that I’d rather buy a PC tower, and I don’t know if I’m going to do that just for a flight simulator lol

      @MattTakharRC  Před 5 měsíci

      I almost bought a PC, then couldn’t bring myself to go back to using one lol.
      It’s an easy setup and does work well. The one issue I have with it is the cost of the emulation software, the fact it’s a yearly subscription. I’m going to look at other emulators that are a one time purchase.

      @@MattTakharRC oh man… I am anti-subscription as well. That’s one of the reasons I got rid of adobe premiere Pro for video editing because of the subscription. Thanks for all the info. Happy Flying!

    but you get a Mac version of Realflight?

    • @MattTakharRC
      @MattTakharRC  Před 3 měsíci

      RealFlight is compatible only with Microsoft Windows and cannot be used with Mac OS/OSX operating systems.
      There are other flight simulators that do run natively on Macs
