Bigger planes do indeed fly better, mostly because air molecules stay the same size. It's also why bigger gliders are more efficient too (I fly F5J and F3K).

Awesome! We had a German chap in our gliding club, who at age 17 flew an FW190 in the last months of the war. He took an American cannon shell to his right bumcheek and lost quite a lot of flesh there.

I found out recently that the pin in the front nose leg sheared off which caused the retract to fail. Unfortunately it did cause a lot of damage 😢

Hi Matt, I’ve been using the Gyro on a 16IZ with pretty much the same set up as you’ve demonstrated and it works just fine. However, I’m curious on the gain setup option using either a three way switch or dial switch (C1-C5). Can you please shine some light on how to use this and why it could be useful? Maybe another scenario to make flying more beneficial or end in disaster 🤔

I 💖 Futaba... T16SZ for me... And as of late April Futaba released the USA version of the TM18 Tx/Rx combo 900Mhz add on. So now I have both 2.4GGhz and 900 Mhz simultaneously. There is a separate Rx that connects with the new Futaba Rxs in series with Rx-RX link or if used with Futaba DLPH can connect as a separate Rx, I'm Not sure about Powerbox products? . Futaba showing some promise, lol.

You have a powerbox atom but you fly the futaba as your daily? I dream of having a powerbox radio or a jeti ... wouldn't mind trying the frisky tandem t20 w ethos on it because it has the 2.4ghz and 900mhz dual band for redundancy amd no losing signal. I like my tx16s with elrs rx alot. I'm running 1 w output power on 250hz packet rate and I can get 10km range with a drone so I can fly my planes on 500hz w 1watt and get .2 ms latency so it's instant input and can fly my plane till it dissapears...I put a camera and vtx on a Crack yak and flew it 8 km away... but def hope to get a powerbox or jeti someday when I can afford it

Be aware that if using the 553 gyro with the DLPH version 2 and the 2 Rx, the telemetry does not work. I was about to get one for my build until I read the instructions. I called Futaba. Great customer service, as no one answered but called me back later. I asked if there was some hack and the Futaba tech said there is no way around it. So that's that😢 I went with the Powerbox Mercury🥰
