SUXYNXX TAETAE isn't the slurp a good thing ? It shows enjoyment and thankful for the food... I read the louder they slurp the nicer standard the food is in. Is this correct?

The cuttlefish gonads, or cuttlefish eggs, are a specialty of kerkennah islands, Tunisia. A delight

When I was growing up in Japan, they were cooked in Sukiyaki type sauce and sold everywhere. They were very popular. And they tasted just like cooked scallops. I didn't even know what they were but so delicious. Haven't seen them sold for 25 years or so.

Foodstalls and restaurant in my place sells this as cuttlefish eggs,
    when apparently it is not.
The same with what we sometime found in some mackerel.

Someone please answer. These squid sperm sacks(shirako) were sold at local Japanese Delis up to 30 years ago in Japan. They were cooked in sweet Teriyaki type soy sauce and were delicious and very popular. They didn't have any nasty taste, more like scallops. Why they are not sold anymore?

Shirako=testes. Kouika = cuttlefish. It's very common to eat shirako in Japan, particularly from male fish, usually in sashimi. It's quite gross for other cultures. But they are good actually.
