Hello nihal.. my doubt is about the lowering in the video the meaning of lowering is just lowered the lifeboat upto the water level with or without operating crew and release hooks should not be released (ie the boat is touching to water with the hooks are connected to the boat ) is that correct ??
I have one question...in rough weather while lowering a life boat during abandonship, If we have on/off road release system.. do we have to make fast the painter???!before lowering??
Hey Bro No need of painter in free fall and on load release in rough seas. As we want to Abandon the ship ASAP, also all crew to be onboard then before free fall launching or in on load release.
arjunrampal18 Free fall lowering if done then you have to launch within 6months. Hence remember 1-3 if lowered then between 3-6 months you have to do launching either by free fall or simulated launch. Hence in 1 yr you will do 2 launching and 2 lowering.

When 25 %of crew change then drill will be before 24 hr of sailing or after sailing
