If i remember correctly Mamamoo was the first "vocal" group to do a Kiling Voice, before them there was only "Killing Verse", same concept but with korean rappers/hiphop artists instead. But i'm glad it became trendy and now several other groups appeared too.

Yes, you're right, the whole Killing Voice was created because of them. Solar wanted to participate on Killing Verse, but they didn't let her because she's not a rapper.
This is just a small taste of how amazing Mamamoo’s discography is! They started with a lot of jazz, big band, and swing music for their debut but have broadened their music catalog a lot over the years. Just like BTS they have a little bit of everything to offer: pop, folk pop, R&B, hip hop, reggaeton, latin pop, EDM, soul, and an entire EP of ballads. Their group work is even more impressive after exploring who each of the girls are as soloists because their individual sounds and music preferences are so unique, but when they come together they fit seamlessly. I hope you get to enjoy more of their work, and I also recommend checking out their live performances- Mamamoo’s presence and vocals on stage are phenomenal!!!

Vocal gold standard among kpop girl groups and even better live than on recordings because of their always live world class vocals, charismatic stage presence and bff team chemistry.
4X4 team of all-stars and best friends. They're involved in all creative aspects of their career: songwriting, composing, arrangements, choreography, styling, MV concepts. Every member has a successful solo career - MMM was the first group to have all members chart on Billboard as solo artists while the group was still active as a unit. They believe they were destined to become best friends even if they weren't singers or in a group together.
Extremely diverse discography ranging from jazz, swing, r&b, hip hop, and latin pop to bossa nova, reggaeton, ballads, EDM and pop dance tracks and more. People say Mamamoo can sing anything and write a song about anything and Koreans invented a slang word or Korean acronym for them: BeLisMaMoo - Believe and Listen to Mamamoo.
Tho they should be global superstars their agency has done a poor job of promoting them internationally and until recently Mamamoo had only toured in East Asia. Mamamoo just completed their first US tour, where they set several records for ticket sales. I don't know the final figures but they sold the most tickets for a kpop girl group on their first US tour and became the first girl group of any nationality to sell over 70K tickets on their debut US tour since TLC and Spice Girls.
Mamamoo has dozens of group, solo and subunit singles and albums and there are hundreds of hours of terrific live performances available on yt. Enjoy getting to know one of Korea's most fascinating and talented groups.

I highly recommend you to check their immortal songs medley after this you won't regret
they appeared on that show in 2015 to get some attention because they were the first group to debut under their company(rbw). So basically immortal songs is a live show where they sing some old korean songs on it. they were the first idols to won the show multiple times which is rare (for idols) also they were invited to that show almost 13 times and they did a medly of their performances
you wouldn't be able to hear a loooot from moonbyul (the rapper)because she was struggling with her vocals confident but she's a great singer too recently she won a survival show called "second world" it's a competition between female rappers from different groups
and there mostly stand in that orther( from left to right : moonbyul solar wheein hwasa )

This isn't even 1% of their whole discography. Mamamoo has over 300 songs, and all different genres.
Mama, mama, moooooo.Raw version accidently uploaded was still WOW!!! Seeing them in concert was amazing. True vocal queens.. Love these women. Along with EXO they have some of the best vocals from 3rd gen. Cannot wait to see more reactions.

Yeah this killing voice video is a great way to experience mamamoo. They really are up with the best of the best for vocal talent and that was actually live. Yes there is a backing track but it is live, if you listen close you can hear one or two flat notes. There is an unedited video of this Dingo released. Editing was just correcting sound issues not their voices. Consider as well they sang straight through for 15 minutes without a break and sounded as good at the end. I have only seen one other the Big Mama killing voice, who are older, late 40s and were a generation 1 singing group in korea, sort of setting the stage for a 4 girl korean group focused on extreme vocal talent over looking pretty. Slack jawed in amazement is about the most common reaction to this mamamoo video.
Never scared to say it mamamoo gathered the best vocalists out there in one group and made it perfect. Some of best vocals in the kpop industry

Roscoe, a lot of their earlier music in particular is jazz or can I say "musicals" influenced. Their mvs often challenge stereotypes but I particularly love "Wind flower" for its Hong Kong setting and vivid colours. BTOB's recent Killing Voice is fantastic and in similar "showcasing" vein; I think you'd enjoy it.
Moomoos assemble - I love this reaction! You should watch the kpop girl group competition Queendom where they slayed!
Oh yeah, and Moonbuyl was in a singing competition with rappers - The Second World - and won bc yes, she's that good.
Moon Byul is actually a vocalist.
Interestingly, Solar taught Moon Byul how to rap. He needed someone to rap in the group, so he was in charge of rapping.

Yes, Mamamoo will make you feel some things. You can rewatch this a thousand times and keep picking up on new details to enjoy. The harmonies and ridiculously flawless timing given how playful they are is just insane. They are truly masters of their craft.

Solar did a swap songs with Moonbyul in a video and now in their tour they all 4 swap their solo songs to sing live and it's the most amazing, sweet thing ever. Or sing them as OT4.

You really need to listen to 1cm. It's all four of them trashing on each other about who is shorter. The song was written by the three taller ones about the shortest.
