What could they do??? They can’t arrest someone because somebody says they need help! The police talked to her and she didn’t say any kind of stuff Charles told them so it SEEMED she was just in a domestic dispute with her ex. The problem isn’t the police it’s the system and people who fight for people with mental health issues to have rights and it’s a blanket coverage so people who have psychotic delusions and make threats a lot of times they still get let go and are just put on medication while they’re threatening family and are not mentally stable to be on the street but the police cannot do anything about it unless there’s clearcut evidence and they physically see something being done. it can’t be A. he said she said type of situation which is too bad because Charles did need help but it’s not the fault of the police.
Poor Charles contacted police, who did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. This cannot be over emphasized.
And the church leader who he thought would back him up threw him under the bus. Charles must have been so frustrated

The police did what they could and recommended a mental health exam but he should have hired a lawyer and sued for custody and contacted children’s services. The police were not the answer.

In Lori's case there was some type of error that occurred to where it made it not possible for her to receive the Death Penalty. But Chad is facing the Death Penalty.

He was unable to talk to his sister on the phone for months but started receiving a steady flow of thousands of dollars from her Venmo from the day we now know she was murdered and then didn't raise hell to make contact.

This case has been so sad from the beginning. All over Cult behavior from very unstable people. The children and any normal sane adult did not have a chance. Kay and Larry really tried to keep their relationship with JJ going to no avail. Their heartbreak is tremendous. Their strength to be admired.

Lori is an absolute monster for laughing at Colby while they were on the phone and he was confronting her for murdering his siblings. My heart breaks for poor Colby, it had to be so difficult and traumatic for him to lose everyone in his immediate family because his mother chose to murder them. Lori is a heartless monster and I hope that she is miserable every day for the rest of her life.

The city and the police department that Charles called is heavily Mormon so he got nowhere with them because nothing he said was something they hadn’t heard before. These fringe Mormon groups were very active in that area. When he mentioned the death threat though, that should’ve elevated it to another level. Heartbreaking they didn’t pay closer attention to his warnings

Until then I think Potato Head actually thought they were going to get away with this. Especially knowing how Lori had so easily gotten rid of Joe and Charles. And his own wife was still not cold in the grave. Until this time he thought all his stupid dreams had come true.

This is an awful case - this is the ultimate betrayal of a mother and her children deserved a mother who put them first. I feel the Morman Church need to find away to protect their members, especially children, from abuse and unsavoury personality types because ‘benefit of doubt’ isn’t working.

💩 Gabe Bonilla, LDS stake president, ear witness of Lori saying crazy stuff to Charles, was present when Charles was reporting her to Gilbert PD but kept his mouth shut leaving his claims completely unsupported.
💩 Adam Cox, Lori's brother: pretends he's on Charles' side, takes advantage of him to get a free flight to AZ on the pretence he was going to contact another stake president and help organize an intervention for Lori. Ditches him and goes to hang out with his sister Summer, play basketball with his son Zac and visit friends instead of doing what he had promised to do. After the murder, he hides under a rock and NEVER volunteers to contact Chandler PD with everything he knew. THEY track him down a month later after HIS WIFE had contacted them.
💩 Summer Shifflet, Lori's sister: Knew all about "Lori's mission" and how she "had help from the other side" and cheered her on.
💩 Gilbert PD, AZ: Police officer ON BODYCAM advising Lori how to evade being taken by the police to Community Bridges for a court-mandated 72 hour evaluation.
💩 Community Bridges: they let Lori go after a couple of hours' (NOT 72 as the court had mandated) psych eval
💩Chandler PD, AZ: Botched Charles Vallow's murder investigation. They shoved all the HARD evidence under the rug and never made an arrest for what was a clear-cut murder case. Lori and Alex were free to kill 3 more people.
💩Melanie Gibb, Audrey Barratiero, Zulema Pastenes, David Warwick: All 4 knew what happened to zombies and they all kept their mouths shut and supported Lori and Chad. Gibb even said about Charles' murder :"They had been planning it for months and months and months".
They ALL have blood on their hands. Lori, Chad and Alex could have been stopped at least after Charles was murdered but noone lifted a finger.

It might have to do with the fact that the decision was made by a coroner and not a medical examiner. In order to be eligible to run for coroner in Idaho all you need is to be at least 21 years old, a citizen of the United States and a resident of the specific county for one year. If you win the election, you must complete annually at least eight hours of training. So yeah.... not surprised. Also, it is highly likely they were LDS which might have played a part in their not suspecting such an "upstanding" LDS author like Chad 🤢
Yes, my husband died suddenly of a heart attacked and an autopsy was required because he was so young and his death so sudden when he was apparently fit and healthy. This NZ though.

The police saw a good looking blonde and ignored Charles, didn’t take him seriously at all. I hope this case is used to properly train law enforcement. Charles told the police that Lori said that she could murder him. The police failed Charles dreadfully. Had they properly investigated Charles’ death maybe the kids would still be alive. Also if Chad didn’t rate the kids as zombies they’d still be alive. This case is so bizarre. How about Lori’s niece, why hasn’t she been charged. If she didn’t say anything negative about Brendon there wouldn’t have been a hit out on him. I know you need evidence but, come on, Melanie, the niece, lived right next door to Lori, can’t they charge Melanie with conspiracy, I don’t know, but I really feel for JJ’s grandparents and Tylee f JJ’s brother, he lost his whole family.

She's not eligible for the death penalty in AZ as she's only charged with conspiracy to commit the murders, that's 25 to life. Also, I think (not sure 100%) that she has to serve her sentence in Idaho first and then (in a future probation 😆) be taken to AZ to serve the next sentence.
