  • Along the banks of the Hudson, NY, lived Peggy Nadell. Activist, family woman, and when she was discovered at the bottom of the stairs, he daughter thought the victim of a horrible accident. Did I mention she was rich? And that accident happened to lead to her having a knife in her chest.

      She seemed like a lovely person and if Diana needed money, she probably would've given it to her. I feel really sorry for Peggy's son. He's not only going to feel guilty because it was his wife, but he has to explain to their children how mommy killed the grandma who doted on them just for money.

    She was my next door neighbor growing up, I used to do yard work every single week for her and she gave me milk chocolate from her fridge. Such a fragile sweet lovely lady. I remember the exact day when 2 officers knocked on our door and told me and my siblings to go into another room, shortly after my mom came in the room crying and told us Peggy is dead. I was 9 and remember it like it was yesterday. She named her cat and security passcode which I now know from the dateline episode after me. May her soul Rest In Peace.

This was @ 1870-71...she brought home a long-haired gray cat for us and said, "His name's Xerox!" "Zeerocks...but *why?"* I inquired. "Because he's a *copy cat!" Mom gleefully replied. Even a bit of levity by making fun of himself or the asshole murderer(s),
      doesn't detract from the seriousness of the stories but instead, helps us not get so emotionally pulled down by what's happening/happened, that we can't bear another story from him.

    • @karaamundson3964

      No doubt bc Mike a) keeps his content perfectly researched & presented, b) refrains from scenes of blood & gore, no matter how authentic, and always, ALWAYS c) cuts to comedy when things are getting tense--not silly comedy but ways of lightening up the tale (life insurance dance, cat appearances, "and a TURD victim under a tree" types of tomfoolery) that tie bits of the story together. It's all a perfect balance, less than 30 minutes with a great soundtrack, authentic police & court cuts, the iconic shirts (though I must admit I dig the hell out of the green Irish sweater), the Vanishing Host--I was completely drawn in by this on my first vid--the descriptions of the locales...
      I like other content--Mr. Ballen, CoffeeHouse--but nothing comes close and Mike's numbers reveal that grillions of people feel the same way.
      {{I grew up in a miniature town in the CA Mojave Desert. The Navy had a huge footprint there (largest landholdings, bigger than NM) for flight, test, & development.
      Anyway, most of the families were drawn from PhD or at least MS degrees in physics, chemistry, math, engineering & so forth, women and men, and the overall IQ was pretty high.
      There were exceptions, mostly drawn from the town built around the Base--ordinary skilled workers who built apartment buildings, fixed cars, operated restaurants, barbers & hair stylists, kept shops & grocery stores, & so on. They were no dummies for sure--they were specialists just like the people designing jets and rockets.
      Well, a woman our family was familiar with was in an unhappy relationship. She had just separated from the guy and was getting her hair done to celebrate so she & the man she was newly in love with could go out to dinner. suddenly the door burst in and Mr. Wrong burst in, handgun at the ready, and shot her to death at close range.
      Our town had very few murders and VERY few public revenge murders. I can't seem to dig up any information. it happened sometime between late 1978 and anytime in '80 or 81.
      I'd sure love to get someone on YT to cover this case!}}

    I would almost guarantee that if Diana had gotten away with killing her mother-in-law, her next victim would have been her husband. I say this because the inheritance money wouldn't have been given to HER, it would have been in her husband's name (as, he was her son). So, she probably would have then killed him so all that money would transfer over to her (and the kids).
    She so easily murdered her husband's mother, then even tried to have someone else killed while she was awaiting trial. So, imo... She would likely have no problem killing anyone who was standing in her way of that inheritance money.

      While I agree that she was clearly confused by the scene she found -- if one finds a loved one with head trauma and a knife sticking out of their chest, it's probably best to assume foul play and let the detectives go from there -- and if it was some sort of tragic accident, allow them to figure that out through their investigation. I feel like automatically assuming it was an accident can only work in a potential perpetrator's favor. Thankfully, in this instance, the investigators did a great job (unlike many other cases we see on this channel) and were able to unravel what really happened and serve proper justice. My sincere condolences to Suzanne and Bobby, as well as the rest of Peggy's family and loved ones.

As paper thin as that sadly really is despite the tech is to finding said people that do it.. More so when you consider the amount of unsolved killings that exist.
