I mean, technically, if you are talking about a girl v. guy version, the original was written as 2 variants, with one for girls to sing and one for guys to sing.
@@nlhn638 well the Chordettes version is the most famous(the one im using as the basis) and that's the one in question used for covers in which they sing about wanting a man. I just appreciate when the lyrics in songs arent changed bcuz they just sound off when they do. For example, Michael Bublés cover of Santa Baby, he changed the lyrics to make it not sound gay. It sounds awful and if anything, if would've been less gay if he had left the lyrics the same 😅

The Chordettes only covered it.
Therefore, using the male version or the female version isn't changing the lyrics.
@@nlhn638 Youre not understanding what im saying. The version that I, and most people, know, is the chordettes version where they want a man. Thats the only version i know so hearing it changed makes it sound off. Im not saying that theres only one version and thats the final one, just the one that everyone knows so hearing it sung with the same lyrics ive always heard it sung with is nice. Kudos to the song having multiple versions but i only know the one so thats what my comment is based on.
