Them being linked in any way to Metaverse is an immediate no to me, whether they are involved with NFTs or not. We have to burn that concept to the ground. It's bizzarre to me how positive the doll community is about these overall, especially the people who make a stink when some toy packaging is not environmentally friendly enough when these might be potentially linked to one of the most environmentally dangerous schemes. Also they're just... ugly. They feel like a toy for 6 year olds but are obviously marketed for older girls...
Im personally not shocked, i had some expirences with white doll cellactors who would just straight out speak over poc, them supporting these dolls is no shock to me :/
And honestly i agree like who thought making roblox into a fashion doll is a good idea?? If i wanted a mini me i could just costimuize a loved old momster high doll(or any other doll really) its better envirmantly and looks better

For context, yes they were supposed to be on Roblox with it's own game. But I'm going to assume they changed the game to be on the website instead, because Roblox hit WooWee with a lawsuit over taking the design of the "Women Bundle" package & associating themselves with the Roblox brand. I've played the Avastar Roblox game, and it was just a generic roleplay dress up game with a 55% like/dislike ratio. Nothing new.
Edit: Also, sorry but they can't really call themselves the first doll brand to be part of the metaverse, when their marketing launch was a flop (lawsuit) and all they have to give is a crappy "flash-esq" game on a website with zero gameplay. I've seen them slowly turn up on store shelves, but barely given shelf space so I don't expect them to last very long in the toy aisle. Given the toy size and how much it turns collectors off, it goes to show how little the creators actually understand about what the market currently wants or needs.

I was waiting to see or hear someone mention Roblox cuz this concept is not revolutionary to me. It's a giant Lego which has been a thing for a rly long time. This just seems like something for really young kids or a partnership deal with Roblox(which is what I originally thought).. I feel like there shouldn't be a "gateway" for children to learn about the metaverse.. I don't get why it's important I guess

I haven’t seen any non-sponsored reviews of these mentioning the negatives of the sticker faces and pieces, they’re gonna get lost/ lose stick with heavy play! Hopefully they’ll sell refill packs or just more clothes. They totally could’ve been articulated as well! I think the Roblox style is popular with kids but ultimately not super nice looking.
I agree the whole video was super positive even about some of the controversy like the link to Metaverse and NFTs that was just glossed over. You can see on Claudeenas doll the sticker on her arms is already falling off. It seems like a one-time play thing.

they look like a mixture of roblox toys and polly pocket (2010s polly) i like the idea that ppl can make their game dolls irl and how changeable they are but the nfts and the whole 'metaverse' thing leaves a bad taste in my mouth...

Okay there's no way reception has been as positive as you make it seem. These are honestly mid as dolls but cute if they were actually licensed by roblox- which they arent. This is a blatant rip off of roblox with faces ripped straight out of a dress up game from it. Also nft's arent the only charged word. The metaverse in general is a sinking ship. I really cannot see this doll line going very long and I'm confused as to why doll influencers are promoting it so hard. None of this is a criticism against any of these influencers but this brand honestly feels like a sham. Just partner with roblox and ditch the metaverse bs and this would have been so much better...

The concept is interesting, but I don't think we need to introduce the kids to the metaverse at such an early age when their grasp on the real world isn't even that firm yet. Also, they're just ugly. They need to change the target audience to older collectors and maybe teens and rethink the design. A chunk of plastic is neither pleasing to the earth nor our eyes.

Kids may like them, but it's a no for me. And the moment I heard NFTs it was an even bigger turn off. I'm still giving the video a like cause I probably wouldn't have heard of this otherwise so there's that
I like the idea of these dolls (mix and matching accessories, stickers, hair with changeable fringe…) but I really dislike their body and face shape. It gives Roblox/oddly large Lego ripoff. I feel like Capsule Chix had a similar concept, and although they weren’t perfect, they were much more aesthetically appealing (because they aren’t blocky).
Also, I just dislike all dolls that are meant to represent humans, but don’t have noses. I just find it creepy.
They ARE a Roblox ripoff, funnily enough.

pretty much what they reminded me.
BUT What's her face allowed you to draw the doll's face with a pen and making her a little bit more customizable, and the hair was brushable.
Already not enjoying the idea they're including NFTs in the future, it will kill the line in my opinion(I hope they don't do that).

I never owned one but these remind me a lot of What's Her Face - I'm personally not a fan of the super blocky style and bringing the Metaverse and potentially NFTs into it is a really put-off as well, but I remember wanting a WHF doll SO BAD as a kid (I spent SO MUCH time on the website lmao) and love the idea of customisable dolls

Biggest issue is, they look too much like the female Roblox avatar, and it might be a legal issue if they looks so much like the game but not associated with Roblox themselves. Because it's considered copyright, especially how similar the doll is too the female avatar? Especially in their own game? It's looks like a rip off.
Don't get me wrong the idea is nice but looking so much like a character that's been around for years doesn't seem like a good move, especially if Roblox sues for copyright infringement.

I'm sorry but those dolls from a design standpoint are horrible, lackluster, and not pleasant to look at. And I don't know why, but this video seems HEAVILY biased due to it being an ad and takes away your credibility on the aspect of this brand. Normally, you include both sides to the story and both the positive and negative comments, so when you just include a quote "these look fun" it feels really artificial.

I really don't see these dolls getting popular on one bassist, ROBLOX. They look like the Roblox avatars, and the faces are straight up ripped from Roblox (Just check royal high). However, I'm in love with gender neutral base. Also why is the doll connected to an app from toys that have done that in the past don't do well. Now I am excited to see how they do this line, but I'm not convinced. Also, these are definitely NFT's, and it being intertwined with the metaverse just seems like a mistake waiting to happen. Its already memed the hell out off. Finally, I see these dolls being discontinued soon due to Roblox catching wind. That is my opinion also please tell me if it's a collaboration with Roblox because it isn't implied.

The game seems pointless for kids - why would they want to spent time customizing their dolls on the website, when they can do it right on the dolls, interacting with them and having fun with touching different surfaces?
The idea of making face by using stickers is rather a risky move because of their not so long lasting.

Can people stop saying "metaverse"?! You mean VIRTUAL! The word you are looking for is "virtual". The only reason the word "metaverse" is used all the time is because it's a stupid buzzword that FACEBOOK of all things made. Facebook failed majorly with their "metaverse" concept as well. No average person even uses the word "metaverse", you're more likely to see "virtual" and "online". It's all big companies trying to assume what the average person wants/thinks. It's cringe.
Also, I like the look of these dolls, I really do. The customization for the face is cute, and the clothes look fun to play with. However, the obvious tie to roblox is too obvious. When I first saw these online, I thought they were a roblox toy! And judging by the comments, they were. Not to mention, your last minute edits to your audio to correct things really drills it in. It's a no from me at this point. Maybe when they go on clearance, because you can tell they won't last long
