I was a Brit volunteer in Yugoslavia in 93, flew into Croatia with a couple of mates got kitted out and infiltrated across the border into Bosnia, it was a shit show, atrocities everywhere we went, couldn't really trust anyone, lost a mate and after nearly 4 months on or near the front lines, trench systems in the hills, the rest of us got out because Bosnian's were shooting foreign fighters then joining Serbs rather than dying themselves, it was a real shit show but an experience.

I think that a lot of those who prep. seem to set up scenarios in their minds, prep. for that and then assume that others who don't think or do the same are wrong or fools.
During the Great Depression some wildlife was wiped out in the bush as people hunted more and there's more people and less critters around now if the same thing happens.
Same with fishing. I have a lot of gear and have done a bit of it but I doubt I could reliably get a feed even if I could get to fishing areas with everyone else.
I used to chat on this platform with a guy from Australia who was continually complaining about the place and had moved to a European country, married, built a house etc and was telling others to do the same and how good it all was.
He had to come back here to work very hard for a part of the year to pay for it all but that point seemed to elude him.
It was all great until it wasn't.
    He moved to Ukraine.............
I haven't seen or heard from him for quite a while now.

Im not sure whether to get this book or just take your words as confirmation as to what I truly believe it will be like. Ive been on other pods and groups where sadly people have a very romantic vision of how things might be, and this news will shock them. For me its different as I used to have a job that involved violence and brutality every week, almost every day sometimes, so whatever is coming will probably not shock me as much as it will others. But like Ive said here before, Im disabled now and fully expect to be identified on a computer somewhere (government benefits will identify us) and taken away to some form of camp somewhere. Its the time leading up to that, that counts. I might still get the book.

I remember when Selco first hit the scene, his very name is banned from one US forum after someone did some digging on him.
I was in the army 94-97, my unit spent some time over there, lost a friend when his vehicle left the road.
I've heard different opinions on the book, I'd grab a cheap secondhand copy if i saw one but wouldn't go out of my way.
I've been around long enough to keep my plans fluid and be sceptical of everyone.

Yeah I get you 👍For me it's more the let's say moral of the story ,rather than the person I know a guy I'm in constant contact with from Serbia and the reality of urban survival would definitely be closer to this book than the romantic bushcraft prepper ideology
Most of us live in urban areas and if shtf goes down for any reason most of us would be stuck in our local areas
