- Happy holidays! Here is a fun FPV run with my tank. This rc got me back into the hobby a few years ago, we've had a bit of a journey since then. I don't drive it much now, but every winter I can't help take it out as it always impresses me in the snow.
If you think a 6x6 has lots of wheels consider that the tracks on the Leopard are rolling on 14! That is seven wheels per side carrying this machine and it makes for a lot of ground contact. With the smooth tub chassis it can handle some deep powdery snow quite well. Still it was no match for the forty cm's accumulation here, so I groomed a circuit in the backyard. Pro tip for running rc's in the winter: let them get cold before running and way less snow will stick to it 👍
Tanks are a completely different driving experience to cars. Its similar to a crawler in that you have to strategize routes and lines through the terrain but the capabilities and weaknesses of the vehicle are completely different.
Camera is an all in one 25mw wolfwhoop camera and vtx (this thing is tiny!). The tank is a heng long Leopard 2A6 with some minor mods and hacks. Total weight is about 12lbs, power is 9.6v nimh 4000mah. Running on Mato metal tracks with rubber pad and Taigen metal road wheels.

Gotta be really tricky with the undulations of the ground and grip? I thought mine was a bit like a rocking horse just when running over a powercord on the floor in the living room... 😅
