This is direct from the airunit sd card to youtube. Loving the audio, drive train sounds so good. Re-built, over-built!! Quick test run was looking really good on this machine. I added a plastic brace between the two side plates to fight off some of the side to side shake I was having. Also swapped in a larger roll motor on a super beefy 5cm wide 3mm thick mount, this also holds the storm32 board keeping the wire runs super short. The garden rally course is coming along pretty well. Just smoothing out rough spots and playing with the layout a little bit. TT02 is small enough to make the space feel pretty big. YO! Just wanted to share my run from today, excellent times, Slash 2wd running as well as ever. Always feel a bit more bold with this one as it flies pretty nice and bounces off things without breaking. like the title says this is stright dvr off my dji goggles, just cut out some of the boring stuff and added music. Good afternoon. I have this gimbal but haven't been able to get it to work properly a year ago. I have been following you for a long time and I console myself that I will still be able to launch it correctly. Tell me what software you are using. Firmware and program on PC. Do you have drawings of the fasteners you use in the video?

Can you list the FPV gear you used and if you recommend it?
@@pants7241 hmmm I don't know if I really recommend any of what I use. The fpv system is the dji v2 goggles and the original airunit with caddx camera. That stuff all works pretty good but you can't get it anymore. The real difference maker is the gimbal setup which I've mostly detailed here on my youtube. It uses a storm32 gimbal controller and this particular one is a two axis gimbal using a 2805 and a 2204 motor. So its all a bit complicated. Radio is radiolink rc6gs v2 I'm happy with that unit. Massive range! Other than the fpv setup the mojave is stock with some esc de-tuning (was running hot so I reduced the timing and punch) and a motor fan and mesh cover to keep dirt out. I did add the ebrake unit and a bit of diff tuning too. 🙃

Great video. Congratulations, you are a master. I am trying to make a RC mechanism to put a gimbal on top, specifically the Ronin RS 4. Because of its weight I know I will need to put big wheels. what is still not clear to me is which shock absorbers to put. Could you advise me ? Thank you very much and go ahead.
What did you do config wise to only do 2 axis gimbal? You just disable yaw in the software? I'd like to use the bigger motor as well for my roll axis, how did you map it to the software?
@@aviatoFPV to use the larger motor on the roll axis you'll need to retune the pid setting but nothing other than that, just plug it in inplace of the regular roll motor. Yaw is disabled in the software, I think thats on the gimbal setup tab.
@@JIPPERR_1 Thanks! I'll be trying it out by just copying the original big motor PID values to the roll channel when it is installed there. Do you know if I can damage the board when powering it on with one motor disconnected and it still being configured for 3 motors? Or in the case I have my config wrong and an empty channel is powered?
@@JIPPERR_1 what kind of pid values did you end up with? I'm trying to tune out the vibration it makes. It also heats up with my current pid's.
I'm really liking the idea of the steroscopic/3D camera view. That's not a common configuration. Is there currently an alternative brand/model to the SCAM302 for steroscopic/3D video? It appears that Skyzone has discontinued that part and they don't offer an alternative. The SKY02X is also discontinued, and and it appears that everything else they made is out of stock/out of production/sold out on their website. Are there any current offerings that provide suitable alternatives?
What kind of gimbal are you running here? Looks very steady! On Ali I can find some 2 axis gimbals but it seems they don't use the storm32 board. Should I buy a 3 axis one and remove an axis that isn't needed? I mainly want a rock steady DJI O3 feed in roll and pitch :D
@@MWLaboratories That's the dream for sure. This is a storm32 gimbal controller running a 2 axis gimbal. I custom built my own frame to suit the mojave. Running old school dji airunit with the caddx camera. I can't really comment on the new gimbals coming out from caddx and heq but storm32 is very versatile. Just has a steep learning curve.

Yup all this driving is in fpv. Nice if you got a crew to race with in fpv! These guys I'm with haven't come around yet. How did you get started with fpv cars? Hard to tell but I think it's getting more popular
@@JIPPERR_1 we would race whoops around the shop. I had a 1:16 scale cat and decided to put some cheap FPV gear on it and I took it to work. It worked really good and then my buddy bought a 1:10 scale, then I did the same. Now we have stupid fast 1:10 scale cars that we keep breaking lol.

No all the other guys are all line of sight. One guy has a sbr and might add some fpv gear to it. I was also beating them with my 2wd slash on 2s with fpv lol. Fpv is a big advantage where the sight lines are challenging, my lap is way shorter 👍

No need on this one. I'm running a two axis brushless gimbal here. I do use three axis sometimes and those have the ability to turn left and right. But they are slightly less reliable and more difficult to mount so for my fast cars I do it like this.

How is 6s in fpv? Too jittery possibly? I currently have a trx4 with a gimbal and o3 air. Kinda want more speed but not sure I will enjoy the visuals bouncing rapidly. Still doing my research for a smooth riding faster rc I can put my fpv setup on with a dedicated 3s for fans and o3.

I'd love to do this with my O3 cam. What kind of motors did you use? Can I get up and running with just buying the board and 2 motors like you did here? I could 3d print the mounting cage
3d printed frames will not holdup to the forces here. At least not that I've seen. Best to go with aluminum. More ways to do this wrong than do it right, steep learning curve for sure. Check out the 'rcfpv gimbal builders' group on facebook for more info. There are a few 3d print frame designs there. Also my lets build a gimbal series is worth a view 👍
03 runs hot as hell, i think most people using it on non-aircraft rc's have some type of cooling mods. 3d printed fan mount with a tiny fan, or at the very least make sure it's getting ample airflow

Quick question. The headtracker cable have 3 rings. tip, mid, and root. Do you know what they are? I guess they are PPM, V+, ground. The reason I asked because I have other headtracker with standard DCS cable they only have 2 ring, tip and root. Tip is for PPM and root is ground. And they don't work with RC6GS. Can you pleas let know the mid is V+ or voltage. Thanks! I tired so many times, and don't know why my setup can't work and found no documentation online about it.

You have the RadioLink I have. Have you thought of using their bracket and a small monitor for your no-DJI systems? I really don't like using goggles.
I often mount my phone there to record some video. I do have analog reciever for the phone and will use that with my crawler which can work out well. I'll drive line of sight then take it over a hill and fpv back to myself. Works well, I want to get a better monitor though. It's a good way to share the fpv drive with people too 👍
Jump to 1:34 for the fastest pass of the bunch. Out of tune gimbal can suffer lots of shake, this one seems good, mostly side to side shake which isn't controlled by this two axis gimbal. Might be some loose bearing etc in the gimbal motors.
