A unique voice, I agree, it is not the best singing voice ever but I believe that Bowie's writing and composing skills, combined with the feeling and emotion he infused his songs with made them sound really amazing.
The best artists are divisive, because art is subjective! Of course, Bowie's voice was not flawless, but neither were Lennon's, Jagger's, Wellers, Dylan's, Iggy's etc! That's the beauty of true art.... Unlike the utter shite coming out of the industry most of the time nowadays! There are some great character voices still though, listen to Tom Odell if you enjoy Bowie - he's got a bit of that uniqueness too, as does Jake Bugg
