Awesome Steve! So Cool!!!
Thank you Robbie. I still have a few record store tours from MI to show
Always appreciate your channel. I think of all the channels I have seen, I have purchased more albums from your needle drops than any others. So I dont know whether to thank you or curse you for that one. Funny about the mermaid statue. I worked in Copenhagen on a movie for about two months. Saw just about everything in that absolutely amazing place except for that statue. Glad I didn’t miss much. Thanks again for Sunday morning needle drops. Look forward to the next one. Take care.
I have the same issue with other channels with needle drops. It catches are attention and our ear. I love needle drops though to your point they can be expensive on our pocket book. Thank you for the nice comment and if your ever back in Copenhagen just say no to the Little Mermaid
Looks like a cool record store. You flipped past.a lot of records I would like to have. Wow you added some classic rock back into your collection! Awesome that you found the MoFi Aja. I would keep both copies of Boston. The blue one looks great. That album cover for The Good The Bad & The Ugly is different from the one I have. You're right - that is a great soundtrack. Rock on Steve!
The soundtrack cover the the Good and the Bad was a RSD thing. Like I needed a second copy but I wanted something real clean since I love that soundtrack. Yes I do add classic rock though I have most of what I feel I need already. Still you never know Randy what may grab your attention
Hi Steve,
Cool place. Awesome video
Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful day
I am still getting through my videos of records stores in MI. Someday I will visit one in CO when I’m not so darn busy
Cool store. I always enjoy seeing different shops, what they have to.offer.
This was a smaller one. I don’t find anything I needed but always enjoy browsing
Hey Steve. That record store looked amazing. They had some unique records.
It looks like you have a Friday Music version of Boston. I couldn't tell for sure. If so, keep it. The sound quality on that is wonderful. I think Kevin Gray mastered it. I love that Kansas album. Take care. 😀❤️
Hi Melinda, thanks for the info on Boston. I just ordered some more Ikea racks for my music room, they deliver! I am going to do a video next week on my thoughts of packing and moving records, what worked and did not work. I know a while back you said you would be moving to be by your daughter. Every day looking at the beach, that is my dream but in Puerto Rico, I really love that island. Too bad Patty doesn’t lol. Oh well , seeing my grandson all the time brings me incredible joy. On the other hand I’m working 7 days a week trying to learn and get the pool business ready for summer. It has been exhausting but not as stressful as corporate life was. At least not yet lol.
Kansas ar the crossroads 😊. I guess I went the other way 😁. It was the violin.
Great to see our newest entrepreneurs trying to succeed. Best of luck 🤞 to them.
The violin was cool and something different Between them and ELO trying to make the violin hip for the young generation Greg
Very nice selection of vintage records! I saw more than a few beauties. That Kiss Double Platinum looks pretty amazing. That Joe Cocker Live album is a winner too. Did you check for RL in the deadwax of the Zeppelin II? Electric Prunes! Nice! Nice copy of Cooper’s Pretties For You. Fantastic Boston find! Perfect record is right! I have the same Steely Dan and love it! It’s so nice on the ears. Great finds, Steve!
Prices were a little steep on some of it but it was a nice clean little store in a smaller town. I had been trying to get there for awhile Steve
Hey Steve! You are correct, the Boston album is perfect. Saw them on that tour in Chicago at a 2,000 seat venue, not long after the album had been released. 6 months later they came back and played to 18,000. You are also correct about the LM statue. We went there, and walked away thinking, this is where the phrase "There is something rotten in Denmark" was coined. Cheers!
lol LM. I kept telling my family, it’s not worth it everything I read said it ranks as one of the world’s greatest disappointments lol. But no, no one listened to me so we walked there so they could all be underwhelmed. Otherwise beautiful city. A young Boston, who would have thought they would have e blown up like they did. Very fun
Hi Steve - It's not a collection without the first Boston album & Aja in it. Enjoy the Nuggets playoffs ..World Champions ! Saw Slowdive Tuesday night. Good show.
David, I have yet to see a Nuggets game, I have been working too many hours, so much for an easy job
Thanks again for the record. It is a great one. REDD KROSS is coming to Detroit in July. I'm going.
Wow, Redd Kross would be great Martin. I am a recent convert to them
Hey Steve. Loved the music you played over the tour. Very nice soul and funk. Fantastic seeing the prices on those records. I’m going to feel so good when I pick up some of those high price items for cheap in my rummaging. Nice to see you replacing some classics lost in the flood. How’s the weather? I was in Denver a couple of years back in May and it was up in the high 80s. Hope setting up the new record room is going well. Cheers buddy.
Temperature gets up high during the day and then gets really cool at night, it is a yo yo Jack. The record store didn’t have a lot of close competition so you can do what you want to do. Nice layout and easy to shop.
Hello Steve; Underground Records located above ground at street level go figure? The store looked well stocked. Like the Kat cut out in the window, a cameo appearance. Some very good vinyl finds in the classic rock genre. Good video. Take care, Tina & Pat!~
Good point, an above underground lol. Sadly Kat disappeared this week, kind of like Dan Sullivan, kind of sad
Nice looking store Steve, Your bins are filling up nicely! 🤙🏻
Sadly, that was my old music room. I still have videos in the can from MI Anthony
@@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147
“Videos ready to launch!” 😜
Enjoy your weekend Steve! 👊🏻
Hey Steve! Alma Michigan never been there 😂 looks like a nice store . Your shirt reminds me of the Lollipop Shoppe album cover! Take care Brian ☮️
Alma is a nice town but not a lot of reason to visit. I thought it would be good to highlight them. I still have a few more MI stores to show in the coming weeks
Gidday Steve. What a fantastic looking record store, nice and clean. The record selections you showed looks good. Thanks.
Ken, a newer store in a small community. Makes sense to share the space with another business
Just bought pristine copy of that Bouys album for 5 bucks Canadian. Amazing that Crabby Appleton album is worth so much. It was a 2 buck album for decades. I think I probably have 3 or 4 copies and 2 or 3 copies of the second album (which is terrific). The three Illusion albums are definitely worth picking up. I have multiple copies of each. I think those records were a tad on the expensive side. I have a lot of the older records - Frost, Yellow Balloon, Peppermint Rainbow, Keith, etc.
Darrell, you would not have liked this store, prices were definitely higher than other places. That said it sounds like an intervention is in order with all these multiple copies of albums you own! Oh wonder why prices are jumping, your pulling them all out of circulation
Hi Unk. This is gonna sound a bit weird coming from me, but I've always liked Boston. Excellent vocals and really, really great guitars. Thanks and take care.
Whoa, se Oreo is safe with me nephew, but that was a hold onto you hat type moment lol. Perfect album for me Chris
Neat looking store. I know Alma from when I worked and lived in Mount Pleasant. Some of those record prices seemed kind of high.
Prices were high Richard. It’s a nice town. I went to the Highland Festival once and really enjoyed it, I just worked most Saturdays so I missed out.
Another great store Steve, you got my fingers twitching again 😂 You defo took the hallow path…B-52’s, TH. Those Steely Dan fellows are not my cup of tea….too jazzy for a simple lad like me 😁 Mike (wannabeSteve)
Wanna Be Steve, that was my problem with SD, too jazzy but once I got into some jazz, not all, I began to enjoy them. When you become an old fart like me you may like them Maybe jazz is not a Mike thing, that might be my issue breaking into the Mike Club?
That was a lot of Styx. Those half-speed masters are great. I still haven't gotten in to Steely Dan. Maybe someday.
Let’s say they just put everything out no matter how much they have of the same album. Smaller town, surprised they had a record store Bill
Interesting store! Some high prices though. Congratulations on your finds! Radio Wasteland comes to the rescue again. Actually, I walked to the Little Mermaid statue in the cold rain. It was the coldest summer since 1918 or something like that. Anyways, I enjoyed it. Maybe it was the atmosphere and such. I loved Copenhagen. Did you go to Christiania? Rosenberg Castle?
You like LM statue, it was just so small, lot of walking for that but I’m glad you enjoyed it. We only had 1 day in Copenhagen before we went to Oslo for a few days and then on to Sweden
I really liked those ties at 2:20. Gitchy.
Yeah they made some pretty cool things. Most of the images came off of the internet. Hmmm, maybe I should report them Bobby
@@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147 Steve the Stoolie... It has a certain ring to it... LOL
Hey Steve. Howzit? Enjoyed the crate digging. I really like Steely Dan and also Kansas.
But the piece de resistance? The Copenhagen t-shirt.
Greetings from Morten, hope everything is on track over there.
I was there with my family and parents the end of the 90s. We also went to Norway and Sweden, 2 week trip. It was a great time. I still fit into that shirt Morten!
@@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147 😊 Very cool!
Another nice record store. Prices looked a bit high to me? I thought it quite funny that a few records I thought I would take a look at you actually did, e.g Electric Prunes. Nice haul from Wasteland. I confess I'm not a great lover of Steely Dan. There's something about Fagin's voice I don't like. I am completely devoid of Kansas, but I often think I should investigate them more than I have. Cheers, Steve
Andy, so much music. Kansas was a really big band in the Midwest part of the US. It definitely is a favorite of prog lovers. I am always on the fence with them but the two albums I had when I was in college do bring me a ton of enjoyment. Good to know once in awhile I stop at a record other people want to see lol.
Nice store - I love the old store fronts. Really though, $45 for a Lemon Pipers album.I own one Boston album; guess which one? Nice half-speed master. Hold on to the Friday Music pressing. I've been on the hunt for a MoFi Aja. Do I need it though; my original sounds fantastic? Have a great weekend, SteveO
Prices were quite high Mark, I left with nothing I just try to highlight the smaller MI stores and hopefully create some attention for them. It’s my vinyl community duty to spread the love of records stores lol
Steve, gotta have the Boston. Brad Delp’s voice is excellent. Not a big Steely Dan fan. Greatest hits is good enough. Gotta have some Kansas. Peace ☮️ Namaste 🙏 the Zonkman
Steve you know I love me some Greatest Hits! I will buy more King Buffalo, that was excellent my friend
Hello Steve! I enjoyed every second of this visit at the record store and your report on it. I would have had such a hard time to choose what to buy given the vast array of quality albums there. But of course I would have picked up that Boston's half speed master! Wow!!! I see your point regarding the mismatch for your other copy. Cool blue vinyl though. And an Aja on MoFi, are you kidding me? LOL And you know how big a Kansas fan I am! By the way, any chance you participate in Robert's 2024 edition of the lotery? As of now, he's missing volunteers to make it happen. Anyway, peace and enjoy your new music! -Bernard
Bernard, I will let Bobby know. I have been overwhelmed with the move but yes I will. I just had to show you I also like Kansas. I did keep your drawing when I moved also, it still makes me smile Bernard.
@@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147 Awesome! 😎
Nice looking store. I didn't appreciate Steely Dan until I passed the age of 35 and was considering having children 🙂
I think I had to move into my 40s before Steely Dan clicked for me. Greatest Hits and I’m good to go for the most part Brian
I didn't appreciate them until I started studying jazz theory.
@@tomcarl8021 That would do it!
In school we learned not to read other peoples letter but here we do it all the time without thinking....
Like your conversation with Melinda Murphy, have you thought about it or am I just paranoid?
lol that’s funny Hasse. No I will finish life in CO and they can spread my ashes on a mountain top. Alas my dream of spending life by the beach is over Sigh
Alice Cooper From inside was that pricy!!?! And I'd like to get that. Well CD might be good enough for me...
I need to listen Kansas more someday. Now I have to focus couple days on Michael Monroe...
I really like AC From The Inside. Prices were high there, I didn’t buy anything Mr Finglish. Kansas is pretty good but I only need a couple albums from them. One of those Greatest Hits groups
@@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147 Yeah Kansas migth be to me also just Greatest hits album would be enough or getting Leftoverture.
Mike, Alma is the name of the cataloguing software we use in the library. Are you trying to scare all of your punk, psych & shoegaze records with that Boston & Steely Dan? 😂I don't have many soundtracks but would love a copy of Good, The Bad & The Not So Attractive. I think ugly has been cancelled. Cheers....Mike PS I love westerns too
Lmao, the Not So Attractive, two thumbs up for that one Mike. There are times we have to go back to our younger years and reclaim the music we heard. Let’s say my channel is not known for playing the ordinary ! I did tell you in college I worked all 4 years in the library. I love books so it was perfect for me. You must be the best dressed librarian Mike
Alma College is the alma mater of Bob Devaney.
No way, I had no idea about that. That is cool
I’m so confused. You’re in Michigan again. Just video dump all the remaining Michigan videos in one upload, Steve. You’re a Colorado man now! $60 for an Alice Cooper record?! Prices seemed steep in that store.
Hope all is well, man! Cheers ✌🏻
Prices were a little steep. I still got Michigan Record Store visits to show. It does help them get recognized in MI. Yeaterday i went to my first record store since i have been here. Working way too much for a guy who wanted to retire lol
