I drove myself there cuz of family needs, my heart was beating fast due to ( I thought) all the theophylline and albuterol, but they wouldn’t let me leave. I thought I was fine. I’d had bronchitis before a lot. But I had pneumonia sepsis at 35. I was in the ICU for 6 days. It gave me respect for doctors. I had that happen to me, sepsis, not PE. I went to ER ended up in ICU, intubated, had femoral line put in, and spent five days unconscious being given heavy antibiotics, fluids, pressors, and eventually lost my leg. I had a MRSA infection. I have lupus and that complicated matters due to my suppressed immune systems. However, it was due to excellent caring doctors, like you, that I survived. I will be forever grateful as I was only 36 at the time and had a five year old daughter. I would not say my health is great these days, but I’m alive. My daughter is 16 and I’ve been able to see her grow up. Thank you for all that you do for your patients. ❤️

I still get emotional hearing "code blue". Not that I remember anything from mine. I was an OHCA that needed CPR for 40 minutes, and then a helicopter ride to a level 1 trauma center. But during the following month I kept hearing them in the hospital and even the rehab hospital. It's weird the way the mind associates things after the fact, like code blue calls, ambulance sirens, and helicopters flying overhead when I wasn't even aware at the time.

Siobhan, I’m so genuinely proud of you, and I just wanted you to know that in many of your subscribers eyes, you are just an absolute rockstar and a huge inspiration!
It’s interesting going through your videos and watching vlogs from the different years of your residency! Honestly the reason I find it so cool to see is because you seem to have such a similar level of confidence AND similar range of knowledge throughout this entire experience, be it your 1st year or your 5th year in! Your progress has been such a joy to see even though you’ve been smart as hell from the start.
You are also compassionate and loving with great bedside manner, so props to you; some professionals (in my personal experience specifically in big city hospitals in CO) can be kinda cold and judgmental, especially to addicts and alcoholics in particular honestly, but NOT you, NOR your colleagues that you feature in! Love that they are also down to chat patient care in your videos, too! How nice!
Side note; but, I love how you tend to take the time to explain the medical situations and the state of your patients health in terms we can all understand, despite our ages or our backgrounds! XO keep it up girl! Also you and your husband are just ADORABLE! Much from form Denver, CO. XOXO.
