I wasn't dissapointed with Byleth, but I wasn't excited either. I was just confused. (I had nothing against the character, considering I had just started to play Three Houses prior to the reveal.)
Byleth was the only character in Fighters Pass 1 that I knew at the time of their reveal. (Didn't know the other 4 because I hadn't played their games yet.)

I was really excited about Byleth joining the fight and was really happy that a character that I wanted to join in despite that backlash and hate they had when it's was announced

In retrospect, Byleth probably wasn't the best way to end Wave 1. Thank goodness Wave 2 was announced the same day, or people would've been way more mad

Essentially the less hype trailer ever, even if you ignore the character the trailer was horrible
Horribly paced, essentially tries for a "bait-and.switch" only to immediately fail as everyone knows who the character is from second two and then wastes into going for the reveal despite everyone just wanting the gameplay to begin as the cutscene is boring, AND then wastes more time with Female Byleth when literally everyone watching was expecting her from the beginning
Using the Three Houses cutscenes and engine was such a big mistake

It seems perfect enough to me.
They outgoing sarcasm that they're using with this character is "Alright, we both know he's next so let's just get on with it". This is being shown by Byleth acting hesitantly and Sothis just shouting, "ALRIGHT! JUST JOIN *ALREADY". * They were never trying for a surprise but just a sarcastic way to do it since it's yet another FE character. What is going to be so surprising about a FE character joining Smash after all?
Using the dramatic 3 Houses cutscene and the goofy looking Engine adds to that. It seems like a well-thought out one to me.

Also, regarding the female Byleth case. Fem Byleth is most loved by many FE3Hs players so people obviously wanted her to be in the game. From the start, it seemed like only Male one will be in the game which you can see with many reactions. 6:15 This streamer from this video, for example.
It wasn't obvious that she was gonna be in the game, which is why they seemed to have focused on that aspect to show that "Yes, she is".

Considering that you were long overdue on showing people’s reactions to Byleth, do you think you might do some on the Vault Boy Mii costume, Mii Fighters Round 7 (the one with Bomberman), and even the poor Geno Mii costume deconfirm when Sephiroth was announced and added to the game (would like to see PapaGenos reaction there too).

Byleth was the final fighter In Fighters Pass Vol 1, I’m fairly certain that he wanted to do people’s reactions on it so he could have all of the Smash DLC fighters there.
