For those of you complaining about stage presence, or anything else about this video for that matter- congratulations, you've been reprogrammed! After DH wrote those songs, on two albums, and sang like that with Stewart and Stanley you focus on her dancing ability and camera presence. The music is enough, no matter what you think or say. WAKE UP!
By the way, Stanley Clarke - the bass player to the right of the stage, which the camera never focuses on - is one of the 3 founders of this awesome band.
I bought both of their albums when each was released and still enjoy them often. Deborah's voice is emotional and powerful and reminds me of Patty Loveless.
I'm crying tears of joy and sadness because of how cool and innocent this was in 89. Now this live playing is commonplace in 2021! There was this and Sunday Night music with Sanborn and Holland. Lots so so live bands today but back then this was unique and fresh. With Nile this is just banging.
In my opinion, this was just a musical "one night stand", for that all musicians did their best and (I hope so!) had a lot of fun. After all these years still a very nice recording!
Granstar Custom in Heather Metallic TAMA amazing songs amazing drum breaks why can't he reunite RUSH HOUR and get Andy back in the fold before it's too late...cmon guys
Waoo I remember that , before was much better, better music! i love it, so much!! VH1 you can,t see nothing those day like that , no real music on TV ,
She wrote the songs and lyrics and has a powerful voice for such a tiny person. However, she had no chance against Stanley and Stewart! Come on, gonna find a better rhythm section anywhere? I admit AL is not one of my favorite Copeland projects.
+feistybastard she actually reminds of a girl who was my neighbour !! she doesn't have the conventional rock persona but she's very beautiful and has a wonderful voice so no complaints here !!
+pvtrichter88 Agree. She has a nice voice. She just looked like a wedding singer playing with one of the best drummers of all time. I met the entire band after one of their first NYC shows. She was very friendly and down to earth.
Her voice outweighs all of that "lack of presence" If they had more success, WHO knows? She could have taken hip hop dance lessons and wore sexier nineties clothes! Animal Logic was the best.

Chris Nicolo I’ve couldn’t have written it any better.
Spot on! When the music and musicianship is there you don't need 32 backing tracks of production a dance troop and pornstar looks ;-)

Curiously, a bass player NEVER gets camera time
This band has no weak points. Amazing band!

Deborah Holland - vocals
Lamya Al-Mughieri - vocals
Nile Rodgers - guitar
Al Berry - bass
Stewart Copeland - drums
Richard Hilton - keyboards
Stanley Clarke-bass.
@@rapidfirerob4 no sir. that's al berry. trust me, i was there, playing with him. stanley was unavailable for this performance.
@@hiltonius What TV show was this aired on?
She is a great singer. And I Love Stews druming.. never to loud for me.
once again, they are/were a good band.. great singer and bass player with a excellent drummer.
Been listening to this album all day today.
LOVE this group. Great song, too.
Stewart Copeland is wearing merch! It's just heart warming.
0:51 = poor Steward, even with gloves, sticks fly away. Nice recovery.
Soooo good!!!!

Love this.
Stewart Copeland 1 of the best drummer s out there ever.
Imagine if they played this in clubs today?
Wow..! At the end of the video. It is rare to see Mr.Rodgers plays Telecaster with Floyd Rose (but no tremolo bar attached though..)
loved this album but now that I see it, I am concerned. I really wanted them to have huge success. Overall 4/5. sorry Deb, you're with the big boys!
Rick Brummell I’m sorry, I disagree. DH wrote and sang on both albums. She’s paid her dues. She is in a league of her own.

Kool!
Killer!
The back up singer is so stunning she’s steals the show
Super
Stuart seemed angry.
Videos like this prove to me that while the band is top-notch, they're not a camera-friendly group (just like my fav group of all time, Steely Dan)
Who is playing guitar? It looks like Nile Rodgers...
Dr. Crusher.
Who’s that guy on the drums 😂
Least looking rock singer ever but I do love her voice.

Against?
So you manage to get Stanley Clarke on bass and then put someone's mum on vocals.
The singer wrote ALL the songs!
And she's good too. Check out the album tracks on YT.
Good album, but Deborah has zero presence.

feistybastard her real talent is the fact that she wrote every song on this fantastic album!
Her voice outweighs all of that "lack of presence" If they had more success, WHO knows? She could have taken hip hop dance lessons and wore sexier nineties clothes!
Animal Logic was the best.
But...she's...a...ginger...
a "good" band....yeah, they managed to play in tune.... clueless...
Good song, good band. Drums well played but too loud - typical of that period..
Stewart Copeland can do what he likes
Not a very good song, and her voice really can't handle it.
