As a nail artist, if a nail tech cuts you NEVER GO BACK, it's vital to your health to not cut you. People die, get fingers or toes amputated, or have nails permanently fall off.

My last experience getting my nails done was actually painful...the lady was using one of those machines directly on the cuticle to cut it and was doing it so rough I was bleeding. If anyone knows any good salons or nail techs in Vancouver, please lemme know lol.

My family lost our dog of 12 years last year and the pain of her loss was so overwhelming that it became hard to focus on anything else. Because of this, within a month or so of her death, we got a puppy. We didn’t do this to replace her but because it shifted our focus and made our household a lot happier again watching all of the puppies firsts. I think getting a puppy is great and no one should make you feel shame for doing what makes you and your family happy
My father in law swears everytime he loses his golden that he will never get a dog again simply because of the heartbreak. This year he lost his angel of a dog, the first woman dog he ever got, very suddenly at only 6. He was devastated and said the same thing, but about a month and a half later my partner found a golden puppy on Kijiji needing to be rehomed and he went from “I can’t” to “I can go see him tomorrow after 4” to “let’s go right now” all within one phone call. Funnily, Little guy’s name is Theo (teddy) and while he was way more hyper an misbehaved than we could’ve imagined he’s a funny disproportioned lanky sweetheart and is now in a home where he’s loved and treated like a king. Like you said, it’s not about replacing but sometimes the focus needs to be shifted and just because you lose an animal you love doesn’t mean you stop loving them or needing to connect to an animal. Plus all dogs deserve a good home

Personally I never understood the hype. But the Rich Lux soundbites had so much more lore behind it. When my cat was a kitten, during a play session, he bit me and his little milk fang broke off on my finger. I kept it and looking at it now, even though id cleaned it when it first fell out, theres definitely enough organic material remaining for at least testing, maybe cloning and this was 5 years ago.
