Many people have been praising Fidias for this challenge, and I have no problem with Fidias doing this stunt as he did it willingly. However, what I do have a problem with is the way the cornsnake was kept during this challenge. First, the enclosure that the snake was kept in was orders of magnitude too small. Most reptile keepers would agree that a snake's enclosure's width and length should add up to be either the same size as the length of the snake or bigger. In the video, it seems the entire perimeter is the length of the snake. Another glaring issue is the heating situation; corn snakes require a gradient of heating due to being cold-blooded animals. If you are unfamiliar with the way it works, they have to move to either colder or warmer places to regulate their body temperatures. The way this is done is to give a hot spot (for corn-snakes it should be kept around 90 degrees Fahrenheit) and a cool zone (75 degrees Fahrenheit). Not only do I not see any heating given to the cornsnake so that it could have a basking spot, but if you did give heating, the tank is so small that the entire thing would be too warm. Fidias chose to undertake this challenge and be subjected to uncomfortable circumstances. The snake did not. 10 days is a LONG time and very impressive and cool. But jimmy did it underground where he actually had to be dug far deep to actually get him out unlike a hole where someone can drop food in there.
