Our journey begins as we bid farewell to the luxurious Skårungen Hotel, setting off on our bikes for an unforgettable ride to the charming village of Henningsvær. Once we arrive in Henningsvær, we take to the skies with our drone, capturing mesmerizing footage of the picturesque Henningsvær Stadium from above. The combination of the natural beauty of the stadium and the surrounding landscape creates a truly remarkable sight that will leave you in awe.
From there, we continue our journey along the Lofoten Islands, making our way to the iconic Bleik Beach. The birds you saw, the grouse were probably Ptarmigan and the big hawk was probably a Sea Eagle. The first time I ever saw a Sea Eagle was just south of Bodø and they are MASSIVE.

Lovely episode, imagine what it would have been like if the sun was out! Lofoten is pronounced L-ooh (as in "ooh-lala")-f-ooh (Ooh-lala again)-ten. Don't worry about it though, as a half-brit myself, your way is cosy! Andøya has been used for military/civilian rocketry for many years. See you in the next one!

That's a good way to remember it! i think we had never heard it pronounced correctly so didn't think about it lol 😁. We had no idea about the rockets being there! @@SeanandEmily I think I have watched all the episodes and enjoyed it very much. I have lived several different places along the Norwegian coast since I was a kid, and although most of the roads are well known to me, the commentary lets me learn how it may appear trough the eyes of foreigners. 😀

Even with the grey skies, a spectacular place. My 10 days of riding in Norway was the same. Think I did it in July, most every day grey skies & some days light rain. I almost didn't go to Bergen because everyone along the way said it rains almost every day there. Took a chance, was the only place with sun & blue skies. Needless to say, I spent a few extra days there just enjoying the area & the sun.
Hi Bill, totally agree with you sometimes the mist adds to the atmosphere -that said some sun is always appreciated 😉. It's impossible to say when the weather is going to be good -you just have to go and hope for the best but prepare for the worse. We didn't make it to Bergen this time but glad you enjoyed it -must have been a very welcome couple of sunny days!

I can see other has mention the Vesterålen islands, and that is correct. Even more precisely; from here 12:10 and further north in this video you are driving Vesterålen. 😊

Well we do have room for a third person on that bike so no problems there 😄. You're correct, we are British but we live in Switzerland. We were having such a good time that we didn't really notice the weather until we made the videos, we did expect some rain so came prepared. The weather does get better from here on as we head further North.

Lofoten are all about fish 🫠 old ferry are made for ruff conditions👍
Those ferry's are so impressive -especially when you see all them swallow up the cars and trucks. It was actually a really cool ferry -the interior was original i think.
Just remember that all the electrical lines you see are there to keep the trolls out. Consider it a PSA :)

Hello! I think I have to update you a bit, Andenes, where you took the ferry from. Is in Vesterålen, not in Lofoten. When you came out of the Sørdal tunnel on the E10, you were in Vesterålen. But otherwise it is a pleasure to following your adventures.

@@SeanandEmily very true my friends. I'd wish to know the documents required for border crossing on a bike,, in various counties.
We live in the Schengen area and as such no documents are required (apart form being able to produce a driving license and vehicle registration docs if asked for by the police).

We drove to Lofoten islands in summer 2015 and had as bad luck with the weather like you but it was still a stunning trip! Some day I will drive there again and hope that we will have sunshine. That is probably the most beautiful area of the Nordics.

Yeah no matter the weather this place will always be special! (Would have been nice if it stopped raining at least for when we cooked outside 😂). Given me time we would love to do some of the hikes ti access the more remote areas of the islands.

@@SeanandEmily Many years ago I drove the same roads, but in the opposite direction. The only difference, I go to the southern part of Lofoten via the ferry connection Melbu-Fiskebøl.

Drone forbidden due to military activities!
Thank goodness we launched the drone where we did! As just around the corner it was banned....makes sense though 👍
it has more to do with people flying drones to film the launches and causing them to have to abort the launch because they get to close...... and Andøya Space port isnt Military..... its a commercial satellite lauch site
