I can’t understand why so many players are hating on this new system. You can get waaaay more gold and valuable rewards than before.
Because they now have to do the 3 tasks they get and actually play the game, rather than being able to cheese it by always picking the quickest and easiest options.
That said, i really enjoy the new system too and am happy there's weeklies too now.
@@gewreid5946 I am completely on board with the weeklies as well. They provide that influx of rewards a weekend warrior can claim, without needing to log in every day. A lot of companies dislike this concept, because they want players to play every available hour. This is much more consumer friendly.
@@gewreid5946agreed and Anet even made toggles for it to whatever content type(s) you prefer. All in all this expansions has actually been surprisingly really good.. I'm even loving the map designs!
Most salt is probably from people with multiple alt-accounts reaping the daily login rewards for passive gold income, and now no longer getting their passive free stuff on who knows how many accounts.
The problem isn't the rewards but the tasks that ask you to do BUGGED minidungeons. Like, seriously?

My biggest issue though with the Vault is the dailies they give. As a newer player who is PvE focused, but hasn't completed all the expansion stories yet (PoF almost done!) it's REALLY frustrating when I'm given dailies for zones I have no access to yet (SotO or other xpacs).
They need to curate what objectives are given out so that they're always achievable with the zones you have unlocked. Currently I have to turn off the PvE option so that I know I'll 100% be able to complete all my dailies.
Just chose pvp. Literally the easiest dailies. Especially if you do pvp anyway. You can do all daylies in one match usually and don't even have to win.
This is absolutely something they need to fix. I mean, I have all the expansions, but for those that don't, they should only include maps that each player can actually get to.
@@benjaminfast5496 They do give you dailies only for zones you could potentially get to afaik. However, if your account owns EoD for example, but you want to play the stories in order and are not there yet, then it still gives you EoD dailies.
I'd prefer they look at story completion for your dailies/weeklies. I'm working through Path of fire right now and getting later zones feels like I'm being punished for taking my time playing through the new zones 🙂
I also got a EoD weekly and I just finished season 4... But at least in the weeklies you get to choose wich ones you do

Thank you for this very useful video. I did not realise I would have to start spending it as soon as I reached 1300AA, and I wanted yo get a good overall all view of the things I could buy so I don't loose the chest I did and can't claim cause I maxed out my AA.
Also, mind blown by your system to save builds! I'm gonna start using that. So simple and yet I never thought of that.
Finally.. i've been waiting for a tr list like this for days.
Although i have figured out the most value items on my own, and my opinion pretty much aligns perfectly with yours so it's just a nice confirmation.

Love the wizard’s vault but the dailies are more into the newer contents. Yesterday no one could finish it because of bug. Hope they revert back to older maps as new maps just lack players at certain times
I keep seeing this being said. I wonder how true this is. My 3 friends and I have fully completed every daily with no trouble besides having to do the collection for the one mini dungeon.
Build Storage expansion doesn't belong in terrible tier, I would argue it belongs in bad tier. It's just the "I am lazy" tax, unlike the rest of the stuff in terrible tier which will not be useful under any circumstance. It's for people who refuse to use external tools while playing the game (though I suppose you could argue those people will likely not need them anyway).
Then again this could be copium because I got it.
The weird thing is putting build storage in terrible, and build template in must buy. The argument for build storage - that you can make your own build storage system - applies to build templates as well. What you're paying for in both cases is not having to go to an external build storage file as often. I think there's a big YMMV in what both are worth, but they should probably be in the same tier, or build storage might even be higher (more slots, more flexibility in what you use the slots for).

I really like this new system in concept. The pricing of some things are still questionable like the Revive Orb and the Lesser Essence of Gold; but otherwise I like what's available so far. The first thing I'll actually buy will be the griffon skin which I should be able to afford today. I managed to still get the Valdhertz Crypt daily done a few hours ago for the reset; I find it really concerning as someone who's fairly new to GW2's endgames that these dailies are having us do content that's been apparently bugged since the content was released (iirc there was an issue too the other day with the Spirit Vestibule mini-dungeon; I ended up not finishing that one).
I see some good potential with the Wizard's Vault system as a whole; so if anything hopefully the devs will be willing to go back and fix these issues with content they're more or less funneling us into for extra rewards.

I got the griffon and an asc armor chest so far. I've had 2 chances at the leggy starter kit but I'm not a fan of any of them and really don't feel like crafting to TP. If it's gen 1 only I might go for twilight if it comes up. Anyway great vid and I might start with some of the smaller gold ones you mentioned, ty!

Thanks Lara.. Excellent work. One thing that might be worth talking about - that all of these stay for the 3 months till the next expac and when that might be roughly.
Revive Orb for 95 Astral Acclaim is terrible in my opinion, but I also play a lot of instanced content where Revive Orbs do nothing anyways. It's also one of those items that is so rare you end up using it for when you really need it which becomes never.
it's not that useless actually, it can be clutch in some fractal scenarios wierdly enough.
I am not saying that it's good, but i think she put it in the perfect category.
it's bad, but those in the terrible category are strictly worse.

The Vault could do with some work for flexibility but the rewards are pretty good.
This system has been amazing for me! Got my warrior to 4/6 ascended pieces in 2 days with the new system and some strike currency from running the new strikes!
Since 1g bag are 6 Astral Acclaim and mystic coins are 9A, it's more valuable to get mystic coin if their price is above 1.5g (assuming you have the limited 1g bags and mystic coins left, of course)

I give the Vision Crystal buy if you really need to complete an achievement.
it would have been a pain to get since I didn't have a lvl 500 crafting proff at the time.
I was very lucky and got it from a gunk covered pellet opening.. Hehe..
I didn't have to use a chest of loyalty just for the vision crystal to complete the 'The Wayfarer's Henge' achievement.
I can see someone buying 1 vision crystal just to complete 'The Wayfarer's Henge' achievement. Everyone loved doing that one. >;D

Being a casual pve-only player who likes to change skins a lot, transmutations charges is a blessing. Wish it was unlimited though

oh wow i didnt realize the emote shows off your weapon, that is way cooler than i expected. aaaah since im not at soto yet (only into eod) n i didnt change my thing to exclude pvp so its been slow getting AA, so im way behind everyone but so excited to get more! the rewards are just so exciting (and even the bad rewards honestly made me laugh so hard, its like anet trolling us XD) and ive never been more excited to go do the stuff on the daily n weekly list. honest to god i scoffed at the vault when they announced it - i mean i thought its fine but i figured its not any diff than the old system BUT I AM WRONG it makes such a huge difference for me. for once im excited to check and get all evil cackle when i see the exclaimation mark. 😂😂😂

I believe you can use Upgrade Extractors to recover infusions from ascended gear.
My main has only reached level 80 recently, is doing the Personal Story, some of which requires specific masteries. So the Mastery Coffer is indeed amazing, if a bit random! Gave me a boost of a quarter of a level the other day!
I missed the release of the Wizards Vault so I have to be frugal with my acclaim but it's good to see that your must-buys are aligned with what I was thinking. Also I did not have a griffon skin and I bought the one in the vault. It's so good! :)

the build template expansion for characters is nice, but I just can't warrant buying one without an equipment template expansion to go with it, so it's a cheeky way for anet to drive a second purchase.
Don't buy transmutation charges! You get one from completing each capital city map on a new character which can be done in like 5 minutes, and you can just delete and remake the character!
At first with this system I wasn't a fan, but when I realized how great the rewards were and how I can pick and choose what I want I realized it is far superior to the old system. I guess my only gripe is that while you can pick what tasks you get as a category, I wouldn't mind also having the option to pick a few WvW tasks for example in addition to my pve. Without being locked into it for a week especially if those WvW tasks suck.
I would move 2 or 3 things tier down/up, but overall it's accurate
Also some items need their price to be changed, for instance when you compare obsidian to clovers
Ty. After I bought mystic clovers I wondered if it was worth it. You can buy them now apparently from a vendor without needing to do fractals. I agree it is overwhelming and I'll have regret no matter what I buy.

I really enjoy how straightfoward the new system is, it's nice for a casual like me to hop on and knock out a weekly or two along with my dailies.
Does it say anywhere what happens with leftover astral acclaim when the season is over? Will it transfer to the next season or will it expire?
On Asura, the shouldet is pretty cool! We do t ha e a lot of shoulder that are big but simple. This one fit the bill.
Revive Orbs are very useful for Jumping Puzzles. You want a few if you aren't familiar with them and need to like the "Chalice of Tears" for Legendary stuff.
Not needed, use the Position Rewind Prototype instead
You can save a position you sand in and got like 30sec to rewind to that point should you fall, the rewond feature got a 25sec cooldown, so its slower but safer
I know about the build template copy trick... but i'm just to lazy to alt tab. so that's definitely one of my must buy as well xD

9:50 - I took it upon myself to get ascended gear through achievements about a year ago, because i didnt felt like crafting. I got 3 pieces of armor and a short bow from that specialization achievement and one more ascended weapon box from some other achievement. Then i stopped playing GW2 for a bit, wanted to try out Path Of Exile season to endgame, some other games came out which i wanted to play...then Baldurs Gate 3 came out and that's it. XD
Last week i returned to GW2 and imagine my surprise when i saw new type of daily rewards, especially those ascended armor boxes :D
Suffice to say i have complete ascended armor now, and probably the half completed amberite weapons collection and machined weapons collections will go towards ascended gearing my second character :D

So, the tomes of knowledge for me are absolutely good for sprit shards especially since thats my main hold up for crafting legendary. I think you put it in the right spot. As far as this whole tier list i 100% agree. Id say if you play regularly and have enough AA, go a head and get everything in Amazing and above FIRST then with left over AA just buy infinite bags of gold then about 2 weeks before the next patch have as close to 1300 AA you can have so you can buy those must buys quick on the next season
Love the video! As a primarily WvW player, the tome is one of the worst deals lol I have like 10 thousand spirit shards, even after crafting many legendary armor and weapons lol

Frequent "useless" stuff was from the "Chest of Black Lion Goods" from the *years* of the Daily System. How much will Mystic Forge Stones be valued soon now that they only come from the Gem Store. (Same with Revive Orbs, Black Lion Salvage Kits, any "Express" item.)

You can get a set of ascendant, accessories With laurels as well.
I still dont know why there is no ritualists option for the ascended gear in the box. Celestial is a decent 2nd option, but it really should have a straight up ritualists option.
I think the vision crystal is slightly underrated because you're basically saving 20 spirit shards which can be an okay value if you're constantly running out
I wonder if by doing every daily and every weekly you could earn enough to buy everything, minus the infinite stuff, and maybe minus totally useless T5 bags haha I really liked the video, very helpful, I would love to see a tier list again next season if the rewards end up being totally different
In the wiki they have the math now actually, doing all dailies and weeklies each day/week you would get about 14,800+ AA.
To buy very limited item it would cost a bit over 18,000 acclaim (which includes all 16 sanctified skins) so if you cut out the terrible tier stuff you could probably honestly do it. ☺️

The updated math with the added specials and 4th daily means you can get about 16-17k AA, and buying all the limited rewards is around 19k AA, so you can't literally buy everything, but I'm using neat tricks like a txt file and pretending those Essences of Gold don't exist and the numbers line up really well.
I'm new to the game and didn't know you can get obsidian shards for karma in straits. I have almost 1m karma points now and I didn't know what to do with them. I've been buying obsi shards before from HoT meta shops and now I'm really bummed out only knowing about this now. thank you very much for the info tho. thanks for the video too. helped me out with spending my acclaims
The gold for 6 Astral, when you click it, you can actually buy 5 for 30 until it runs out, instead of the one, so yeah, go for it first.
Are we going to get a SotO expedition contract you think ? I'm a home instance co,pletioner and ATM im working at completing my HI a 100% and I'm saving a 1600 gems so I can get a SotO contract but I don't know if we are getting any for this expansion.

I wanted the griffon skin, but I don't have SotO. Paywalling it only for that expansion was pretty shitty, considering the griffon was released in PoF.

as a pvp player (unranked / ranked and wvw) is it worth getting the legendary weapon chest? or just the ascended? like except for gold is there any benefit to getting the legendary weapon?
Legendaries are a quality of life improvement. They have the same total stats as ascended but you can switch out the stats freely as long as you're not in combat.
What could be interesting is the maths, how many astral acclaims you can get in one season, to know what to prioritize in the shop
think mightyteapot did a video on that and iirc its around 14k assuming you do all the dailies/weeklies/specials

Check the wiki its listed. It's something like 14k what you can earn then buying all limited items your like 16k spent, and if you buy the weapon box 16 times then it's like 18k. But let's be real nobody is gonna buy most of the limited items since we dont need obby shards, revive orbs etc. So there is a good chance you can buy all skins and the good limited items every season, unless they change their prices/amount they give us. Which i feel like they will since with 1 alt you'll make like 400g per season providing u do Dailies and weekly on it

Only thing I would quibble about is the transmutation charges. Over time the game will shower you with these. And all legendary gear is free to transmute.
I guess some people change clothes a lot? I have tons of charges piling up. I do not think I will ever have to buy any. 😎

The ascended armor and weapon is very disapointing because you can only choose core stats.
I wasn't eligiable for the grand chest in the mini dungeon but somehow still got the daily seems the daily is as buggy as the dungeon :D
Magic the Gathering once mentioned that they print bad cards as part of the challenge to the game. I feel like the option for bad purchases also satisfies that design principle

Did they confirm that the Legendary Starter Kit isn't just a 1 time per account, forever? or does it come back every Vault reset? i know it's the best value but i don't really want any of these legendaries. i'm scared that if i buy this one, next rotation will have a legendary i want but can't get because i wasted it on one of these 4...

I went for mystic clovers and mystic coins first and consumed them out of stock since they are bit expensive and a pain to get. I skipped the legendary starter kit since I dont like the precursors I would wait for Greatsword l
why consider the limited gold bags more (or as) valuable than the mystic coins?
for 1.5 times the price, you receive double the value, as mystic coins are worth more than 2 gold at the moment?

I mean, you can buy everything there :D It's second week and I already have all mystic coins, all discounted golds, legendary starter kit, all T6 mats, 13 mystic clovers and 165 astrals... and we have 10 more weeks
Erm so someone just said you can salvage the gifts you get to get back the T6 stuff and clovers and sell the t6 stuff...so for quick cash it's seems to be good. Didn't know you could salvage the gifts...
