Added note to the part about gathering tools: the vermilion tool set thats on the store right now includes 3 glyphs that are selectable, so you can choose volatile, unstable, bounty, whichever you want.

@didoma73 think it maths out if you were doing gold to gems a volatile glyph costs like 1500 gems so the fact you can pay for that set with 2 glyphs meaning you get 1 glyph free and the infinite tools free fun fact
It's actually more than just the Vermillion ones. The Choya, Elemental, Glacial, Skyscale, and Cosmic tools also come with glyph selection boxes if purchased as a set.
An "inventory cleaning guide" would unquestionably be useful. I tend to have so many "books", "scraps of paper" and piles or rubbish that I don't know what to do with....

Man.... These unbreakable gathering tools should just be "legendary" So l don't have to deal with the pain of swapping
I personally LOVE the world boss teleporters. The main reason is that, for alts, you can easily teleport to a zone that is active, especially if you haven't entered it yet. It's like, my ezmode way of quickly unlocking areas for alts, especially in zones that are very far apart (and especially for the HoT zones for fresh 80s. Most of the time i don't even do the world bosses for either one unless I need them for something, just helps with shortcuts for alts, as long as the bosses are active)
I find thousand seas pavilion lobby an easier alternative to TP alta everywhere without having to wait for the world bosses activity

There's a great lounge pass in the PoF Deluxe Upgrade. This upgrade is great because it also comes with other good stuff.

I'd put the additional crafting license under D tier as they are basically useless. At least I'm perfectly fine switching characters for crafting.

I always use obsidian sanctum in WVW as a free lounge spot.
It has everything but crafting stations, but everything is right at the entrance.
(It also loads quickly and you can leave/character select to get back to your previous map)
You also get the option to walk through the gate to go back to Lion's Arch which can be massive for a new player.
In order to leave back to the map you came from, you must re-access the WVW menu.
Another nice niche use is that using the Obsidian Sanctum on alts for banking lets you log out to return to your previous map whenever you load up that character again instead of having to hit the access scroll again, go through loading the previous map, then log out to return later. This is especially useful if you have alts parked at harvesting nodes or chests.
I got the recharge teleport to friend on sale and omg i use it all the time now. I didnt realize how convinient it is!

In regards to Hero Point Scrolls: They're doubly worthless if you're an avid WvW player, as you can acquire tons of 'Notarized Scroll of [X] Heroics' with some of the currency you constantly acquire by playing the mode.
A genuinely baffling addition to the gem store, specially now that the dev team has decided to step away from Elite Specs for the time being.

I totally agree with one exception: The infinite gathering tools are S-Tier in my opinion! Having none on my alt-account nearly drove me crazy and now that I have the tools with voletile magic I greatly enjoy gathering every little plant ;)
Extra note regarding gathering tools: some of them actually harvest faster and/or more times per sequence. Unfortunately there's no real rhyme or reason to this so you'll have to scour the wiki, but the Consortium Sickle is significantly faster than most and even faster if you cancel the animation. And thanks to the Glyph system you can still get Volatile Magic or other benefits from those tools anyway, at the cost of probably buying a second set of tools.

I wanna add that most of the utility items are on sale frequentiy. I only buy bank upgrades on sale. Also, sometimes stuff (like keys) are free on the shop - so even if you don't plan to spend money, there might be something for you.
Last tip: You can often right click on items in the shop to preview or see a selection of possible items.

Thousand Seas Pavilion also has a portal to various fishing spots around the world, including areas in Elona and Cantha, making it an easy way for new alts to get to those areas of the world with no waypoint unlocked there yet. It's the best general use PvE pass, and it's usually not so, hmm, full of things that are likely to burn out your retinas.
I bought the runecrafter in plan to get my legendaries runes somes day since it give a lot of interesting material for it from greens. I don't regret my buy.
Before having acces to mistlock sanctuary, I used the Eye of the north as alternative, since his portal permit to teleport even home. It cost a little to develop it but I still use it to go home since my mistlock sanctuary doesn't allow it.

I typically spend Gems on convenience items. It's a way to support Anet, they give me a ton of fun, so I want them stay in business. So I regularly buy gems with $$$ as you would do with every "hobby"

5:45 the eye of the north is also like wizards tower, but you need to extend it with money, crafted stuff etc. and there are merchants for Bjora and Gothmar stuff (not to mention strike, DRMs and the events at the charr copter) but it has no mystic forge doh, you can also buy a scroll to teleport to that place. also if you upgrade arborstone it´s kinda also like that but you need to walk a bit like in a city. Does two and Wizards Tower have also scrolls to teleport there, but sadly not back

I wished they added/completed the remaining mount(Skyscale) for the Exo-Suit Mounts Pack. From all the skyscale mounts.. I narrowed it down to Synergetics Cyberscale Skin or Plush Skyscale Skin.. but as much as I like the Synergetics one.. I really do love the Plush Skyscale and it's what I'm saving up for..definitely S tier :D
I do love the Runecrafter far more than the copper-fed due to charms and also.. for me.. the silver-fed is D tier if you have a lot of unused mystic forged stones to craft Mystic Salvage Kits. My beef with 'most' lounge passes is they reset EoD Off/Def buffs which can be annoying and that goes for home instance and 'most' Guild Halls too.
inventory management guide:
1- you can get 32 slot bags, one for free doing achievements (or is it just a quest?) in lw4 (sandswept isles), the rest from crafting (but it's really expansive), oh and another free one with an achievement, perhaps in the leggy amy one
2- you can replace the first bag you have (the 20 slot one) with a bag with more slots
3- sometimes there's "bundle" in gem store with inventory bag slot (right now inventory bag slot + bank tab + inventory shared slot + materials stack size upgrade + one 20 slots bag)
4- crafting materials can be sent to bank with a button in the upper right side of the inventory, if your crafting material bank tab is full, you may sell them to the black lion tp
5- you can keep loot bags, chests and stuff without opening them, it saves you the place taken by what's in those (and sometimes its a lot of items in there)
6- you can craft mystic salvage kit with 250 use and high chance of getting more mats or ectos or essence of luck (3 mystic stone, one kit of each rarity: blue, green, yellow)
7- if you can't craft mystic salvage kit you can also buy the copper thingy one
8- GET THEM 9 inventory bag slot from gem store and full 32 slot bags (so total x14) for a total 448 slots and never be out of space again!!! (lol just kidding)
9- also you can have a bunch of shared inventory slot which is nice, but you can't put soulbound items in there

Sandswept achievements (Lasting Bonds series) gives a 24, 28, and 32 slot, which are preferential for containers and consumables. You can also get a 32-slot without type preference by completing 16 of the Seasons of Dragons achievements (which also gets you an ascended weapon chest at 4, an EoD precursor at 10, and a legendary amulet for all 24).
The Bag Expansion and Storage Expander did not get a high enough rating, as both enable one to build up a larger oyster salvo to attack Lara's guild bank with.
Straight to oyster jail.
While its not a must have but i like the world boss and maguuma pact portal stones. You can use them with alt characters to help get to new zones.
A little late to see this video, but adding to living world, I would agree getting season 2 last. But I highly recommend newer players get all of them for the Seasons of the Dragons achievement gives you an Ascended Chest which is great for new players, a precursor weapon, a 32 bag which would've cost a few hundred gold to make, and a "free" legendary amulet to boot. I would recommend not to flat out buy them even if you buy the pack with 20% sale (i think), but wait for expansion drops, as it usually would go on an extra sale then

Personally like build storage from wizard vault. It gives you two at a time. I always keep one slot open and I can easily swap through builds on it. Bang for the buck id rather fill those out first before character templates since any of my characters can use them and I tend to use one class at a time so which ever I'm using the most tends to use those slots.
For the hero points, you can also just unlock them using wvw currency. You get ton of extra green tokens that you can just use to unlock stuff (if you like wvw ofc). Personally I unlocked all specs for 5 alts just with those. HP trains are fun, but to do it 5-10-20 times depending on your number of alts is tedious (item is still D tier though).

Copper, silver, runecrafters, shared inventory, bank slots, material stacks, 1 set of UM and VM harvesting tools, world boss teleporter. tomes with map scrolls for shared inventory slots, recharge TP. Have to disagree about storage slots, I'm maxed at 2500 and many times, come up short on some items.
The crafting professions, this was available years ago, just never had the actual item to buy, you just purchased from the "master crafter" at the crafting stations. This is a buy once, cry once thing. The WP unlock, yea, you only unlock 1 WP if you get it for HoT/PoF.

I actually like the BL salvage kits for getting expensive runes/sigils out of exotic equipment to sell them. Often it's worth more than directly selling the item (especially with the ecto and stuff you also get from salvaging)
About Lounges: All lounges got updates with a feature to go back to your previous map, since a little while ago they added a "Return to my previous map" option to the portal in the lounge. Unfortunately it's not as handy as doubleclicking the pass again and if you log off the character the game looses track of where you were, so it's just good for an in-and-out.
At least for Mistlock Sanctuary, it will remember where you were between sessions and between characters.
One more free way to unlock hero points, if you do a lot of WvW you can buy hero points with your testimonies of heroics. It's great for quickly unlocking a new spec on an alt.
Teleport to Friend being dropped to a 10min cooldown is such a win!
I've owned it for over a year because a guildie had one and it seemed really practical. At that time, it was on sale at least. But I tell you, without the recent changes I would have put it in F tier, even in this list that only goes down to D. It sucked so hard and cost me more than 5€. Since the update, though, I've been using it quite a lot and I'm really happy with it now.
Plush skyscale is S tier. Wish I had bought it when it was out, and normally I'm not that big into mount skins!

S++ tier: Candy corn gobbler. It is a everything multiplier including pvp reward tracks, this thing basically puts your account on steroïds
S tier: Living world, this is imho the best content in the game and it is above the curve in terms of farming potential. So it is the best fun and it pays for itself
A tier: bank, bags: all the convenience you should have that make the game feel like a crappy f2p. And for you it can include things below, for me it was storage that was the issue for a long time
A- tier: salvagers. They are nice but actually if you have bag space you do them in chunks anyway and it can be a karma dump
B+ tier: temporary boosters. Especially when new content drops, you will farm events, gets lots of xp from exploration etc... Especially when unlocking masteries at the start of an expansion, use every boosts available, it helps a lot
B tier: tools, volatile magic is better on gathering, for mining and woodcutting I really like the instant tools but volatile is slightly better money. However normal volatile tools are a karma dump
C tier: shared inventory store packs. It is an investment but it feels really good having lw books, lunge, salvagers, gobblers, fractal pot all the time everywhere
D tier: a lounge portal, it is convenient and saves a bit of change here or there
They reduced the cooldown on the Recharging Teleport to Friend to 10 minutes. Much less of a pain. However, since I’m the Friend usually being Teleported to, I have a full stack of consumable TtF’s just begging to be used and I therefore have no need for the Recharging one.
Additional Bag slots should work like the crafting license: For your whole account.
Just like Build Storage should not be monetized. It wasn't in GW1. In fact, in GW1, the build were saved and loaded into and from a textfile in the gw1 install folder. But that ship has sailed, Anet is probably too afraid to change this, as not to anger people who already paid.
Season 2 have black lion key as reward per character. This is why its expensive
I personally have no issue with grinding for stuff (like wvw tickets or fractal relics), but if it is stuff I could buy off the TP (like mats for legendaries) I just cannot shake the feeling of working for less than minimum wage, so I swipe without shame :D
ahhh gosh pls put a warning before those terrible terrible inventories :P
All that ANet has to do to revitalize WvW is to introduce the Plush Warclaw skin. Same for the Plush Roller Beetle and sales of Season 4.

The two rarest items in my S tier:
1. Original GW2 T-Shirt skin. This was only available after release, I dont have it and there is no chance to ever get it. But I want it
2. Gardening License. Allows you plant your own fields of crops in your home instance and some secret places in the open world. I still want it so much!
On the other hand, they _did_ finally bring back the Season 1 missions after a long absence - So there's a remote possibility the shirt might resurface. The gardening thing? I have that and it's seriously over-rated. It's a little plot with 4 plants that one character can farm once a day. Not exactly a field. Just join a Guild and your Guild Hall will have a lot more resources...
Skins is S tier if you are a fashionista and enter fashion contest.
There are so many cool combinations you can make to get a pretty look.
Two things this video doesn't mention
It is actually possible to have all crafting professions on a single character and swap between them for 25silver if you want to have a dedicated character for that.
Hero points can also be earned by using Testimonies of Jade Heroics from WvW, you can get those by leveling up and choosing them as a reward from skirmish chests
TIL - You can switch build templates by clicking the little arrow on the left side of the bar and not needing to open the menu?? This needs to be on one of your 'Things You May Not Kwow about GW2' videos :)
Also another alternative to a Lounge Pass is going to the PvP lobby. It doesn't have a Mystic Forge but it does offer a lot of services conveniently close.

All passes now have that return option. Use the portal gates in each one and select "return to previous map".
If they ever put the Home Portal Stone on sale for 50%, I'm getting it. It just isn't worth $12 to me.
by the way, if you happen to have the home portal stone in your inventory, when you make a new character, you can use it to tp right into your home (without having done the tutorial) and then you can go anywhere (wvw... the small zones with every crafting stuff, merchants, mystic forge etc...) so this is a tutorial skip

The one item you have not mentioned is the garden plot. I make 100 gold every 13 days by growing and selling ascended herbs.
The best thing about the Gem Store--and something that really elevates GW2 above other MMOs--is that you can buy Gems with Gold that you earn in game, and the conversion price is really not too bad. I have a rule that I only buy 1600 Gems per year ($20) as a Christmas stocking stuffer for myself. (Plus I get the Ultimate versions of expansions, which come with 4000 Gems at half-price.) Anything else I want, I buy with Gold, and I have bought a *lot* of skins with gold! I would be rich in the game if skins, and some utilities, weren't constantly catching my eye. My latest purchase was the Kilt skin, which looks fabulous on male and female character of all races (except Sylvari).

Just bought a bank expansion slot, but my material storage is still at 250. I cant find the item that expands the material storage, what’s it called?
I regret getting the normal infinite tools rather than the volatile magic ones. If I do daily full home they do add up.

The 3 S-Tier LS episodes are great but not for everyone. PvP/WvW focused individuals will find 0 value in those....I´d go A Tier.
Friend teleporter is OK, if you use it regulairly but if not, the 1 time use ones are more than enough and ppl usually have a ton of those since you get 5 per birthday (of each character, and they are not character bound so you can have an near infinite supply) - B Tier

Finally:
Exo and Rare salvage-o-matics ....D/C Tier. Since the legendary armory, salvaging for runes and sigils is basically irrelevant, so the Black Lion Salvage kits cover any and all instances of that, and for rares you just need the Mystic Salvage kit which has 250 uses, assuming you have enough MF stones, else the shop one is still better than the gem store one as the utility gained is almost nonexistant: "A player would have to salvage approximately 1,388,889 items before it becomes cheaper than using Master's Salvage Kits" (vendor ones) - GW2 Wiki. For illustration, I have salvaged less than 260k itesm (total) since the start of the game back in 2012 (Finished Agent of entropy 1266 times) - meaning that at this rate, I would need another over 50 years of salvaging only rares before the thing becomes worth it ....
Similar argument could be also made for the infinite mining tools but they at least always count as best in slot so you can gather everything, not to mention it does not cost you money to do so, unlike with the salvage-o-matics, where you still pay for each salvage :D
Single use items are in the gem store for one purpose: so that when they drop from the black lion chest, anet can claim you got something of equal or greater value for your key as a drop. They don't, necessarily, care if anyone ever buys a merchant express from the gem store.

I really don't like the fact that after that (bad idea but I understand where it's coming from) skip-to-level-80 item, A Net doubled down with the gemstore hero points and waypoints unlock. Experienced players don't need them, and new players will skip a valuable learning process (not as much as with the instant lvl80) or at least waste their money on it. Also, it can give the false impression to new players that it's a pay-to-win situtation.
Yeah, its really sad I saw many new players who never experienced the world and straight up skip all the story and maps and just run end game content every day its just like work to them, they don't appreciate the world or the beauty never slow down all they do is speed running the content and then complain that the game is boring and how fast they could complete the whole game...
weapon skins calls to my wallet. i imagine builds for the soule porpuse of just buying a skin from the store :D

Just buy hero points in WvW notary if you need them instantly.
I think Silver-fed should not go into A tier but much lower. In my opinion, it would hurt newer players due to the cost per salvage and older players can afford Mystic Salvage Kit which is much, much better value and with 250 charges, not much less convenient.

I think the lounge passes aren't all that fantastic. You can sell or bank items using WvW or PvP without losing map position.
Buying gold in the gem store is also pretty s-tier

I would put Hero Point scroll to F tier...
My strat for the gathering tools is to keep a spare set in every character's inventory and replenish those as part of the inventory processing checklist. I feel it's barely less convenient than remembering swap around the infinite tools every time you switch characters. And it's basically free.

@@didoma73 Yes, a stack of each regular tools, when I clean up their inventory. If I run out in the field I have a replacement ready, and I basically never need more than a stack between inventory cleanups, so functionally I'm never without a gathering tool ready.
