It was back in the summer of 1975 when my taste buds first experienced spanish peanuts with garlic chips. I had just arrived at Clark AB in the Philippines and of course my sponsor had to show me around, to include downtown, aka Fields Ave. He said try them, they go great with the San Miguel beer! I did and from then on I would not drink beer without a bag of street vendor spanish peanuts with garlic chips. It got to the point that all the street vendors knew me and always added a little more, but I repaid them for it too.
