We are the Vikings. The series Vikings is based on our king's saga from the Viking Age. All those you have seen in the series actually existed in Scandinavia. It's my ancestors you've been watching on TV serie Vikings.
Its a fairytale with some facts, some real names, but its filled with fantasy. The Vikings were very skilled boat and house builders as you had to be to survive, boats for fishing and defending against neighbours before Norway became one kingdom under Harald Haarfagre. 2/3 of the Norwegian Vikings died of the plage that arrived with a boat from China, a boat with a dead crew was towed into Bergen with infested rats.
The plague arrived in Norway in 1348 from a ship from England. There was no vikings then. The so called ‘Viking age’ enden around 1060.
I love Norway for beautiful landscapes and for winter. It's still -20 there so i can ice swimming. There are very few such places left in Europe. Greetings from Poland
My favorite norwegian artist is Aurora. Check the track "I went too far" Live on Honda stage. She is wonderful😮.

Very interesting video!! Thanks! 😅
I've always felt a close connection to the "Viking" period. I'm a redhead and have always felt a close connection to the north. I made at test and sent in my DNA to an ancestor lab and this came back! 94,9% Scandivaian and 5,1% Finnish.
Congrats.
We, the Scandinavian people, love and "hate" each other. During the time of ca 770-1066 AD there wasn't any NO, SWE and DK as it is today. Often "northmen" means the people up from the north. The Danes is also a name called on people sailing from the nowadays Denmark. They find Viking graves and old ships in all of our countries, DK, NO ans SWE. Uppsala in Sweden is a very important place during the viking age. Up here in the north, we respect each other och we shar a common history.
There may be theories that the vikings from south "Sweden" where the one travelling east, lite to Russia, Tyrkey and so on, which we all know happened.
The Viking were on first hand traders which discovered alot of countries long before Christopher Columbus!
The fund is now worth $1,5 trillion or $280 000 per person.
Regnar Lodbrog was a Danish legendary king (Viking chieftain).
Nothing is 100% sure.
According to history he was a son af a Swedish king. And nota bene, during the time there wasn't SWE, NO and DK at all.

The narrator has bad Norwegian pronunciation. I am Norwegian/American, lived half my life in the US, am now living in Norway with me Canadian wife.
BROWN cheese, is not really cheese, it is the whey left over from cheese production that is cooked until most of the water has evaporated and the lactose in the whey start to carmaellize. That is why it has caramel color. It's just a way to make use of all the milk, and the flavor is very nice, when you get used to it. Lactose is not a very sweet type of sugar, so it does not taste like cakes or candy, but slightly sweet and rather sharp taste. It's best combined with warm bread, and some even put jam on top of it. It is also often used to make sauces richer, or mixing it with sugar and cinnamon for cake filling. Most common use is on warm or cold bread, i recommend freshly baked bread with butter and brown "cheese", and drink hot chocolate on the side.
This is a lousy video you are watching. Many errors and exaggerations. Come and see the Scandinavian countries for yourself. You won't be disappointed.
